  1. Bad example! The guy is probably 6ft 3, works out and looks like a model. Now if he looked like this I would see where you're coming from:
  2. I thought you drew it in the perfect position Doc! He has a nice vertical forehead, as opposed to a slopey one. Anything lower would look a bit odd.
  3. The one I often hear is: 4 fingers = 2500 grafts. Depends how big your hands are though.
  4. Well I'm the same age as you and only on fin properly for a few months. I'd say my libido is certainly not what it was in my 20s so I wouldn't rule out it being unrelated to the Fin.
  5. Here you go. Yeah I think you are probably right - some singles placed inbetween the lines. Some people may think this looks too high but you have to look at it in 3 dimensions and consider how it will fan out.
  6. I have 4 or 5 hairs at 7cm and a fair few more at 7.5cm. I think for me, 7.5cm would look about right. If I remember I'll come back on here and tell you what I got!
  7. Totally agree with Gillenator. One word: Finasteride
  8. I'd say only 1 in 10 results I see look truly natural although most are very good. Thining sides and very thick uniform hairlines are always a dead giveaway that something is not quite right.
  9. No idea but I'll be returning to Rogaine a week or two after to try to stimulate early growth
  10. Great that there is no redness. You just look like guy with a bad haircut!
  11. Yep, it's in the instructions but I find because my hairline is so thin it looks way too unnatural doing it that way. Roll on the days we can both ditch it!
  12. I managed to buy some Dermatch here on line and have tried it a couple of times. It does seem to work better for the hairline than nanogen and combs through quite well with a wide tooth comb or brush. You must not use too much or allow the applicator to touch the scalp. However, I found that even if this happens a comb can rectify the situation if you make a small error. I think combined with Nanogen further back this is the best result out there, for me at least.
  13. It's impossible to style my hair in the morning if I use it, hence only using it at night. I also cover a large area so it saves a bit in cost... I didn't notice much shedding at all. Growth seemed to start becoming noticeable after 4 weeks.
  14. It's hard to tell if you're thining much beyond the hairline. However, your type of hair appears to be ideal for a hair transplant (curly). In your shoes I would try finasteride for a few months to see if you get any side effects. If you get none then an FUE of around 1500 grafts should do the trick. They say don't choose a surgeon based on cost but if I wanted FUE and budget was tight I'd consider Dr Doganay in Turkey or Dr De Reys in Belgium.
  15. Well he has limited denisty in the front half which looks similar to the NW5 image you posted, regardless of what the crown looks like. If he were a 3 I'd expect that forelock to be quite dense, or if there was reasonable density with evidence of thining I'd say a NW4. Very hard to tell with just the one photo!
  16. Once you've worked on the hairline it is essentially fixed and yes it is highly desirable to use meds to slow down progression. I'd say your dad is probably at least a NW5. He probably wouldn't need too many grafts for a conservative hairline because his hairline has already receeded back a fair bit. The grey hair helps also as there is less colour contrast. He could probably get away with 2000-2500 grafts.
  17. Nice result. You're no longer a bald guy. I see you had 3700 grafts with Farjo
  18. Update. First under spotlight, second without.
  19. Your case seems somewhat reminiscent of William38. Here's his link: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/165487-5000-fue-dr-de-reys.html If keeping your hair short is an important option and a result similar to William's is meaningful to you then I'd say go for the FUE. If you want more coverage then the chances are you will probably get more out of FUT - however, that depends on how loose your scalp is for taking a large or multiple strip(s). Being from Europe I'd say go to Europe for FUE, but if you can't travel I'd look at SMG or Diep.
  20. I think Finpecia and Rogaine should be your first port of call. Take the meds for 6-9 months to see if they can grow back some of that crown loss. Dr Radha can write you a prescription. I think if they maintain your hair then you could aim for 3000-4000 grafts with a conservative hairline placement.
  21. Don't forget the second option: do nothing. In 10 years you might be glad of what donor hair you have left rather than maxing out at 21.
