  1. Hello everyone. This morning I finally decided to see the dentist. I had the option of not taking an x-ray - though I went ahead and got it anyway. Being that I am cautious of radiation effects on hair, the doctor reassured me that the dose is so small that is it equivalent to a day's worth of sunlight (which I do not believe). I came out of the dental office very depressed and angry because I felt that the x-ray was not necessary and may contribute to more hair loss. Right now I feel so ashamed and angry at myself that words cannot begin to describe my emotions. Honestly, I should not have gone to get x-rayed. Just to let you know, I have not had many x-rays in my life. The last one I had was in 2013 at the dentist's. But personally I believe that one is too many. Gentlemen, I feel tormented now. I ask for your honesty upon the matter. This is all I ask, just your honesty. I would like to also request the administrator and moderator for their opinions and direction. Thank you.
  2. Well it looks like that time of the year for me again: my annual dental appointment. Sometimes the dentist zaps x-rays to see what is wrong with your teeth. Of course, x-rays is not a good friend to anyone. So I would like to know if dental x-rays can make you lose more hair. This is my main concern going into the dental office. I am very concerned about losing more hair than I already have.
  3. $250 for a consult? That is rather awful. Would not want to be charged that just to speak with a doctor.
  4. Yes I have been coming across Konior and Hasson a lot on this site. It seems he is good quality of a surgeon and respected by all the users on this site. Have not looked into Bisanga just yet. But I will soon after I do more digging around. Currently I am adding doctors to my short list.
  5. Well thank you Raman for your contribution to my thread - and to my future hair restoration at that! Honestly I have just scratched the surface in researching Dr. Erdogan. He is in Turkey of course. Yet I have been warned from a couple of posters here that these Turkish hair transplant doctors perform dense packing sessions. Would this be a bit harmful to hair growth? As to your procedure I could not find your gallery of before-and-after pictures. Can you post a link to that if you do not mind? I would be most grateful to you if you did. Thank you.
  6. Well at least you found a reputable clinic that will definitely help you without objection to your disease. Honestly speaking I do not think any clinic should worry about working on patients with HIV since it is not an air-born disease. You simply cannot catch it by sniffing it from the air exactly. Asmed is in Turkey and well as you might imagine the country is not exactly the EU. Their standards and practices are not on par with the rest of the world entirely. Personally I would be weary of clinics operating outside the EU or USA.
  7. Shaving your head now I see. Good luck with your procedure.
  8. Today I saw recent pictures of Jose Canseco. What is odd about them is that he does not appear to be in need of any transplants as far as I can tell. He seems to have a full head of hair. Very strange. As for Mr. Mohebi I did take the time to look over his work. He does not seem to have many before-and-after pictures on his website. Is he by any chance relatively new to the practice?
  9. Jose Canseco the baseball player? Of all people. Well I am stumped! He would be the least of us to actually opt for a hair transplant given his rather thick hair. I believe his nationality is Cuban but of Mediterranean extraction. Usually Mediterraneans have excellent hair. In any case he has the money to afford any doctor. Lucky.
  10. Very difficult situation you find yourself in. Sorry to hear that. There was a case like this I read on before, yet I do not recall the specific clinic at the moment. But if memory still serves me correctly the patient with this HIV condition successfully sued a U.S. based hair surgery clinic and well, you can imagine the amount in money compensation. As far as I know it is unethical and illegal for any clinic to discriminate against anyone with certain conditions including HIV. But isn't it odd for clinics to draw blood to test it before a hair procedure? Best to stick with U.S. clinics. You are protected. I want to wish you a lot of luck.
  11. 3500 grafts sounds like a decent amount for your area. In 2 - 3 months time you will harvest even further hair growth. I want to wish you a lot of luck.
  12. Yes at least the more serious clinics do make their won branded shampoos - although they are all the same if you ask me. You mention a daily wash and twice a day at that. That strikes me as odd. My friend with around the same amount of grafts was told to wash his hair once a week in post op. I will have to gather some info and get back to you on that. Oh well it seems not all doctors are the same now are they.
  13. Come 10 months I think your procedure will turn out to be just fine. It is looking good as far as I can tell from your photos. You will have a bunch of fur before you know it.
  14. Now this is interesting. With regards to retro-aloprecia don't you think a doctor will likely not use nape hair since alopecia comes from that region of the scalp? It would be foolish to though I am no doctor of any sort.
  15. Did they particularly prescribe a special shampoo for you? One of my friends had a shampoo specifically made for the clinic where he got his procedure done. It smelled rather plain. Needless to say he only used it once a week (more like once every 10 days or so) after his procedure. Good luck.
  16. Can't we all get along without all this name calling? It is not that serious. I respect everyone's opinion regardless of their point of view.
  17. Well why would I use him when I am early into my research as I said in my thread? He is worth a mention based on what I have seen. There are many doctors around the world that you have not heard about that can stand toe to toe with the best doctors. My thread is used to contribute my insight about a doctor to benefit this forum's community. If you cannot understand this then I do not think you should be trolling someone who is trying to contribute their time and knowledge to you and others. I really do not like your immaturity and insults. Such trolling behavior is contrary to this forum's strict terms. If you continue I will have to report you to the moderators on board.
  18. Not so fast. I only mention him based on my ongoing research. Is he a doctor I may call upon to do my surgery? Probably. But I do not know at this point this early into my research. That is only a question of time. You just cannot ask someone to jump on the first doctor he sees. That would be foolish. However so far he has impressed me with his results.
  19. Been reviewing doctors recently and I came upon a fellow who does outstanding work. Mind you, I do not represent him in the least. That said I find his work to be top notch compared to the ones I have reviewed thus far. Marc Dauer is the doctor in question. I believe he is in the same league as the best top notch doctors that are constantly mentioned on here like Feller, Lorenzo and Hasson & Wong and company. Honestly I do not know if any of you have heard of him. However I strongly recommend that this website recognize him for another reason other than his great quality work which is that his gallery on his website showcases literally more than 150 before and after images. No doctor so far through my research has amassed that many images.
  20. I must say your doctor did a rather fine job. Could you tell us how long after your surgery your last photo in your gallery taken?
  21. Well thank you for your well rounded responses. As you may know finding a good qualified anything is difficult in and of itself. I think the best thing for me is to take my time and peruse the forum for such reviews with no rush. I'll get on that right away.
  22. Always good to be here on this site. Hope that you fine gentlemen can assist me in my need. Over the course of a year I have been looking at options for my hair loss. During that time I have read magazines, books and websites (like this one) to help me make a wise decision in such a delicate situation. However this has not been a simple decision for me to make. That said I would like your suggestions as to which doctors are known to plug as many grafts as possible in an otherwise thinning area. Do keep in mind that I want to keep my hair in this thinning area intact (though I know the grafts will will plugged in between them). Good to know I can count on your experiences. I look forward to your answers. Thank you much.
  23. A certain gentleman at work with similar male pattern baldness complained about his hair loss (as anyone would at his age especially) enough to warrant a hair transplant. He left the company before getting a transplant. Lost contact with him over the months. Anyway this fellow had mentioned a doctor at a consultation telling him he needed about 2800 (or was it 3000?) grafts to cover his shining area. As I said he had a similar pattern like yours. Needless to say this may reinforce what your doctor recommends in your case. As I am no doctor I can only go by this ex-colleague's feedback. I wish you a lot of luck in whatever you choose for your hair loss option.
  24. Well hello there HTsoon. Appreciate your images and progress you've made thus far. You are an inspiration to those who want to get to that level. This doctor did an excellent job on you. Impressive to say the least. Great hairline. Currently pursuing to build a list of viable doctors myself. Your doctor made my top 10 list. Looking forward to research him for my next hair transplant procedure.
