  1. In terms of density FUT will beat FUE every time as there's approx 20% better survival. As far as FUT being before FUE it's fairly common knowledge. FUE thins out the donor making it harder to hide a strip scar so if you want both FUT should be done first
  2. Also at 23 with that much hair loss I'd want to be maximising usage of grafts so you need to be on meds and I'd personally have FUT first. If you just have FUE you're limiting your graft count considerably. You can have FUE after FUT but not really the other way around. For strip personally I'd consider hasson, konior or Shapiro
  3. Rahal has techs extracting for FUE and techs implanting, he just makes the lateral slits. Personally if I were having FUE I'd go to a doc that does extractions, but that's just me
  4. My thoughts are that FUE would be a mistake at this point, FUE into a scar isn't as reliable as FUE into healthy tissue... And FUE into healthy tissue is nowhere near as successful as FUT. You also have the problem of a wide scar meaning more grafts will be needed. You'll be using up a lot of FUE grafts and by filing in the scar you won't want to do another strip. IMO you need to consult a top FUT guy who can take out the scar and get grafts in a new strip at the same time and close with staples. This will improve the frontal area and make the scar a lot smaller. You don't want to be messing around with surgeons who aren't top notch at this point so I'd consider maybe either Dr Hasson in Vancouver (the best IMO), Dr Konior or Dr Ron Shapiro. I really wouldn't risk it with anyone else at this point
  5. No worries mate, not that Dr Hasson needs the promo but Im very appreciative and I hope it helps sharing my experience. You were very helpful and it was great to meet you! your hair looked really great in person too mate (not that it doesn't in pics). thanks again. It feels unbelievable mate, all I get is complements these days, where do u get your hair cut, how do you style your hair like that, your hairs looking thick etc. Long way from when i wouldn't remove my baseball cap because i was embarrassed having people look at my hair! it used to really bother me and affect my social life! Thanks David, means a lot coming from you, a person thats seen more cases than most Thanks for the kind words, it has been a long road but tbh I could've actually stopped after the first Hasson procedure, the rest has been fine tuning. its actually not been that bad though Ive enjoyed all the time is spent in vancouver Thanks Sean, I hope everything is starting to work out for you, i remember following your progress a few months ago and i know you've had issues, hope things are starting 2 work out for u mate, if anyone deserves a good result its you!
  6. Yes it's very possible, but make sure you choose wisely. I can personally recommend dr hasson
  7. For me it's all about consistency and although when Rahal gets it right it's outstanding I feel he doesn't consistently do it enough for me so personally I wouldn't recommend him but it's like with anything, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm going to check out some Shapiro results though because I've never really looked at any of his threads.
  8. Obviously there are going to be those cases with any doctor, I just feel Rahal has had more than usual lately that's why personally I'd rule him out. I personally don't think there's another surgeon in dr hassons level and for me I can't recommend him enough
  9. Based on what I've seen I could narrow it down to hasson, konior and Lorenzo. These are the 3 I've noted the most patient satisfaction and the least complaints, but ultimately only you can choose who feels right to you. Personally I wouldn't add Rahal like stig suggested, there have been a few sub standard cases I've seen over the last year or so. Shapiro is never really someone I looked into personally so I can't comment
  10. Thank you:) the doctors you are considering are all good choices IMO. Obviously I'm going to recommend dr hasson but I don't think you'll go far wrong with any of the 5 doctors you have short listed. Personally I wouldn't add any to that shortlist
  11. I attempted to take donor pics on page 2 of this thread. But yeah apparently I have pretty stretchy skin
  12. From personal experience, without a doubt! Although there are many great cases by the other 2 docs. I just think personally no one is as consistent as dr hasson. When dr hasson does a case like this where there's minimal hair loss and it's appropriate to dense pack then what your gonna get is outstanding results 99.9999% of the time. People just don't look towards H&W exclusively for hairlines because they take on so many large cases where the loss isn't confined to the front third. I guarantee you this though, you won't find any other clinic with so few unsatisfied customers. I've had experience with 2 other recommended and highly regarded clinics as well as H&W and the difference is night and day. Not just with yield but patient care, professionalism, aftercare and most importantly results.
  13. Wow, just looking at a few H&W results that I haven't seen and this one is amazing! That density in one pass is ridiculous! When appropriate dr hasson can give the best hairlines out there! I think hairline God can be trademarked since there's a pretender to the the hairline throne trademark!lol
  14. lol yeah that was me mate, i was in 2 minds.... can't say i really listened to anyone in the end, it was something that still bothered me so i decided to get it sorted. I think it turned out to be the right choice because it was a small amount of grafts, which have made an enormous difference and to top it all off there was a nice improvement in the post op strip scar, so win-win:)
  15. Thanks mate, I was actually looking at your new hairline with envy the other day! If that grows in the way it should it's going to look ridiculously good!
  16. sorry about the crude editing of the face, also its a bit difficult trying to get a good selfie of the back of my head!lol hope these are ok for people to see the donor? Thanks 4 making me post these and realise how grey I'm going!!lol I'll take some donor pics soon with my hair slashed back and someone else taking the pics so you can see better but these will have to do for now. no complaints with the donor though, still pretty thick and apparently 4000 FUE-able grafts there as an insurance policy
  17. via strip probably not a lot, doubt I'll have enough for another strip. however before the last op i was in 2 minds about strip or FUE (due to the small size of the last op) so i had a consultation with lorenzo and he said i had 4000 available for FUE. i decided on strip because of the trust i have in dr hasson and the results I've always had with him and judging by those results i made the right choice for me. but its good to know i have another 4000 available to me if i get any future loss, and the best thing is that H&W have started doing FUE so if i ever do need it done by that time I'm sure they also be knocking FUE cases out the park!
  18. Lol yeah that's the previous grafts. Take a look at the link to the previous thread. Since then I've had 1000 grafts into the crown and hairline work so the results since , while noticeable are more subtle
  19. Thanks for the replies, the kind words are much appreciated! I'll try and get some pics of the donor and temple points over the next few days, but if you look in the link in the OP you can see the temple points and the donor in the old thread, to be honest it doesn't look noticeably different.
  20. Including the 2000 from the previous clinic which didn't grow through brilliantly about 10,000 approximately. Hair isn't dyed in any of the pics so not sure why it appears different tbh, maybe different camera/different lighting edit: on the 1 year post op faro pics theres no product in my hair, all other pics have product so that may be a reason why they look lighter, although since the last op more and more people are commenting that my hair looks darker (and thicker)
