  1. Well if this thread does anything I hope the Doctors have a look and re-think their patient care and attention. Dr Doganay has probably lost a Hell of a lot of business through this very thread. There are still clinics in Turkey who do 1 HT per day and look after the patients best interest (and don't charge silly money) So you get what you pay for isn't exactly right as it's all relative, I know people who have paid a Hell of a lot of money for UK transplants that are sub standard, those guys certainly didn't get what they paid for.
  2. Good results can and do consistently be achieved. The naysayers will always say it's a bad idea but I don't think they understand that most people with a high norwood just want to not be bald. We don't expect to have luscious thick locks packed on our heads after a ht, but framing the face and having hair on top for the most part makes a huge difference.
  3. Losinghair13 post a picture of your HT. Is there any growth at all at 7 months?
  4. Donor looks good I'm surprised you couldn't get FUE.
  5. What could be more fun than restoring your confidence. Although I hope this chap has done his research regarding future loss etc.
  6. Why does being a norwood 5 eliminate FUE? I've saw some great results that say otherwise.
  7. Very interesting to see both sides of the story. I personally think it's a great result, just shows you that lofty expectations could really hinder Doctors reputations on this website.
  8. I understand the extraction place being questionable but I am no expert. I don't think the end result is bad though.
  9. Great transformation John, you must be over the moon.
  10. Your family doctor is 100% correct. Your sexual well being (not to mention other possible sides) trumps hairloss. I have a very good friend who has serious erectile dysfunction due to this drug.
  11. This is the part I'm least looking forward to but threads like this make me feel at ease.
  12. But what can you do really? The only thing I can do is wear a hat to conceal my embarrassment and this also avoids questions and judgement. In addition, try and stay as positive as I can. You can erm.....wait? You're being ridiculous.
  13. Not to derail the thread but Aim4hair do you have a thread running on your HT? I'd be interested to have a look at your results.
  14. As Stig has touched on, I believe you need to be quite psychologically strong minded to undergo ANY type of surgery, especially one that takes up to 14 months for results. Is it the doctors job to evaluate your mental health to make sure you are not going to be a shrieking, panicking wreck post HT? I don't think it is.
  15. A solid Norwood 7. It will be a hell of a journey but with the right doctor good coverage is possible.
  16. Did they take it off you? I'm flying to Turkey in January and was hoping to only take hand luggage, I understand with a doctors note you can be allowed through customs with liquids and medications that otherwise wouldn't be allowed.
  17. Turkey is renowned for having fantastic hair restoration surgeons if you do your homework. With Turkey being on the map as a go to place for hair restoration there will inevitably be some horror stories with clinics trying to make a quick buck without proper patient care, I've also seen some bad procedures done in the UK and USA, should these places be avoided also? I don't think it's fair to just avoid Turkey as a whole, but proper research needs to be done with regards to choosing a doctor. Do you have any photos I could look at of your HT?
  18. I'm no expert on the subject by any means but I will try and answer with my opinions. 1. I think FIN will certainly help but I do not think it's crucial. The possible side effects are very worrying and just not worth the risk. 2. I have no idea, sorry. 3. Again I haven't used it, I did use regaine in the early days of my hair loss and it helped a lot but I stopped as it was irritating my scalp. 4. Don't know anything about this 5. As above. 6. Don't know. There are a lot of people on here with much more knowledge than me including doctors so I hope you get the answers you require in more detail.
  19. I don't think there is a definitive answer to any of your questions, Ghumanz. You will hear different answers from different people depending on their experiences and opinions.
  20. I also agree that Fin is not essential. I for one will not be taking it after my HT, I have a friend who has been on it for 3 years and has to take viagra to have sex with his girlfriend, No thanks!
  21. No, it's purely on the testimonies, reviews and experience of the Doctor, the money certainly sweetens the deal but it wasn't my main reasoning. I went for a consultation in the UK and was not impressed, they didn't even tell me how many grafts I would need they just hit me with a price..then asked on here and saw some very unsatisfied customers from the clinic I went to. Have you had bad work from Dr. Civas? I've yet to see any bad reviews from him.
  22. I'm the same age as you, close to a norwood 5 (in keeping with males on my dads side) with good donor hair. I wanted to get a HT when I was 21 but after a bit of research I decided to wait and see how my hairloss would progress, and progress it did. I've now lost most of the hair that I am going to lose (according to a uk consultant) so I have done my research. I wish you the best for the future but I think it's still too early to have made up your mind about the situation.
