  1. Hi Durhamboy, HNY to you too mate. In response to your queries; There is a brand spanking new airport at Chandigarh and you can easily catch a connecting flight via Delhi or Mumbai if you prefer not to experience the 5 hour drive. The forummer Raj_Jayukdht had about 1000 grafts taken from his beard by Dr Bhatti whilst I was in India, as far I can remember from his write-up, everything healed quickly and there was no visible scarring, however your skin characteristics may be different. If you PM him, I'm sure he will get back to you with a helpful reply. Dr Bhatti does offer a no shave technique, I can't see how that is not possible in your case. If you have it shaved I suspect the hair will grow at its normal timeline, however you could speed it up with Biotin supplement, this is prescribed by Dr Bhatti for the initial 6 months post FUE. You might want to query this possibility with Dr Bhatti in your ongoing dialogue. 1-2000 grafts in my opinion should make a significant difference, bear in mind I had only 3300 grafts and it made a world of difference. I suspect once the beard area is healed then there is always the option to revisit that area, however as with the head, once grafts are removed they do not magically grow back. Your beard area is not overly thick so I'm not sure how many grafts you could get the second time round, it may be case of sacrificing some of this area altogether for hair on your head, I've seen this done before. Looking at your beard area, the hairs will be removed from the underside below your chin, here it is not that noticeable and even if some minor scarring does occur it will be hidden pretty well. Sorry for being a bit vague, but I will PM you a more detailed response later. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  2. Hi Upset, I was actually recommending you talk to a Hair Transplant Doctor/Surgeon/Consultant rather than a GP. I would personally think that the world of hair transplantation is beyond the scope of knowledge required for a GP. You could start with talking to someone who has actually been through the whole process and can answer some of the many concerns you may have. I'm sure there are many on this forum who would be more than happy to chat, myself included. _________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  3. The op is based in the UK I assume as he refers to Birmingham and Boots chemists, therefore if you read my comment again you will see that I was referring to some UK clinics, I was actually championing the North American and Euro clinics as they are the ones abroad in this context. I apologise for the confusion.
  4. Hi upset53, thanks for sharing your story, looks to me like you have exhausted all avenues of a meds related comeback for your hair. I kind of went down the same route myself, I think at this stage you may be actually wasting your money on the meds and that same money could perhaps be put to greater use towards a hair transplant procedure. I would suggest you contact a few clinics and get a few free consultations done taking into account always that the clinic will pressure you into a procedure you may well not need, you may not be able to afford, you may get cheaper and better quality result if you go abroad. If you wish to anonymously post your pictures you can easily edit out your facial details, or just wear a pair of sunglasses and a scarf, you will get a much better opinion on where you stand with regards to your hair if forummers can view your pics. If you wish to send the pics privately, them feel free to PM me with further details.. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  5. Hi Darren, If you want to go cheap and not compromise on quality then why not consider a bit further than Europe and Turkey and head to India. I too was in the same situation as you, I didn't want to go to any old doc just because he was cheap, so I went to the much acclaimed Dr Bhatti in India. For a couple of more hours on the plane I saved myself a fortune and got the end result that most can only dream off. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html'>http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html PM me if you wish to discuss any aspects with me, I am based in the UK, currently in London and the Midlands. If you do decide on Turkey then be aware that if the vile acts of terrorism escalate out there, it may well be blacklisted as a place not to visit by the British Government. Probably something to be aware of if you intend paying a hefty deposit. I did read that a member of ISIS had freely travelled across from Syria to have a hair transplant and was arrested post procedure by the Turkish authorities, google it. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  6. I have conquered the wind; the wind is now my friend and as the wind batters and blows all before it and throths with the anger of all eternity, I can only stop and idly stare at such a great force, knowing that I quite enjoy it now more than ever!. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  7. Diet and regular exercise will certainly play some factor, but for some with the heriditory condition of high cholesterol, this may not reduce it significantly to eliminate risk. This is especially prominent in asians originated from the Indian sub-contininent. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  8. When you wash your hair, the scabs should soften up and gently rubbing them will force them to break free and wash away. This is what I did at about Day 8 post procedure, by Day 10/11, all scabs were gone. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  9. I haven't seen the topic discussed before but a simple google search for "Can statin drugs cause hair loss", will prove that hair loss can be a symptom of taking certain statins. According to my search, only atorvastatin (Lipitor) and simvastatin (Zocor) have reported hair loss as an adverse effect, not the newer statin Crestor (rosuvastatin). Probably the dosage is also a contibutory factor. Personally I wasn't aware that statins caused hair loss, so something new learnt there. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  10. Hi Bablu, I'm honoured that my blog inspired you to take the HT leap of faith with Dr Bhatti. It's the main reason I went to all the trouble and seeing results such as yours and the positive difference it will make to your life makes it all worthwhile. I look forward to seeing how you progress, I hope you follow my lead and keep the forum updated. Cheers Shera __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  11. Fantastic work once again by Dr Bhatti, is there anyone really out there who is producing result after result on a par with Dr Bhatti right now. Considering the number of grafts used and the results gained, you have to seriously think not. Like myself, it looks like you are a fast grower, it was compelling to read your story and it was is great that you addressed your hair problem in order to get your life back. Hope the growth continues and your life sparkles back into gear!!! All the best mate. 12. Best wishes for 2016 to all on the forum from me too, may your hair be with you.......always! __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  13. Hi Alex2015, congratulations on your HT with Dr Tejinder Bhatti, here's hoping 2016 brings to you a similar result as mine. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  14. Hi Salr, Sorry for the late reply, it's very difficult to tell whether you could do with a transplant from the picture you have provided. There does seem to be some thinnning in the top mid-section where your scalp is visable but this may be due to your centre-parting style. More detailed pics with your hair pinned back to show the aforementioned area in more details would really help. PM me if you wish to do so. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  15. Hi Salr, If you do a google search for 'spex shock loss' and select the first link, you will find some great info on shock loss written by one of the posters on this forum, Spex. Hopefully that will answer your questions on shock loss and more. If you could post some pics of your hair, then it may be alot easier for forummers to give their opinions on what option you should choose. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  16. This was one of the main reasons why I didn't bother with UK clinics, the charging by the hair. Seriously though, how much more effort is there in taking out and placing a graft with 1 hair as opposed to one with 3 hairs, 3 times the effort??? So you pay 13,750 UK pounds for 5,500 hairs at 2.50 UK pounds per hair at a Harley Street clinic. I paid the equivalent of 3,730 UK pounds for 6,856 hairs at Dr Bhatti's clinic in Chandigarh, India, which works out at 0.54 UK pounds per hair. I would have paid 17,140 UK pounds for the same procedure at a Harley Street clinic. I paid an additional 800 UK pounds for flights, hotel etc, but I got to chill out proper and experience India for a week too. For some, making the effort to travel is a no brainer, for others, they probably have way too much money and way little time. Or they may have the same phobia as BA Baracus, "I ain't gettin on NO plane fool!" __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  17. Hi Vpac, Dr Koray Erdogan is also an excellent surgeon, I have seen some of his work in person and it is very good. However if you made an enquiry in any other area besides a hair transplant and no-one got back to you within 9 days, would you still pursue that enquiry or would you entertain your choice as a consumer and go somewhere else. I know which option I would choose. If no-one can be bothered to get back to you for even an enquiry, then this should ring alarm bells in your head, what chance that someone will get back to you should the procedure not go as planned further down the line. Also I would like to personally converse with my surgeon rather than go through a translator. Again, imagine the difficulty in trying to express a later concern through a translator! Another doctor in Turkey you could try is Dr Kyriakos Maras, he is also recommended by this site or you could consider Dr. Bijan Feriduni in Belgium. There are others, why don't you try the 'Consult a Physician' link at the top of this page. For FUE in India, I can really only recommened Dr Bhatti having experienced the quality and international standards of his state of the art clinic. I have seen results from other FUE clinics in India(Ludhiana, Mumbai) and the quality is more suited to the locals who just want some hair rather than no hair. As for international quality, the standards, the procedure and the results are well below par. Something for you to think about. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  18. Hi Techie, I would agree with HTsoon, we have already identified that you are a slow grower, but when comparing your recent photos with the last ones, I can see a noticeable difference. The main thing is you are progressing, it may just take a year before you can actually see what your final result will resemble but if I compare my photos to yours, you are on the right track. Keep your chin up, you'll get there. Shera __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  19. Hi Vpac, you are right in saying the price of going to see Dr Bhatti in India is very favourable right now when you consider the current exchange rate for the UK Pound. As for the natural hairline, I think Dr Bhatti's recent work has evolved to address any hairline issue that may have historically existed and his hairlines are now on a par with the worlds best......in my opinion. I certainly don't have any issues with the hairline he created for me and it certainly has never been pointed out as being anything less than spectacular with regards to where I started. Personally if I wasn't comfortable with a surgeon doing my hairline, I certainly wouldn't let him anywhere near my crown. I would advise you to get all the work completed by the same surgeon in one visit if possible. If you wish to see Dr Bhatti's work in person, just let me know, I will PM you my details. Again I hope that helps. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  20. Or you could pay a whole lot less and get a lot lot more abroad, there's enough examples on this site to back up this argument. __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  21. Hi Vpac, When making my decision with whom to go with, I was influenced by the research I did prior to booking my HT. I read through numerous patient reviews and results and shortlisted a number of doctors like you have already done so. I didn't want to pay silly money in the UK to have my HT performed by a relatively unknown doctor, surely if his results were that good, at least some of his patients would be inclined to document their fantastic results online. I also felt uneasy with the hard sell approach I experienced in the Uk. I extensively searched the internet for posts, interviews and articles by my shortlisted doctors, and I must say I also searched for complaints. I also viewed facebook and linkedin profiles. All this helped me build up a character profile and the next question I asked myself was, would I feel comfortable with this doctor performing HT on me? The professionalism of the website and general communication via email was also a swaying factor in my final decision. In the end I went for Dr Bhatti and I haven't looked back since. I suppose another thing you could do is actually go out and meet past patients if they are OK with that. Seeing the results and talking about the experience of others in person will help you make your final decision. I could be a start. I sincerely hope the above helps you and your final decision is the best decision for you.........All the best! __________________________________________________ Dr Bhatti FUE Oct 2014 3305 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178931-my-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-oct-2014-a.html
  22. After 6 months the hair is still growing, I did see a chart on this site that indicated that you are only 60% there after 6 months so there is much more thickening and growth to follow. Bablu, as for visual change , if you follow my links above to my monthly picture posts, you can clearly see the actual visual change for yourself.
  23. Hi Hairsearch21, To be honest, I don't think anybody can expect a result after 3 months, I knew the 3 month stage would not look too good from my research and reading through the experiences of others. The waiting wasn't too much a problem, I just forgot about it and carried on as normal, I think it helped that I didn't raise my expectations too high. At 3 months from what I can remotely recall, I was getting most of the feeling back in my scalp band so a little itchiness was common, I think. At this stage I let the hair grow, no more buzzing. As for me being satisfied with the density of my transplant, I think I was confident from the start that I would get a good result, even the techs told me this because of the quality of my donor hair. Because my results were constantly improving month by month I could actually see the density and hair quality improving so I was not worried at any stage. I would say at 6 to 7 months I could confidently call my HT a complete success story for the first time. Hope I addressed some of your concerns and thanks again for your comments.
