  1. Sorry Bill, I know I am breaching your sanction on me by posting on this thread, but I was only weighing in on the H&W pricing. Hope its okay
  2. no, I researched this. They quote Canadians the same amount in Canadian dollars, and American's and non- Canadians in US dollars. When you log onto the website from the states and overseas, the price calculator specifically states US Dollars. When I was touring Canada, I specifically logged onto the website using a Canadian computer and saw the quote in Canadian dollars for the same abount, i.e. $5 a graft FUT in US dollars when logging in from the States, whilst in Canada, it was $5 a graft in Canadian dollars. Guess you Candian's get the hometown discount.
  3. I think the heat itself shouldn't directly affect the grafts, more any excessive sweating from the heat could potentially pop some grafts. Hope it helps
  4. Some say that he spent all week waiting for a big check from the Australians, because he too has spent the last 2000 years sitting on his backside doing absolutely nothing at all. All we know is he’s called the STIG
  5. Some say he fired Donald Trump; and that it was him who trained Batman in the art of keeping a secret identity. All we know ... he 's called the STIG . Some say he gave birth to Chuck Norris , and that the mother was superman. All we know ... he 's called the STIG .
  6. 4 hours should not be your deciding factor mate. You should be picking the best surgeon for you. If you are leaning towards him based on geographical location, and have not yet consulted with the top guys, then I am afraid you are still not ready. Each surgeon will offer up different plans, different estimated number of grafts, and differing opinions on your lifetime donor supply. You need to know how many grafts you need, and what the placement plan is, i.e. are you going for dense packing in a small area, coverage over a wider area, hairline work, crown work? Also, can the procedure be performed in a single session or multiple smaller sessions over a few years? Are you getting strip or FUE? Bottom line, are you picking Cooley because you liked his long-term plan for you the best? Just an example, Hasson & Wong prefer to perform much larger surgeries in one pass for in excess of 4,000 grafts so you don't have to return for a 2nd procedure until the future, whilst other surgeons like Dorin and Wesley may prefer to offer a smaller procedure for 2,000 odd grafts with the plan that you return for a 2nd procedure in a year to add density. Pros and cons to both, but have you thought that through?
  7. Very few people on Fin experience the side effects. Do yourself a favour and give it a try before jumping into a HT
  8. you are being way to generous with items 1 and 2. Bosley should be avoided at all costs, seen way to many Bosley butchering for my liking. I think the chances of a sub-par result is greater with a Bosley surgeons. I'm sure they say the same thing about all the Bosley doctors being the highest ranked doctor. These guys are used car salespeople for crying out loud. The only upside I can think of is that Epstein is a Jewish name, so he must be good!!!! Bottom line, run far away from Bosley and don't look back. There are much better surgeons out there
  9. it has to be half and half, otherwise how are they going to be able to compare the FUT results against the FUE. I would guess the risk of looking odd is the downside to being part of the study for a significant discount.
  10. He performs 2 procedures a day, 1 strip and 1 FUE. If you are looking for a youthful hairline, he is the master
  11. very nice result, but 2500 grafts can hardly be called a mega-session in this day and age with the likes of Hasson & Wong performing that many in half a day. I would think anything in excess of 4,000 grafts be considered a mega-session.
  12. Bud, can you post some updated pictures for us? I think you are going to look worse if you remove everything. Have you tried using Toppik and Couvre to mask your scalp?
  13. Um, that's silly, this should be the single biggest deciding factor in your decision.
  14. I would actually invest in a surgical hat to wear. They are very loose fitting and easy to remove and put on without touching the new grafts. http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=mens+surgical+scrub+cap&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=47411772530&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15901162966835504967&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_67t18hyla_b
  15. Both surgeons are very hands on, each only performs a single surgery a day, Dr Shapiro is present and participates in a significant portion of the graft placements and delegates a portion of this to techs, whilst Konior will do this all himself. Although both are highly skilled, I get the impression that Shapiro is more highly renowned amongst his peers than Konior. After care at both clinics is probably comparible. Konior is more conservative than Shapiro. Shapiro is more renowned for his hairlines than Konior. Konior seems to be very meticulous and double checks everything. Konior is more expensive. Konior has a longer waitlist (only because he runs a 1 man clinic whilst Shapiro Medical has 3 surgeons). Overall, I prefer Shapiro over Konior.
  16. I understand that, but this is not something you want to cheap out on. I would say even look into Dr Karadenitz or Dr Bhatti if you want cheap
  17. Are you kidding me, you have picked two surgeons no longer recommended by this site, one of which was suspended due to the quality of recent results. You need to go back to the drawing board and do more research. The best for FUE are Lorenzo, Erdogan, and Feriduni. Stick with one of those three
  18. Disagree Newbie, under your interpretation then any task or procedure that it is initiated by the hand can be considered manual, where does that line start, I.e when the button is pressed by a hand to start an automated process? If there is an automated tool involved then at a minimum it should be called semi-automated or semi-manual, but saying that using an automated tool is manual is deceiving, and everyone knows this.
  19. It's not surprising seeing that you had so much ground to cover, and I think this is to be expected when going for coverage over such a large area. I do think that another procedure to add density will do the trick. I would forget about the crown if I were you though.
  20. Hans, was just watching the 20twenty World Cup - is it just me or did AB de Villiers get a hairtransplant too?
  21. looks like Dr Bernstein and the surgeons at Shapiro Medical Group are doing the same practice. If Dr Ron Shapiro does it like that, then I highly doubt that's the reason for your bad result.
  22. My interpretation of what him and SPG do is as follows: 1. Recipient sites are made on day#1 2. Grafts are harvested onday #2 3. Grafts are placed on day #2 .
