  1. While I agree with some points, I don’t think it’s right to post this on a patient journey. Having surgery is stressful enough. If you have these concerns I would create a separate thread and not put it on someone’s journey. Journey’s are for encouragement and help, not seeding doubt.
  2. Dear Community, Join me in congratulating @De Freitas Clinic on becoming recommended and approved on the Hair Transplant Network. After receiving an enormous amount of positive feedback, from both patients and physician colleagues, we have decided to approve Dr. De Freitas into our network. I have personally been impressed by the quality, skill, and talent of Dr. De Freitas, I plan on visiting his beautiful clinic next year and sharing my experience on the forum. Take a look at Dr. De Freitas profile and feel free submit a free virtual consultation.
  3. Oh ok, definitely good you’re consult with plenty. Have you seen Dr. De Freitas?
  4. Man its stories like this that really make me mad. I wish our community could reach the tens of thousands that go to these black market clinics before they make the decision. Your donor is definitely overharvested. However, I can't really see the sides, it looks like they may have concentrated the extractions in the back of the scalp. Do you have pictures of the sides with short hair? It will help us a bit better to see if you have some grafts that are still viable. We have some excellent surgeons who can help fix your issue, but of course, at this point you need to focus on quality. Repairs are usually a little more expensive as it is more labor intensive and it may require you laser or have some of those grafts extracted out. If you need help reaching a certain doctor or clinic please pm me and I will reach out to them on your behalf. We're here for support man, we will help you.
  5. It’s a shame because there are some good doctors in Turkey, but their model has ruined it for many of the good ones. I remember there was a doctor who did everything himself, this was in 2015, he refused to let techs do everything. Recently I heard he’s turned into a hair mill to compete, very sad.
  6. Glad our community could help you, a forum is a place where guys go once and leave, but we’re a community. Which is why I fell in love with this place 7 years ago.
  7. Yes, I actually had big plans for visiting many of our clinics. I had announced it in 2019, and then covid happened. Ideally, we like to pay our clinics a visit and view them in surgery every few years, if they can find a consenting patient. Most recently I visited Dr. Mohebi on Monday and did a live Q&A while filming the surgery. It was great I suggest you check it out on Instagram. In terms of how we maintain quality control, we look to you guys (the patient/consumer). We removed two surgeons within a years time based on the feedback of our community. At this time, with travel restrictions it’s impossible to visit a clinic before putting them up for recommendation. That is why we look for the input and feedback of our community, the saying “strength in numbers” is true for our community. It’s why we are unique and why physicians want to align themselves with a community that provides credibility. I have plans to reach out to some of these clinics as well later this year, but becoming recommended takes two. We’ve had surgeons remove themselves from consideration, for fear of negative feedback on an open forum. Some of our competitors have even tried to sway surgeons away from joining because of our open forum and because we value transparency. I can understand the apprehension, but I’ve always found that most of our community is fair and reasonable. Even having this open dialogue and discussion shows a great deal of transparency, which is the foundation of trust and credibility. It’s essential.
  8. Dr. Konior is like barry bonds with all these home runs. Outta the stadium ⚾️ 🏟
  9. Nadimi is a great surgeon, she’s up there with the best of them.
  10. Great post, let’s stick on topic. We got a little off topic on the hairline. But I agree 💯 percent. Lower than 2.5 per graft and the quality is lowered. There are few and I mean few clinics that charge less that are still good.
  11. What forum have you been looking at? It’s definitely the opposite, most guys here get Norwood 2 hairlines. It is very very rare to see someone go from a II to a I.
  12. Can you share pictures. I believe at this stage it would be a bit rare, is it in the donor or recipient? Pictures would help.
  13. Yea when I shaved my head I had this idea that I was gonna look bad ass, but instead I looked like this It was at that time I said HT is a must.
  14. Yea the DHT trash hormone is nonsense to me. Your body wouldn’t produce a hormone unless it was necessary, even cortisol which has a lot of negative effects is beneficial when needed. He appeals to the younger 20-25 year old generation. The guys who look up to bravado and arrogance. I do like some of what he does, especially when it comes to hairguard. But hopefully he can be more balanced in the future, especially since you are right, he’s influencing a younger generation. I’m pretty sure Kevin’s around my age too. He might be doubling down because it’s making him more popular.
  15. Very well said, it’s like bringing up Ronald Reagan who was a phenom and thinking that will be natural for everyone. A hairline like sir Alex Ferguson (79 years old) looks a lot more natural and a better base for comparison in my opinion.
  16. Who was the first person to be honest and tell you that you were losing it? For me, it was one of my friends who first said I had a receded hairline back in 07 I was 21. But then in 2014 I had a really close friend tell me it was time to shave. That’s when I took the plunge, at the time it was devastating, but looking back I’m glad I stopped living in denial. Let’s hear some stories
