  1. @Raphael84 thank you for your detailed response. This is really helpful and I'll be in touch with your office shortly.
  2. Two things - 1) the Aussie sweater is outstanding and 2) do we know if the patient suffered any shockloss in the recipient area in the first few months after surgery? I'm interested in similar work but shockloss around the hairline scares me. I guess it's a step back for three steps forward in the long run but it would be encouraging to learn that Dr Bisanga has a strategy for minimising the loss of previously transplanted hair when reinforcing an area.
  3. Looking great IMO. Please keep posting, I look forward to seeing this improve in the coming months.
  4. For 5-ish months, this looks outstanding!! Congratulations. Please keep the progress pics coming.
  5. Great write up! Thanks man, I'm looking to have similar work done and I've considered both offices. I'll be watching closely.
  6. Mate! You're going to have an outstanding result. The work looks phenomenal to me. Try not to be too concerned about the ugly duckling hiccups. I had redness for months, I'll flick you a private message that I hope will help.
  7. Looks amazing!! Dream hairline, you must be so happy. My only question relates to contact with the clinic. I've had trouble getting a response, any suggestions?
  8. Thanks for this response. I really appreciate it.
  9. Looking great so far. Any chance of a pic that shows your hairline? Possibly hair slicked back, wet or with a comb? Looking awesome Florence!!
  10. Amazing result and excellent write up HairNTear. I'm in a similar position and I'm currently looking for a doctor to repair my hairline and I'm looking for a doc that's hands on from start to finish. How much was Dr Cooley involved? Did he extract and also implant or did he come and go throughout the transplant? I know techs are part of the business, but the anonymity troubles me. All docs will tell me their techs have been with them for years but there's really no way of knowing. I'm looking for a doctor that has built their business on being involved throughout the procedure. Was Dr Cooley there throughout? I'm willing to travel anywhere and work with any doc. Unfortunately, Konior is beyond my price range and so I'm looking for someone with a similar approach.
  11. Thanks so much for this response Rolandas. I really appreciate it. This response will help as I plan for the next surgery. I'll chat more about this with the doc I end up choosing. Again, thanks for this response and I look forward to watching your hair grow in the coming months.
  12. Hey Rolandas, Outstanding write up and fantastic results first time around. I'm sure these results will be also be great. Quick question for you, did Dr Ferreira express any concerns about reinforcing (implanting grafts between exisiting hair or grafts) causing shock loss or permanent hairloss? I don't mean to introduce any unnecessary anxiety for you but I've been wondering about this. Early in my own HT journey I met with a local doctor and asked if my hair could be reinforced with grafts between exisiting hair and the doc said that this could cause loss or damage to existing hair and therefore wasn't possible. Admittedly, this doctor isn't recommended on this site and he didn't perform my surgery. I'm wondering if it just wasn't possible for this doc but certainly possible for the high level teams? Obviously Dr Ferreira doesn't have an issue with it but I'm wondering if he mentioned anything about this specifically? I'm asking because I'm eager for a second surgery which I'm hoping will include a density increase but I've been nervous about losing some of my grafts in the process. Thanks again for your write ups and vids. They are hugely helpful and encouraging!
  13. What are the benefits believed to be Melvin? The Dermatologist that has been doing some research on this subject is based in a neighbouring city and so I've been considering an appointment. Is the oral version supposed to be more effective than the topical? I flicked through a research paper online but it seemed inconclusive. The argument seemed to be that the oral was an option for people that couldn't tolerate topical, rather than a more effective alternative? Don't get me wrong, I hate topical minox and I would love to switch to the oral version if it was proven (even anecdotally) to be more effective. What did take from Dr Nadimi's comments? Does she believe it works better? Do you use the topical as well or have you switched to oral entirely?
  14. Outstanding result!! Well done mate. I think your crown is a home run.
  15. This thread is really helpful Gasthoerer. I'm planning a hairline repair and possible crown procedure with Dr Feriduni and I'd love to see your results. I'm thinking my graft needs will be similar as well. Any chance you could PM me with some pics? I've got a couple of additional questions if you have time.
  16. I hear ya Melvin, and your advice is sound. I'm looking for a balance. I come from a part of the world where my country's dollar doesn't go as far as the US dollar or Euro and so cost unfortunately matters.
  17. This is all very helpful, so HLC is a good option??? I always said I wouldn't cut corners and compromise quality for price but unfortunately price is a factor. I always thought I'd go with ASMED for a second procedure but donor conservation is important to me and it doesn't seem to be the "home run" it used to be. I'm very interested in a procedure with Dr Bisanga but I'd like to keep my options open. If I can get more for less, why not? Is HLC considered a good option? Any disasters I should be concerned about? I've been impressed with what I've seen online and although I haven't read anywhere near the amount of positive reviews I read about ASMED in its heyday, those I've read have been positive. I know that no doctors have perfect records, but it seems to me that by choosing a high level, well known and (unfortunately) expensive doctor you are tipping the odds in your favor...would HLC fit into the high level catagory? Any thoughts on HLC?
  18. Thanks Rolandas! Your progress looks awesome by the way. Your result will be a life changer!!
  19. I hear ya Rolandas, thank you. I’m taking everyone’s advice, conserving grafts and focusing on addressing my crown and the area behind the hairline. I’d like to get this done and just move on with my life and I’m wondering, from a preventative perspective, can docs place grafts between hairs to reinforce an area or do they prefer to wait until balding/recession is significant? The area behind my hairline has hair, but it isn’t as think at the mid scalp. Would a doc go in between my hair to reinforce?
