  1. CD, I am one of those clamoring for more photos. But I trust you to follow through on your pre-ops with Dr. Rahal. Really pulling for you. On the great scar, can you confirm whether Dr. Rahal used a double-layer closure (layer of stitches below and then regular a the surface) or just one layer of stitches? Thanks
  2. This history and body hair photo example is one of the best I've seen. Thanks so much for posting. Please please keep up the updates over the next year!
  3. Can't Decide, Thanks. Your case really fascinated me and have been following for awhile. Best of luck on your upcoming procedure. I can't seem to find a lot of Rahal crown cases on the net but the approach you describe makes some sense. Can you provide some examples? Also, in your past posts you describe as wanting to take this approach on yourself. Could you not provide some pictures now to see where you are pre-op?
  4. Your documentation is great and facial expressions add a touch of humor. Well done!
  5. CAnt Decide Wondering if you could please be more specific on the differences between Dr. Rahal's approach and Dr. Wong. Thanks
  6. Good grief. They are at it again. TERRIBLE BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS!!!!! Hair wet and tussled, no way to compare apples to apples, after photos from top down in a different light, no way to compare, no way to compare, no way to compare.....Sigh.....
  7. Lets say he gets 5000 FUE. Even it is just covers the frontal 2/3rd, he is likely set for some time. He can shave it down still and with concelers at a short length (which he does not mind) he looks great. Atheltes are particular. If he knows he looks good on the pitch and the baldy comments stop, then he probably feels better. I love the fact he owns up to it all.
  8. I have nothing personal against Matt, but don't hold your breath for the technical details on the work. I asked him how many Sw. CMs covered back in September on this thread and nothin'
  9. Just absolute BS photos. Different lighting, different angles, wet hair in one photo and not the others.
  10. Ah, OK. Whether a "top" doc or an unknown doc, I can't stand the inconsistent photographs that border on selective deception. This is 2013 and we all should be wiser to such tricks of the trade.
  11. Having spoken to Dr. Wesley on this a long time ago (and not having "spilled the beans), all I can say is that those who have analyzed this believe it will be a game changer. Without commenting on the patent application or procedure (I say let Dr. Wesley do that in October), just remember that to take a new device from beginning to end means development of equipment, proof of efficacy in living (and at first deceased) subjects, double blind resting, putting up or finding the finances to develop all this, etc. etc, while at the same time Dr. Wesley has been performing his regular HT duties. The man consistently gets recognized for his clear and scientific explanations to patients. I believe Pilotherapy is a game changer and Dr. Wesley MAY go down as one of the pioneers in the field. I believe even he would refrain from thinking about such judgements until this method has been on the market for years and is mainstreamed. He is a true pro and we all look forward to his commentary when he is ready.
  12. HairT. Are you ever going to show some updated photos on your own transplant?
  13. Front looks nice. But Matt, why why why why why why why do you not show views consistent with the before shot in the after shots?
  14. I think the hairline is reasonable given the size of job and creating a natural balding pattern. Would like to see consistent lighting in after photos compared to before.
  15. I think readers need to understand that this will give this fellow the ability to have a nice buzz cut/shadow and will likely look good consistently cut short. As noted, if he added some SMP it may look even fuller. To get a fullish effect at a buzz cut, for most patients it would take a combination of 10,000-20,000 grafts. I hope this guy keeps posting photos.
  16. MAtt, how old was this patient and how many square CM covered? Any before shots without the hair puled back?
  17. That is a realistic result. Very good hair quality and still some see through scalp. So indeed, an excellent example based on not too much dense packing.
  18. Dude, You do have the facial features to pull it off. Stop poo-pooing it. You may need a little tough love right here. Don't set a long term goal for X-mas. You are good to go RIGHT NOW. You have been putting this off for seven years and being a hermit. No more naysaying--in your case this is strictly a confidence issue. Work out, get in better shape, eat better--all that is good, but do it for yourself to feel better about the total package and help get a smile on your face. Forget the hair--you have a good plan, go to a pro, have fun with the buzz down, and enjoy life--we all are saying it--you have the head/look to pull off what many of us can't. Well done on that, and rock the look for all of us that wish we could!
  19. I just read this thread. Listen pal, I've been all over the world and am always looking at heads and hair. I guarantee you that you look very good even with a self-cut-half-attempt at a buzz. Go to a pro and learn to use the clippers and get it buzzed down. Experiment with facial hair length and styles Start with the full beard and start trimming and making styles. Have fun with it. Combined with working out and good diet you are almost home. I wouldn't go for a transplant even if you were a good candidate---you have the goods to get by in life very well with a short hair cut/buzz. Not everyone can due to head shape. So life did give you something, and now YOU have to take the next step--find your perspective, confidence, and hopefully smile---cause even if you have a hair transplant that looks great, if you have a lack of confidence or are frowning/negative, it will turn people away. I'm not saying you have to be happy all the time, just long enough to make the impression on the people you want to! Keep us updated on the styles....
  20. Tension in the scalp varies by region and it just may have been a tight closure in an area that may have required a smaller excision too avoid a tight closure. In any event, you should be in a better position in 2-3 months.
  21. I think you would know that no one on this site can truly provide advice that substitutes for that of a doctor and no one wants to say anything that can make your situation worse. Your hair loss is not killing you, it is your reaction to it--and I am not saying that you can just turn it on and off easily. Depression is a very real cognitive disease and you already know that your sense of perception has been altered by it. We can all speculate that the hair loss represents or symbolizes something else in your life that is part of the underlying cause for your depression--for some people it might be a symbol of getting older, loss of choice or regretting decisions. Regardless you have to trust that if you can and will find a way to ride out the depression and at some point you will be able to see the forest from the trees. Hang on tight as best you can and when that day comes you will be in a better place to find a hair transplant surgeon you trust and can work with you--if you even want to pursue it at that point.
