  1. How do you feel about it, sv? What does your surgeon say, and what was discussed pre-op in terms of approach and expectations?
  2. Rootz, seriously, how can you compare the two? You have to take into consideration the caliber of hair and breakdown of grafts. The Lorenzo patient clearly has a thicker caliber of hair, whereas Dr. Lindsey states that this patient has fine hair. One of the advantages of FUE is that the surgeon can cherry pick grafts and I've noticed that a lot of Lorenzo's cases are stacked with 2s, which would naturally increase density. I don't think this has anything to do with yield. That said, it does appear that this patient still has to work a 'comb over' to cover the mid-scalp area, but at least now he has a decent hairline.
  3. Any surgeon in general? Or just FUE in particular? I might agree with you on the latter. However, I think that's hard to judge when it comes to solely evaluating hairlines. All the top FUE guys show fantastic yields. But for overall coverage, Lorenzo amazes.
  4. I would agree with what Blake says. Konior adds that the crown is a sort of 'black hole' of hair restoration. I think he means you can exhaust a lot of precious grafts on it. And hair loss sufferers can't afford to waste too many. I saw some crown work posted on here recently that I thought was phenomenal, but unfortunately I didn't bookmark it and can't remember the surgeon. But I know it was done by FUE. I've been more focused on hairlines the past couple of years for my own research purposes, and while I've meticulously reviewed both Bisanga's and Feriduni's hairline work, I'd have to take a closer look at their crown work. For some reason, I think I recall seeing some great crown work by Feriduni. I'm sure Bisanga can deliver as well. I'm hoping I don't have to go down that path, but my crown is definitely weakening as the years progress.
  5. I did a lot of research before and after my procedure and I have never heard of anyone doing LLLT. Just my .02?, but I would stop it immediately. Did you do that after your other three procedures? Also, what is different this time in terms of what you were taking/doing at the time of the other procedures vs what you are now?
  6. Is your surgeon located where you can go see him? You can google anything health-related and come up with worst case scenarios, so I'm hoping due to lack of any physical symptoms, nothing out of the ordinary is going on. I went back and read your original post, and if this your first time around with Propecia and Rogaine, I wouldn't be surprised if that had something to do with that. I don't know what LLLT treatments are, but it seems you are exposing your hair to a lot of possible shed cycles, all in a compressed period of time while your scalp is trying to recover from the 'shock' of surgery. Like I said, it only took a minor shed on Rogaine after taking it for 10 days for me ditch the stuff. I watched a video from Dr. Feller where he advises you try and get through those shed cycles because it's normal, but I couldn't handle it.
  7. I feel like I made an informed decision after doing a lot of research - talking to people, studying results and having consultations with various doctors and clinics. I'm only 4 1/2 months out so I can't comment on whether I'm happy with my results. I look to be on track and am cautiously optimistic at this point. I don't think I'd do it differently and feel confident about who I chose to perform my HT. I'm glad people post their results on here for others to review, but it's not something I'm comfortable doing for various reasons.
  8. No doctor can guarantee that a scar won't stretch, no matter how good he or she is. You can certainly minimize the risk if you choose well, but even the good docs have cases of donor scars stretching from time to time. I think one surgeon on here said he sees around 4 cases of it a year and really has no explanation for it. Please do more research before you make a decision. I won't try to convince you either way (I had FUT) but each individual's situation is unique and they should develop a strategy that best suits their needs - that is, after carefully considering their options.
  9. The guy is a machine and the results speak for themselves. Incredibly passionate about what he does.
  10. These guys are obvious. What about the trickier ones to detect, like Clooney. His hairline shape seems to have changed quite a bit from his ER days.
  11. A pluggy one at that constructed with mostly 2s it seems.
  12. Do they influence us or do we influence them to do something about their looks when box offices sales for their movies start to decrease? Or their careers are slumping or aren't going anywhere and you have casting agents telling them what kind of actors are getting the parts. The pressure is pretty high on actors in this business (I work in it). They are an incredibly insecure bunch.
  13. Touch your cheek first with the compress to make sure it's not too hot. It would usually clear up the acne in 2-3 days for me. And you should be able to find a similar shampoo there or order it off of Amazon. It's also SLS-free.
  14. Just warm compresses three or four times a day. I also used a really mild shampoo called California Baby sensitive body wash and shampoo.
  15. Of course he does! Jackman's hairline is very similar in shape to Konior's hairlines. Must be his inspiration.
  16. So is the general public, Mickey. Why would they be any different than us when it comes to their hair? In fact, their livelihood depends on their appearance.
  17. The affected area is behind where the grafts were placed? If so, looks like shock loss. Who is your surgeon?
  18. Definite improvement. What size hole punch did you use, Dr. Frank? And it would be great to see a photo of his hairline pushed back even though it doesn't appear that is where the majority of grafts were placed. Was this more for added density than hairline restoration?
  19. Keep us posted, spartan, and welcome to the forum. My experience on here so far has been that almost everything I've gone through has been discussed or experienced by someone else. Grow well and good luck.
  20. My acne has cleared up, but in a couple of the areas where it was the worst, it is still noticeably reddish - in these patches and nearby there is little or no growth. It's less than dime-sized, but it is in the center area right behind the hairline where I'll need density. Must be the use of 2s and 3s there.
  21. Hey there Yaz. Could be folliculitis. Could be acne. Probably a sign of activity/growth. The areas where I had the most acne are the slowest growing, with some small patches where there is little or no growth. Have you contacted Dr. Erdogan?
  22. My surgeon recommended that I alternate between Nizoral, Neutrogena T-Gel and Neutrogena T-Sal, using each twice a week, taking a day off for the seventh day of the week and using my preferred shampoo. Once things are under control he suggested I consider using each of these once a week along with my shampoo on the other days. I substituted Regenepure for Nizoral due to the things I've read about it causing shedding. I'm about three weeks into this regiment and things have gotten better, but not entirely cleared up.
  23. If you're committed to staying in the area, and it doesn't appear that you are (I live in NYC), the guys mentioned above are a good place to start - Feller, Wesley, True & Dorin. I traveled to Chicago for mine (Konior). I wasn't going to let travel or money be the deciding factors. I consulted with Wesley, H&W, Bisanga and SMG, but once I met Dr. Konior, I knew he was the guy.
