  1. Hi! Getting quite nervous about the outcome of my recent HT. The reason being, i hit my head on an upper cupboard door 2 days after my transplant. I was quite tired at the time, so I didn't really think of checking if was bleeding or not, just went back to bed. Now, 2 weeks after my FUT, I am noticing that there is only one round spot on top of my crown that doesn't seem to have little graft hair growing like everywhere else. And I am sure it was a spot where hair should have been transplanted. And it happens to be the spot I hit on the cupboard door. My questions : could this be isolated early shed? It's just weird that I am not shedding anywhere else, isn't it? Or could a hit on the head cause all grafts in an area to not grow ? My next step is to stop looking in the mirror I think..... Thanks in advance !
  2. Thanks! Anyone else had a similar experience ? I an fussing ++ about this....
  3. Hi! I had a FUT 14 days ago. My sutures were removed after 10 days. The dots where the stitches were made on each side of the suture line are still very red and obvious. After my first FUT I used vaseline on the donor area and had no problem. This time I used polysporin ointment (mix of antibiotics and Vitamin E). Could this be because I had a reaction to Vitamin E ? Are these kind of marks something I should be expecting after 2 weeks or is this something that will scar like this? Thanks for your help!!!
  4. Asking the veterans here.... Had FUT a week ago, and I have been diligently applying antibiotics ointment daily on my scar. I want to go back to my normal activities but I can't succeed in making the back of my hair look clean.... my hair is really greasy back there because of the ointment even though I shampoo twice per day with baby shampoo... Any suggestions ? Baby oil maybe?
  5. Hi! I had an FUT about 1 week ago. Things are healing as they should i think, looking good actually. However, I have a lot of trouble sleeping because of pain when applying any kind of pressure to my FUT scar (it goes from one ear to another) when resting my head on the pillow. I know it's still early, but not sleeping at all overnight makes me grumpy ahah! I tried sleeping on my back with two different airplane-type cushions, tried sleeping with a cervical collar, tried sleeping on the side.... no luck. And sleeping on my forehead is out of question as my nose gets way too stuffy this way. And I obviously load myself with acetaminophen and advil during the night (my stronger pain killers and sedatives are finished now) to try and alleviate some of the pain. Any insider's tips on how to manage to sleep with donor scar pain ? Thanks!
  6. I don't think it's silly... As I wrote at the beginning of my thread, I know that one of these two surgeons might be a better fit for some patients, whereas the other one might be a better choice for others. I am trying to figure out who to pinpoint who would be the best for me, as opposed to THE one and only best surgeon.... Both are amazing I am sure. Any other opinions?
  7. Well that's exactly what I wrote : not looking for the best, but looking to compare what they have to offer. Which one is more conservative or aggressive? What are their strength or best know for ? I am from abroad, so consultations are only phone or email, which makes it more difficult to get a feel of how different they are. Any one here with some input ?
  8. Hi! I am planning to do a FUT. After browsing this forum and doing some other research online, I decided I would either go with Konior or Shapiro. I already know I would be in experts' hands in both cases... But I still can't decide. I am not looking to find out who is the best. What I am looking for is to have a better idea of how choosing one or the other would differ on different levels... (patient care, team assistance vs surgeon doing the work, pre and post op patient experience, general approach to the FUT and transplant, etc.). I hope you can find something to guide my decision here! Thanks in advance ))
