  1. thanks janna...been kinda worried about it for the duration i have been taking it so this definitely puts my mind at ease. for the record, im taking dr reddy's proscar. i found this link online as well that seems to validate it.... http://www.business-standard.c...ck-generics/13574/on
  2. Hey guys, I'm currently taking generic proscar, and every pharmacy I call, they only carry the generic version of Proscar. Is there a significant difference between the generic version of Proscar and the brand name Proscar? M proscar is dr reddys and i get it from my local pharmacy, not online.
  3. dr. cooley, do u recall this patients age and are ou saying he is out of donor hair to due all the past transplants and scalp trauma?
  4. agree shadow. dr. cooley, you say this is a cautionary tale. i take it this patient had these transplants many years ago and is now much much older? can you explain? thanks!
  5. 10 transplants and 3 scalp reductions! wow. Dr. Cooley, this may be an odd question but how come scalp reductions are seemingly a thing of the past, it seems if patients do scalp exercises they could get back a good amount of their scalp laxity? Also, any more details on this patient as far as age and donor hair left? Thanks!
  6. Armani is a hair mill and everyone knows it. Everyone also knows that Pats recieved another strip procedure in his crown and not fue hence why he waited nearly three years to show everyone his crown result. No way this guy lost that much native hair in this much time, especially if he was on propecia. Convenient and typical excuse for your clinic Pats. The work looks horrbile and there is a good reason Armani is not recommended on this site yet you continue to post here. Hairsite is where your cheerleaders are and where evryone believees you can get 10,000 fue grafts in 4 hrs, lol. Stay away from Armani at all costs, unless you want to end up like this guy. Balboa said it best, this is not patient care, this is robbery, and worse, you are ruining peoples lives. Keep up the good work over there Pats.
  7. Maybe thinning in na nw5 pattern but your assertu=ion that he almost zero native hair preop is absurd, he had a lot of native hair still left, not to mention good thick hair quality. You act like the 2500 grafts got spread out over the entire scalp when in fact they were packed in the very front of the scalp. Dr. Alexander said he could expect a great result with his hair quality and this graft number. Is this a great result? No.
  8. if this is an 'average'result, why even bother spending 10 grand to look like that. The truth is there are probably under 5 clinics doing truly state of the art transplants who consistently churn out top result after top result. I would feel very confident going to two of them, and a lot less confident going to the other 3. I would say Dr. Alexander is in that 5 so yes, by industry standards this is maybe slightly below average but lets be real the industry covers a wide range of good and bad. The guy didn't have ' a lot of real estate' to be covered. He had great quality hair and donor characteristics and was only filling in the frontal half of his scalp. Lets call a spade a spade for once and admit if this was any of our own heads we'd be disappointed just like ttp and stop trying to justify this result. Dr Shapiro of SMG has stated time and time again that its unacceptable to have an unhappy patient in the field of cosmetic surgery and I agree. I dont think ttp's expectations were to high at all and I believe he has every right to be underwhelmed by what he got.
  9. looks good hairshare...what did dr wong say about future balding and your predicted future pattern? do you have anymore grafts left or does he think the proscar will hold onto the rest?
  10. H&W, along with SMG (almost) are the only two clinics that are documenting results on a weekly basis. And I believe H&W is the only clinic with high def videos of their patients. Most other clinics couldn't produce a result near this and would blame it on the scar tissue. This is a great result. Keep up the good work Joe, knowing I'm going to see a new result every week from H&W is very much appreciated.
  11. well, propecia is only proven to work on the crown....
  12. while age is certainly not everything, most ht docs will tell you to wait until you are atleast 25 before you 'take the plunge.' at this age you just have no idea how far your hairloss will progress. get on meds and see how u react to those for a few yrs then revisit the situation. the last thing u want to do is have a ht then continue to keep losing hair behind it. like i said, give yourself a few yrs. 22 is too young imo. if you are thinking about a ht at 22, the likelihood is that you will bald to a fairly significant degree. people always talk about their 'younger yrs', and while they are very important, what about your 'older yrs' when you have a wife, a job, kids, ect. you dont want to look like a freak. again, get on meds then in a few yrs if u think u have stabilized come back for a ht.
  13. I agree with these guys, your hair is fine. you got a ht in the first place so that you would stop worrying about your hair. yes, some girls, especially at your age, will care about more about how a guy looks than what he's like. but be thankful most arent like that. i have a few friends with pretty noticeable hairloss and all of them have girlfriends who could give a damn about it, and they are all very good looking. the last thing you want to do is have to start caking on dermatch, which is no good on the hairline anyway. what happens when get intimate with a girl and she runs her hands thru your hair or u spend the night at her place and their is dermatch all over the pillow...this after u just had a 3000 graph ht? kick yourself in the balls here and act like the confident guy you know u can be and u will be fine.
  14. well, u arent the first poster here to be unhappy with dr. feller and one of his results. however unless u post pics we really have no way of judging it to see if u are telling the truth or have unrealistic expectations. i would hold off judgement until 12 months and then revisit this issue if necessary.
  15. i agree lets see some more pics, otherwise i think u have to write this off as a disappointment. if there was evidence it was working, dont u think dr. feller would post more pics? business 101. i think the lack of pics is telling...
  16. i understand what u are trying to say, you want to look good now and dont really care as much about tomorrow or that u will be ahead of the game....but a ht is all about distribution. u are dealing w/ a limited source w/ your donor so how that is distributed is very important. with the way u have chosen to distribute yours, all i said is u are taking a chance it is distributed in a manner that might not be the best. example: jotronic at h&W is a nw5-6, but has a great looking ht. however is hairline is not nearly as low as yours is, not even close. i think its easy to say now u will just have to deal with looking a like a freak rather than later when u have kids and a family and u cant go anywhere in public/work w/o getting looks. however all this is likely moot in that the meds will likely do a good job for u and the chances of advancement in ht's and hairloss drugs/treatments will advance.
  17. like i said it is just my opinion....if u have the donor and family history on your side by all means go for it. but understand not everyone is going to agree with your approach and pat you on the back saying u are doing the right thing. with how low your hairline is, how many graphs you have already used, your age, ect. all i suggested is just be careful. If you adavnce to a nw 6/7 then what? u not only have to worry about the top but also the sides. that is the possible scenario u look like a freak. but believe what u want, and since u are on meds it likely wont be an issue. however sorry for not telling u what u want to hear but like i said just my opinion.
  18. I dont have any problems with getting a ht in your 20's but to have two or like some like mikethedane to have 3 is kind of insane in my opinion. donor hair is a limited source, once its gone its gone. who knows how far you will eventually bald. think about 40 yrs from now when you are in your 60's. you dont want to end up looking like a freak and yes you will care about how you look. This is just my opinion but for guys like thana (just had 3000 graphs packed in the front third) and mikethedane (3 ht's and 4300 grpahs before 23?) it just seems like overkill and i would hold off if i were you guys. it just seems like u will be chasing your hairloss for far too long if u start now. The only two places I would let touch my head are h&w and shapiro medical. No one else can hold a candle to them in my opinion. Both clinics can long term plan better than anyone, and when u are this long, that is important.
  19. these are great features...would love to see even more in the future. thanks joe, keep up the good work over there at h&w.
  20. Joe, just sent you an email. Pics look great btw.
  21. ttp, have you notived any less loss and or thickening/regrowth with the proscar?
  22. well, between all the highlighting, blow drying, and the insane amount of products you are putting in your hair, i have to believe all that can't be good for the roots/hair. just my opinion...
  23. i agree with aaron. with your age and the amount of graphs you have already used, plus the fact that propecia is seemingly not holding the rest of your hair, i think u better save those grpahs for later. your hairline is already lower than a lot of people who gets transplants and looks really natural to me. just my opinion tho...
