  1. I think both of these surgeons are really solid when it comes to their FUE work. Some have stated that they feel that Edrogan and some of the other Turkish docs don't take into account donor preservation for future procedures that younger patients will likely need. if I was 25-35 this would be a concern. His graft estimates seem to be be on the high end. On the inverse of this he also seems to be able be max out potential donor capacity and he has several patients in which he lists their donor capacity at 8500-10000 grafts. He is pure manual FUE which I feel is the best extraction method to protect those precious grafts. I am not a fan of the wet/dry before and after photos. I am not sure why the clinic presents their results in this fashion as I feel that would be very good either way. I think the lack of transparency on the before/after tends to bother some. Overall I think for the money he is a very solid option for. FUE work and his pricing structure is very FAIR. Feriduni is also an excellent surgeon and is one of the best options for FUE work. His results are typically quite strong. He is tough to get an appointment with and some have said he is booked out as far as 9-12 months. As you mentioned I think he focuses more on the smaller FUE sessions as opposed to Dr E who seems to constantly be doing larger FUE SESSIONS. HIS temple and hairline work is quite impressive and natural as well. I think his pricing is fair but is a little higher than what Dr E. Charges. As Gram mentioned the recent 6 month result for Dr F. Is a bit concerning but the next 2-3 months that could change. I think both are solid and everyone will have an opinion on who they prefer especially former patients. I would look at your individual case and weigh the pros/cons of each surgeon and see which surgeon best fits YOUR needs and proceed form their.
  2. I think that Umar is top notch when it comes to BHT but as far as standard FUE work I don't think he is on par with some of the other top docs. $7/graft is way too high for any FUE Procedure. His extractions not being manual would also be a concern. Dr Diep has shown some impressive results and I hope we can see more patient posted results as we have reason to be excited about his potential. He appears to be very hands on with his procedures and I like his aggressive approach. Despite this $6-7/per graft is too high for a FUE procedure. It is refreshing to a see a top FUE doc like Diep engage in the bulk of the procedure which is uncommon in the US. The top FUE surgeons are charging significantly less; Lorenzo Bisanga Feriduni Mwamba As we discussed is another thread the cost to run a clinic in Europe is often higher than in the US. There should be no reason as to why we are being charged nearly double in the US for work that clearly is not as good.
  3. Great question about the Choi pen. I hope we could get Dr Vories to respond & provide his input regarding this. Look forward to following Dr Vories future FUE work now that he has stopped using Neograft.
  4. I think the work looks pretty clean and donor appears to be healing well. What extraction method/tool was used and what tool was used to do the implantation of the procedure. How is the S5 cream working as a replacement to the propecia and RU58841? Have you experienced any sides with this and does it seem to be helping. I wouldn't worry about the shock loss too much as most of that hair will return that wasn't going to go anyways. Best of luck with your results. Looks good so far! Please keep your thread updated so we can follow your progress.
  5. Agree with the potential of Vories. I think I read somewhere that Dr Vories spent some time with Lorenzo so that is a positive a well!
  6. This issue was recently discussed in another thread. The best options at the moment are in Europe and you typically see better results and cheaper prices. If you are limited to the US there aren't many options. As one poster suggested Vories is at $4/graft and he no longer uses the Neograft which is a good thing IMO. I have not seen enough of his recent manual work to fully endorse but he may be worth looking into. I would take the time to,do,your research and choose someone who does quality work at a reasonable price. Those two variables are tough to find in the US if you are looking at FUE. Turkey/India are both options that may be worth looking into.
  7. I think that several of the clinics that you mentioned are performing multiple procedures per day. Rahal & Shapiro have multiple procedures going on the same day. I would think this along with the heavy involvement of techs would help offset the need to charge $7-$8 per graft? As these clinics become effective and efficient with their FUE work hopefully the price is more reflective of what the top European clinics offer. We could use more quality & economical FUE options in the US. I think we can all agree on that.
  8. I know you suggested the number of good FUE surgeons based your "theory" on but I don't think we have anywhere near 20 solid options in the US? I don't know if we have 3-5 elite FUE surgeons in the US? Do we have any?? Please provide some examples of 4000-5000 Grafts FUE by a US surgeon that has been a success and I could be persuaded otherwise. We may be simply dealing with a supply vs demand issue as FUE is the future of HT's and is in high demand at the moment.
  9. I agree with several of the prior posts. We are paying more in the US for FUE and the results are not on par with the top European surgeons. The clinics in the US know that travel is a major issue for most Americans. Americans generally don't travel outside of the US even for vacations and typically have limited time off from work which limits our options. The clinics and surgeons are aware of this and their high FUE rates are reflective. The cost of running a clinic in Europe is typically higher than in the US. My brother is a physician and ran a clinic in Norway for two years and in the US going on five years. The expense in Norway was far greater than his expenses here in the states. This is an isolated scenario but an example no less. I think until more patients start electing to have their work done overseas we aren't going to see a major drop in pricing structure in the states. I personally wouldn't have an issue paying a little more if the results supported the increased pricing in the US. This just isn't the case presently and the US surgeons have a lot of ground to make up to be considered elite FUE. How many solid 4000-5000k FUE cases are we seeing? A couple every week it seems. What about a solid 4000-5000K FUE case in the US? These are quite rare from my research. Most FUE work being done in the states is also being done by the techs with multiple procedures going on. Despite all of these we are still stuck paying $5-$10/ per graft in the US!?! This is quite frustrating and I hope that this changes in the near future!
  10. So if this patient isn't satisfied and decides not to pursue an additional procedure then how will you reconcile what the patient perceives to be a poor result? 2/3/15 "That would depend on my assessment of his growth. If his growth was excellent but he was still not satisfied, I'd probably offer 100-200 complimentary grafts. Again, not because anything went wrong, but because its better to have a happy patient." 2/5/15 "I wouldn't place only 200 grafts. I would add 200 complimentary grafts to a second session, if he chose to have another procedure." It may be a little misleading stating that the option of 200 grafts is now only available if he elects to have an additional procedure? I don't think that 200 grafts for this gentleman will do much based on the images that were attached. I commend you Dr Haber on being transparent and presenting these results. My personal opinion is that this is a poor result but as you mentioned it still has some time to thicken up so that could possibly change in time. Look forward to updates.
  11. It would depend on how you healed and the size punch that was used. I have shaved mine to a 1 guard several times I can barely notice. The punch sizes on my procedure were 0.9-1.0 if that helps I personally would think it would be extremely difficult for anyone else to notice. We are often our own worst critics and are aware the procedure took place. My my experience the shorter I have the donor area the less likely I am to notice a difference in density, texture, angles etc... The longer I wear my hair in those areas I am able to feel a slight loss of density in the donor area from were I was at pre op. Hope this helps.
  12. That is a great point KO . It appears that they lacked the foresight that FUE was the future of HT's. All this happens while they tried to continue convincing prospective patients that FUT was the gold standard. Those ambitious FUE cases that you refer supposedly weren't even possible according to the some of the best US FUT docs/reps just a few years ago. Where are they to defend their stances now.
  13. I think Dr Diep is as good of FUE surgeon as we have in the US. His rates however for FUE are quite high compared to the other top FUE surgeons. As BUSA mentioned it is tough to justify this additional cost when you can simply coordinate your procedure out of the country and relax at your hotel for a week after the procedure. You are still in a much better place financially with comparable or often better results. My opinion is that Americans are very reluctant to travel abroad (which clinics are aware of) and the US FUE surgeons capitalize on this this by charging rates that are as much as $5-$10/graft. All the top docs in Europe are charging $2.50-$5/graft and have more experience and better or comparable results. The involvement of techs tends to be more prominent in the US as well. On top of paying more for the procedure you have a tech driven experience despite paying top dollar for the surgeon that you have elected to do the procedure with. Diep is also very hands on so he is one of the few that at least can justify the higher rates. Diep is a great surgeon and I think you will have fantastic results and I don't want to detract from your thread. Best of Luck!! Please keep us posted on your results.
  14. This is a very subtle change if any. This is a small amount of grafts over a large area. I can see how both parties could be a little frustrated over this result. Very minimal if any cosmetic difference but this could be expected by the minimal amount of grafts over such a large area. It appears there may have be a disconnect somewhere along the long between surgeon/patient.
  15. Brady has been on several consults with Dr Bob Leonard in Rhode Island. This is the same surgeon who did Wes Welkers procedure as well as Gronkowski's brother. I think Brady may have had some minor FUE work. As for propecia it is not a banned substance in the NFL. I think he is using meds as his hair has improved over the years. he had some temple recession in his earlier years. His father is basically bald and I think it may be starting to catch up to Tom as well as he shows signs of a thinning in mid scalp and vertex. He isn't perfect just like the rest of us....
  16. It appears they may have over harvested in the donor region. It also appears that this some considerable scarring in your donor region. Do you know what size punch was used? I would contact your surgeon and express your concerns as they appear to be valid.
  17. How many of,you have tried this treatment. This is starting to gain some positive feedback and would like to hear any positive results or experiences.
  18. "Nice work, looks tidy. Dr. Diep has his detractors but he does seem to produce some really nice results." What do you feel are the detractors for Dr. Diep? I know his pricing is quite high for his FUE work. Is there anything else you consider to be a detractor? If so please elaborate. I agree ontop. I think he certainly needs to mentioned as one of the top US FUE surgeonshowever I think we are quite limited with top tier FUE options in the US. Lets hope that changes.

This go around, were there differences you noticed from last time in the FUE procedure/protocol/approach/tools used/method/extraction personnel/etc. at Dr. Rahal's clinic? Thank you guys. I really appreciate it. Well, prior procedure was definitely longer. 1st FUE: -most extractions were done by a lead technician, who was very new to FUE extractions/learning, some were done by the doctor. Doctor was also attending other surgeries. -the Harris SAFE punch system motorized tool was used. .8mm punches were used, some at .9mm supposadly -doctor made incisions -2 technicians placed grafts (one technician was new to Dr. Rahal's clinic from US, white) and one was an older Asian lady -1 other new technician was holding, passing grafts to these other techs, rising the operating table chair, up and down and positioning. -more than one surgery was going on -clinic was small to mid size , 2 - or maybe 3 operating rooms? 2nd FUE Repair -the same lead tech from first procedure was extracting my grafts about 60% and doctor did the rest. this time he did seem to be more confident, needing no instruction. doctor again was attending to other surgeries. -the same FUE motorized extraction tool was used, .8mm punch sizes used as confirmed by clinic (like last time) -doctor made incisions -for recipient graft placement, did not see same new white technician from US from last time, other then the two Asian ones, and another newer face from last time, -the younger Asian one that rose my chair up and down last procedure seemed to be partaking in surgeries now -this clinic is a lot bigger, more than 3 operating rooms, a lot more techs working there, some newer faces. -more than one procedure going on same time as mine -definitly less backbreaking for me as I didnt have to be in the chair for such a long time, but again this is a streneous procedure to go through -i did not have much swelling, like last time -i did pay for my own hotel and travel costs for this repair, and used up my days off of work for this as well (eliminating my family vacation time) -so far i got shockloss and nothings changed up front yet, but doctor rahals clinic said as a repair patient this may take longer to grow now, after I sent them some photos, so lets see Hope i've answered your questions Puppdaddy. Some of these statements from the clinic seem to contradict Sean's account and experiences from his 1st FUE procedure and repair procedure that we are still waiting to see final results???
  20. This is the million dollar question that a lot of people who like to have more info on. KO suggestion is gaining some popularity on some of the other forums. BTT has several posts about RU58841 under the medication treatments section. I did read that one poster experienced some sides using RU58841 similar to what he experienced when on Propecia. the majority of the posters stated they didn't experience any sides. I think the jury still may be out on the alternative. Some natural alternatives that I have tried; Saw palmetto Pumpkin seed oil Nettle Root Nizoral 2% I don't think they have quite the benefits I experienced with propecia but they certainly contribute to better hair health from my experiences. I took propecia for over nearly ten years and stopped due to persistent sides and to start a family. I think FIN works quite well specifically in the crown but currently is is not part of my regimen. Hopefully we have some safer alternatives in the future!
