  1. It's absolutely crazy. Like most people here, I have read in advance how such a hair surgery works and that you have to be patient. Nevertheless, I was nervous and dissatisfied every now and then, because the growth did not happen like I want to be. Partly I thought that the end result will not be good. But in the end, you really have to wait the year. Nothing else helps. Anyway, was an interesting time
  2. So ... I'm very happy with the end result. Uploaded a mirror selfie. If you have any questions, just let me know. Thanks for reading along here in the thread!
  3. Here is my update after 8 months. It definitely got a little denser last month. According to Feriduni, I have to wait 12 to 14 months in my case. There should be a lot more to come. Let's see
  4. Thanks! My crown status has not worsened since the surgery and was/is just barely "ok". See also the attached picture from a time before my surgery seven months ago. Since the surgery I have been using Minoxidil in my crown area and hope that I will be able to postpone my second surgery for a few more years. But at some point I have to do another surgery in any case. I also have a second thread here where I document the progress of my minoxidil use (click here). I'm not sure yet if it works at all on me, but I'll continue to use it for now.
  5. 7 months update! Have not shaved the hair the last month for the first time. Should now be a length of 11mm.
  6. Two more pictures, after another month of Minoxidil application. So a total of six months so far. Am still unsure if it works on me.
  7. Dear Forum, I had a hair transplant in the front area in September 2020, six months ago. Everything went very well. After the surgery, I then started treating my tonsure area with Minoxidil (Regaine foam) twice a day. With this I hoped that I can push my second hair transplant for the tonsure as far back as possible. Before my surgery I had longer hair (a few cm) and since the surgery I have been wearing a short hairstyle only (1-5mm). Now I feel that in the last six months the hair status of my tonsure has worsened significantly. Either this is simply because my new short hairstyle simply makes the tonsure area more noticeable, or I've had a significant hair loss boost in the last six months - despite minoxidil. This brings me right to my question: does minoxidil work for me and should I continue to take it? Attached I upload a few photos: Picture 1: Hair status before hair surgery. Picture 2: Hair status before hair surgery (wet) Picture 3: Hair status shortly after hair surgery Picture 4: Day 1 of my Minoxidil application Picture 5: Status after 3 months of Minoxidil application Picture 6: Status after 5 months of Minoxidil application Picture 7: Status after 5 months of Minoxidil application other angle What would you guys recommend me? And what would you say, how has my status developed? Same, worse, better? I myself somehow find it super hard to evaluate the whole thing.... Thank you for any answer!
  8. 6 Month Update! It is slowly getting denser. After taking the photos, I again shaved my hair to 1mm, but I think I'll let it grow now. Have actually gotten used to the short hair quite well though. Other than that, I think my tonsure has gotten worse since the OP. This is despite the fact that I started taking Monaxidil after the OP. Either it's not working for me or I've had a real boost in hair loss over the last six months. If I am very unlucky, my tonsure will look really bad when I let my hair grow long and I will have to continue living with my short hairstyle until I can afford a second surgery.
  9. Four months have passed, that's why I post an update. As I wrote in the outgoing post, I still wear my hair very short (1 mm). In the photos, however, I haven't shaved my hair for about two weeks. Brief summary of my healing process so far: Really nobody noticed that I had a HT. Growth is progressing continuously, but I hope that more will come and it will become even denser. My donor area is still a little bit holey. I hope that it is a shock loss and that it will recover. Overall, I'm satisfied with the way things are going. 👍
  10. Exactly my thoughts. It only would help me to postpone my second surgery. And as you said the biggest problem is the financial aspect. Since Feriduni is a very expensive clinic, I'm saving up for the next surgery today. Edit: By expensive I don't mean that it's not worth it.
  11. Dr. Feriduni recommended that I take fin, but I decided against it for personal reasons. The possible side effects are too extreme for me.
  12. Yes, Dr. Feriduni said something like: "You will have more donor hair left after your surgery than most of my patients have before their first one". I hope he is right and did not say that just to reassure me. Thanks! So far I didn't take any medication. After this surgery I started with Minoxodil (Regaine) for my tonsure area. So that I can push my second surgery as far back as possible. I think Feriduni did not really pay much attention to the remaining hair in the midscalp area. He assured me that if this hair continues to fall out, the look will look natural. Maybe I have already lost some of the remaining hairs due to the surgery. But for me the front area is now finished. The punch size is mentioned as "WAW trumpet punch 0,85". Graft counts: Single FU's: 400 Double FU's: 2284 Triple FU's: 1088 Feel free, if you have more questions.
