  1. I don't see any crown loss, so your just looking at front 1/3 and I'm shocked Rahal is not in your list. If you have no crown loss, you need to give him the Rahal clinic a first second look. Also Keller in Chicago. With your type of loss, I would think you would be more concerned with the hairline and keep that metro 'pretty' thing you have. So both of those doctors deserve a look. There is also a doc in India that does FUE, who has been showing some impressive results. I just usually consider the Wong/Hanson team for big jobs, but obviously they are super skilled and the results are consistently awesome "I read Dr. Lindsay (I think) talked about removing the sutures on day 7 to minimize "railroad tracks". Other doctors all seem to say 10-14 days. Thoughts? " Of course it depends on your laxity, BUT I think Lindsey is just absolutely wrong on this point. I would rather have the 'possible railroad tracks' rather than a 'possible wide scar'. Take the sutures or staples out to soon and the scar can and will stretch. AKA me. I have also consulted with several docs and all say the same thing 10 to 14 days. BUT of course it depends on your laxity.
  2. A 5A will need more then one HT. A single HT will cover 'some' of the front, and will not give you the density you desire. You should meet with a doc in person, and let me them see your head, examine your loss, and look at your laxity. You need to know if your 5A pattern will become a 6. You need to know how many grafts you have and what type of hair you have. A 5A is a completely separate best, and $$$$$. Talk to other 5A on this board, and talk to the Docs directly.
  3. Met with these guys.. get a warm and fuzzy. Besides the price, and the website, which bothers me. Obviously some other clinics are forced to charge more because of their full time paid mouth piece, member fees, commissions etc.. HT Colorado, do speak the lingo, had the right toys, and their recommendations where spot on. Said my Lindsey scar could be rectified. They mention how the would treat my HT because of thin hair. Talked about laxity was great, just like Ferris. I will say this. After having with met with Ferris, and HT Colorado. A in person consultation is x10000 better then sending pics and doing it over email.
  4. Don't count on any remedy coming along in the near future. Histogen is the rage right now, but it will pass. Then something else will come up, and it will pass. I remember in 1990 I saw a commercial for Rogaine. Thinking that something else would have come out to take its place. If your serious about a HT. We need some info. Some pics of your head. It's all about where your hair loss is going and where it will stop.. If a doc is suggest FUT, I would guess you need mucho grafts, and your HT is progressive. Take some good frontal, and top. We need to know if your losing your hair in the front or the crown, OR both areas.
  5. I never understood the importance of hair quality before jumping into HT. You have thick thick dark hair your results should come out good. With your type of loss, and hair type you have the luxury of playing with a dense hair line. I'm curious how your hairline will come through. Not sure your age, or your expected NW level, but I would have been very tempted to go with FUE, especially with the results being posted lately. Might even kept a little bit of the recession instead of going straight across. Make sure to schedule with a local ht doc or plastic surgeon to get your sutures removed.
  6. Most but not all?? Reads like your hair loss is mostly a mental body disfigurement issue. I strongly encourage you to talk to a psychiatrist to get the proper appropriate help you need.
  7. What always makes me wonder. If you "have most of my hair back due to propecia" WTF are you doing here? IF I was in your shoes, I would give a hearty thanks and leave...
  8. My opinion, is if you can stay then do it. The doc who put the sutures in will be the doc who takes them out. Keeps the accountability with the clinic Of course scheduling with a local hair doc to do it is a brilliant idea as well. I wish I had factored that in.
  9. No s***!! I met with him a few months ago about my wide and big Dr. Lindsey scar He seem pragmatic, realistic.. just not a super warm and fuzzy I will re-engage. Obviously not a sales guy but a doctor. He was asking $5 a graft, and I was like you got to do better then price vs Rahal. who is just insane good.
  10. Apparently it has a transection rate of less than 2% That is amazing.. any US doctors using that?
  11. This is your double, AND you get to visit India. Your going to become international !!!! http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169654-fue-asap.html
  12. "I use a little green tinted redness concealer with a mineral foundation over top and it did a pretty good job." Yes, green will neutralize the red.
  13. "why would he stop posting after 5 months though" because the results were good enough he doesn't think about us anymore : )
  14. Amazing, very good graft placement.
  15. That is an amazing price. Hairfunk, have you considered leaving the temples and just enforcing the existing hair you have now? Recession is manly, for example look at Jude Law... Lets say you get that hairline, and the meds don't work. If your hairless does not stabilize you will need a 2nd HT. You have a lot of existing hair that will disappear. That hair line will need another HT. Body hair and bear hair is "recommended" for the crown, I have read.
  16. "This is as the hair would not be as densly packed beside each other as a natural head of hair therefore when grown out allows much more the ability to 'Curtain' the gaps between grafts. " Excellent point.
  17. I know you are not thrilled with the thickness, and honestly its not going to meet your expectations. That's why you will read about illusion of density. The HT is going to give a picture quality of a full head of hair. If you do the math, we know that you can't have a THICK full head of hair based on the available grafts That being said, I think your results are really impressive.. your going to be able to come and style your hair, and it frames your face very nicely.
  18. BTW I am not a doctor. I simply have a picture of a doctor to give me the "illusion" of much more credibility. I am very much PRO HT, as you can easily see the impressive transformation. I just want to steer people in the right direction so they are happy in end
  19. HairFunk has a good plan, except it does not allow any room for error. What if the 2nd HT doesn't take, or the 3rd? He is also planning on medication that has not even come out yet. His hair loss is aggressive as well. He is 27 going easily toward a NW5A. He wants his youth thick hairline back that will not happen. He will get a great 1st HT, and then after going through further loss, the HT will become see through, because of his hair type. Does he know his 3 part plan is 30 thousand dollars minimum via Strip, and much much more via Fue? Is Fue a viable option for this guy? Personally I don't think so.. Should he restore his hairline to its former glory. I don't think that will work either. We need to ask the question for him that he is not going to ask. And YES, one of those is what if the HT sucks. What's next? Cause I'm telling you when your HT sucks, its a different ball game. I think a HT is good step for this guy if the Meds do not work. Stick with the meds hope they take. If you can't wait, will help guide in you in the right direction, and make sure all your variables are covered. The sales people should not be the ones convincing you. You should be going to them knowing you want them. Look at results period.
  20. " im at the point where the results have settled and it looks no different than it did at 7 months. i was fed spin after spin everytime a legitimate concern was expressed. im too bitter to post my results" haha, me too. I don't think your bitter, you obviously back here and wanting to give back, and help someone avoid the pitfalls you fell into.
  21. SLOW DOWN. You are moving way to fast. " Histogen or Anderans gets released in 4/5 years time to halt any further loss" 1. Your betting on something that has proven 99% to not happen. 2. 4 months on your meds is to early to tell. We don't know whats going in that department. Maybe Fin will restore your hair, and we never have to talk again : ) 3. Worse case scenario, all things fail, and you need a HT. You are on your way to a NW5A. 1500 Fue is not going to be enough. Maybe, maybe you can restore a high hairline with 1500 fue, then what? Your expected future loss a NW5A, FUE is not going to be practical. You will need a strip, and a lot of grafts. First step, know this "A HT is never going to give you the super awesome 19 year old hair." Your hair cannot be made super thick with a HT like you were 19. You need to think about who you will be at 34. You need to consult, with at least 3 to 5 doctors. Send your pics, get some feedback. Get a in person consultation, need to find your donor and scalp laxity. You are ready, I get it.. but lets continue to gather some data.
  22. Normally I would say NO, and don't bother posting pics, because you have to wait the standard 12 to 18 months. But your description demands pictures
