  1. ..Dr Rahal is pretty good too:D! keithh gets my vote for HT of the week.
  2. If you've had to completely shave your head I'm surprised that any shedding phase would concern you. If it happened you could just shave it for a couple of months then let it grow(?) You've still got some hair to hold on to and are not really a candidate for a HT just yet, and definately not unless you are willing to use the big 3. I would try the meds as they could keep most of your hair for the next 10-15 years. You haven't got much to lose as it looks like you're already thinning in a fairly agressive pattern in the high Norwoods. There's a lot of people on here who say: "If only I'd got on Propecia 10 years ago.." Something to bare in mind.
  3. Here is a good resource on womens hair loss: Hair Loss in Women: Causes of Female Diffuse Balding | Bernstein Medical 1,200 grafts looks a bit on the low side. I think you may need over 2000. I've not heard of any female having an FUE procedure which would be pretty pointless in my opinion. Also, are you really prepared to shave most of your hair off? If you need somewhere close to Australia I'd suggest Dr Pathomvanich as a good starting point.
  4. I think I know who the Dr is by the donor markings!
  5. A useful read: Age and the Donor Zone in FU Hair Transplants | Bernstein Medical
  6. The hair which is moved behaves as it did in its original location. It doesn't change to suit the new location.
  7. This is what it's all about...very pleasing result!
  8. Sent you a PM so as to avoid de-railing your thread...
  9. 4,000 approx. If you click my profile name you can find some photos. Hair is probably a bit worse than it seems in some of the photos due to angles/nanogen.
  10. 1st HT. My photo is just to confuse people - that's how my hair was in 2001. Sadly no more!
  11. Looks very neat. I'm 3 weeks behind you with Dr K buddy. Would be great if you started a specific thread about your experiences...
  12. Looks great. When you say you 'lost a few grafts' I guess you meant hairs(?) You can definately see where they have started to shed.
  13. This one was presented here some months back: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/167930-dr-diep-hair-transplant-surgery-result-w-before-after-advance-norwood-6-hair-loss.html
  14. Welcome back DWMHD. I remember your posts a few months back. Who did you go with in the end? I'd check with the Dr about those queries.
  15. A couple of reasons to be optimistic with lower doses... http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/170381-parsley-non-surgical-restoration-low-dose-finasteride.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/168490-dr-parsley-results-1-4-tab-propecia-0-25mg-daily.html
  16. Not sure if you have seen Dr Rahal in person but I note that you are in Canada. I think it is imperative that you have an in-person consultation before commiting to anything. I know people don't like blowing 500 bucks on a plane ticket just to see a Dr but it is worth it.
  17. I'd say NW5 and a bit. What you could do all comes down to the donor. 1)If your scalp is very flexible and the donor hair is really thick caliber with lots of 2 and 3 hair grafts, you could go for broke at H&W with a megasession. You would of course have to accept that shaving beyond a grade 3 is unlikely to be an option. 2)Accept less coverage (or thinner over a bigger area), take 3000-4000 FUE to get a hairline back. 3)Shave everything and try SMP. Dr Bisanga would be a good start - only a 2hr Eurostar journey from London and maybe combine with a visit to a couple of other Belgium Drs. Farjo (conservative) and Lorenzo would be great but expensive!
  18. I have a very light scattering of hairs in the front 3rd and they are uneven. On my right side there is a clump of slighly better density hair. So it can happen.
  19. Very nice result. I have a similar loss pattern with a channel down the centre.
  20. I was fairly loose already but having done these excercises since 1st July I can feel the difference. I do about 10 sides and 10 back per day. Not neccessarily all in one go. Maybe a couple in the morning and the rest in the evening. They are hard work but you get used to it!
  21. My gut feeling would be Carlos Wesley, MD. Worth a consult.
  22. What you're describing sounds like the initial growth stage: transplanted grafts have shed and new hair is coming through. It's often wiry/curly at the start and takes time to mature.
  23. Thinning only becomes noticeable at around 50% original density. So lets say you had 100 fu/cm2 donor at age 30 and lost 25% by 60yrs old (75 fu/cm2). That would be pretty unnoticeable, especially with grey hair. But... If you transplant the donor aged 30 at 50 fu/cm2, by the time you're 60 you would effectively have 37.5 fu/cm2 (25% drop). That would be noticeably different for sure.
