  1. Also, 2,000 grafts isn't a lot, and if you are overestimating and really need less than that, then you probably don't really need a transplant. Do yourself a favor and try find a sitter for your pet snake (I am assuming) and head over to Europe. $13,000 will be more than enough to get 2,000 FUE grafts, pay for your flights, pay for your sitter, and you maybe even have some left over to get some action at a FKK club in Germany - only 50 Euro for a BBBJ and a good lay.
  2. Because the European surgeons tend to specialize in FUE, actually produce outstanding results comparable with/better than the US surgeons, and charge between 2-5 Euros per graft compared with US $8-12 the US surgeons charge. It really is a "no brainier" Bottom line, one of the best FUE surgeons in the world is Dr Lorenzo who is in Spain. Very few would dispute this fact.
  3. Yes they do, and no way in hell you will get 2,000 FUE grafts for $13,000 in New York or New Jersey. True & Dorin charge at least $8 a graft for FUE.
  4. If you mean Dr Rahal, then yes he is the best in the business when it comes to hairlines.
  5. Yeah, some surgeons are very stingy with disclosing their pricing. I am convinced that they wait until you walk into the door and then they gauge how well off you are. Then they quote accordingly. i.e. if you walk in with a fancy suit and write in the application form that you work on Wall Street then they will quote you the max. If they think money may be an issue, they lowball.I had the exact same issue with Wesley's clinic not being prepared to even give me an idea of costs until he sees me in person. They also want to get you in the door as its then easier to make the sale on the day. Think about, if you want a used car, and you phone the lot to ask how much their cars cost, they would rather have you come visit in person so they can make the sale, as the probability decreases when trying to do it over the phone. With that being said, Wesley is great, a truly nice guy, and I didn't feel his clinic were anything like a used care salesperson. I had no pressure to book anything.
  6. Did anyone else whatch Ben Affleck on Jinny Kimmel tonight? Thoughts on his hairline? Definitely looks as if he has concealer into what looks like a H&W hairline
  7. Paleo - can you please provide us with an update? You should be coming on 9 months right about now right? Any improvement?
  8. No, if you access the website from Canada, you will get the price in Canadian dollars. I know because I experimented with that when I was in Montreal a month ago, I.e it's $8 US dollars when accessed from the States, and $8 Canadian when accessed from Canada.
  9. Wouldn't going to deep risk transecting the whole graft?
  10. I believe It's Canadian dollars for Canadian citizens, and US dollars for us yanks and all the internationals.
  11. If you are not open to travel, then I can't help you mate.
  12. Dutchie, do you know something that the other top surgeons that just turned him away because he is not a candidate don't know? He just doesn't have enough donor to give him even a chance, and a surgeon told him his body hair isn't suitable and can only get 800 beard hairs. Just look at the pictures, he has a lot of room to cover, even if the crown is left alone.
  13. Wait, so you are saying Topical fin is proven to be more effective than the oral form? If so, why has the industry been so slow to move over to topical Fin then???
  14. yes, that's exactly what I mean. The yield on body hair doesn't come close to that of hair grafts, so definitely not something you should be banking on or relying on. Not trying to be harsh here, just realistic. I was always told during my consultations to always view BHT as a compliment to head grafts to add density and to view it as a nice bonus if takes. I think it is opportunistic to be telling Rashid that he can use his limited grafts and the BHT to get him coverage and that it will be successful. The chances of that seem to be very low. He should be asking if he can get enough head grafts to get coverage over an area and for that to achieve the acceptable aesthetic improvement. If the answer is yes, only then should he proceed with the combination with the use of BHT for a bonus. If the answer is no to the first question, then I don't think it is wise to be proceeding on the basis that the BHT will compensate for the shortfall in donor grafts.
  15. Gentlemen, appriciate what everyone is doing to try give Rashid even the slightest glimmer of hope, however, he has now been advised by some of the top surgeons that he is not a candidate for a transplant. Yes, of course there are going to be a ton of surgeons that will operate on him, but the reality is that he just doesn't have the donor supply, and body hair is just not as reliable. Yes, guys like Umar and Diep can work their magic, but the chances of achieving the same success of these other patients has got to be very low. I think we need to turn our focus to helping Rashid accept that this is very unlikely going to work out for him rather than trying to give him such faint hope. I'm not telling Rashid to give up, and I definitely encourage you to get on Fin or Dust ASAP to see if it can help your donor. This reminds me of the Dumb and Dumber movie where Lloyd asks his love interest what percentage of chance he has of ever hooking up with her, when she said the chances were something like 1 in a trillion, he gets all excited because he has a chance.
  16. Take your time Dutchie, although did Dr Hasson confirm that you are completely stripped out now, or could he still grab another thousand or so? If so, you may want to consider a combo of FUT, FUE, and BHT for your next pass. Karadenitz pops to mind.
  17. Couldn't have said it better myself. I would stick to the top 3 of Lorenzo, Erdogan or Feriduni. Once you go with Shapiro, Konior or Rahal - the price per graft just becomes too expensive whilst quality is not better than the top 3.
  18. You've been given great advice to wait and see how your frontal third grows and matures before commencing crown work, just in case you need to use grafts to touch-up some areas or add density. As the crown area is virgin scalp, and you are switching to FUE, you can technically gets it done pretty early. Are you sticking with Hasson for your next procedure, or would you consider a FUE specialist like Lorenzo?
  19. My surgeon actually pulled the same stunt. The day of surgery pre-op pictures have much different lighting to the 6 month pictures to the 1 year pictures. I did ask them about it, and the reason I was given was that the patient advisor was out of office the day of my surgery (which is true), so the surgeon himself took the pictures and messed up the lighting.
  20. On that subject, whatever happened to Paleo? He went radio silent, did he perhaps actually get some good growth?
