  1. Question, does Dr Rahal quote his price in US dollars or Canadian dollars? I heard on this forum that he quotes in US dollars, yet when the U.S. dollar was stinking the joint up against the Canadian dollar a few years ago, he was quoting Canadian dollars? If you reside in Canada, is the quote still in US $ or Canadian?
  2. Firstly the man is a perfectionalist. He only does 1 procedure a day, is meticulous as hell, and does the majority of the procedure himself, incl graft placement. . Apparently he has been known to quadruple check every single graft before he is satisfied. He also has a 4/5 month waitlist which should tell you all you need to know.
  3. Bill, I don't mean to hijack this thread, but the link you have to your H&W HT procedure write-up doesn't work. Would you mind ending me a link, I. Would love to read about your experience with them. Thanks
  4. I would go after the full refund he previously offered you. Hold him to that!
  5. Thanks David, please keep us updated on this matter.
  6. Thanks buddy - I'll wait to hear from H&W before providing my opinion, but not looking good for them at his point. I'm pondering a procedure from them as well.
  7. Interesting - I always just assumed he was. I'm guessing his clinic posted these results before they got bumped from the recommended list
  8. Couple of questions: 1) did all the grafts go to the crown, or did you also get some hairline work done? 2) are you on Fin and do you use Minox?
  9. Garageland, can you please provide a response and share your side of the story for us?
  10. Lol - that would be the infamous Joe Tillman. He posts frequently on this forum, although no longer works for H&W. Hopefully a representative from H&W can post a response and the moderators can intervene for you. A very surprising result from one of the best FUT surgeons in the world. Am very interested in hearing their side of the story.
  11. All good points to consider. However this guy is going to need a heck of a lot of coverage, and it would be tough to argue against H&W as one of the few clinics that will maximize the number of grafts they can get in a single session, and over his lifetime. Sure they push the envelope, but in this case I think aggressive is the way to go.
  12. That would have been me - lol. Dr Wong is an outstanding surgeon as well - absolutely nothing wrong with him. With the discount they are offering, it sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Would you mind PMing me the discount that they offered you?
  13. Rooney's result was solid initially, but unfortunately he continued to bald post HT - I wonder if he was on Propecia & Rogaine. I believe he has had 2 procedures to date, although the lad uses an excessive amount of Toppic.
  14. I just think Erdogan is recommending a lot more grafts than the others. Sure he overcompensates with the grafts, and if you have enough lifetime donor supply then why not, but it seems excessive compared to the others. On the other hand, anything under 2,000 grafts won't really make much of an aesthetic difference. Tough one
  15. Interesting how only a couple of years ago, 2,000 - 3,000 grafts were considered mega -sessions.
  16. Jeez, that's a huge difference in grafts. I would definitely get another opinion before committing. If multiple surgeons are recommending 1200 to 1600 grafts, and Erdogan is the outlier - that should give you pause. If not, then sounds like Erdogan is your man
  17. Both Belgium and Turkey are cheaper than the UK. Think it's because the costs of overheads are lower. I struggled with this concept too, as I thought the Turkish and Belgium surgeons had to be lower quality than the expensive US surgeons, but that's not the case at all. Erdogan is one of the top FUE surgeons in the world, and Feriduni from Belgium is up there with both FUT & FUE. Bisango posts his prices on his website, and Feriduni is pretty close as well. Erdogan is something like 3 euros a graft. No catch here at all - if you do your research, it will become obvious that these guys are way better than the U.K. Surgeons.
  18. You lost me at this part? "who does not take on close competitors which would prevent him from being productive"
  19. Bill, Just wanted to point out that I myself utilized Joe's mentoring services to decide between various surgeons I was considering. At no point in time did he even try to sell me on the surgeon he is "affiliated" with. He actually advised me, that based on my own facts and circumstances, Dr Ron Shapiro would be the best surgeon for me in his opinion. It was especially surprising seeing that Dr Ron is a competitor of his old bosses. To the best of my knowledge, Joe does not get any form of compensation from Dr Ron Shapiro, so although its still a weird concept to me as to what his affiliation really means, I don't get the impression that those surgeons that are paying him are necessarily his "go to" list of recommended surgeons, just surgeons that are paying him to video tape and make mention of. I can also send you the e-mail correspondence I got from Joe if you need evidence. To date I have not seen any post on this forum where Joe specifically advises a poster to chose or consider his affiliated surgeon. In contrast, I have seen Spex advise posters to consider one of the surgeons he respresents - i.e. he recently advised a poster to consider using Dr Lindsay, and recently another post advising on Dr Feriduni. I could be totally off the mark on this - but just my own experience with Joe.
