  1. As mentioned see a dermatologist, and look into 1% hydrocortisone cream or lotion (with aloe if possible) and Nizoral lotion 2% (not the shampoo, use the lotion) if the cause if fungus related. Be careful some may try to prescribe you super potent topical steroids such as Clobetasol etc. but the above two should work and are less harsh. Never remove scale or flaking when it's hard, only do so so after a bath or shower and never use anything sharp to remove it. If it's really thick buildup, virgin olive oil or peanut oil can help removing it safely until it's under control with the ingredients I mention above. good luck
  2. Agree with what has already been said above, just will add that you should rethink your surgeon choice. For FUE go with Diep, Konior or Vories in N. America (also research Nader), or the FUE masters in Belgium or Erdogan in Turkey, when the time is ready. Personally I don't think it looks all that bad at this stage - we've seen worse here for sure - especially from front on. However your profile makes your temple corners stick out with the current hair length. I would not keep it long but rather cut it short including cutting the sides and back shorter for a more bad ass look. Maybe do some weight training too, you have hair just try to change the look for now. Shorter hair plus weight training will give you an edge of I have a high forehead but still have my hair brah, so f-off! type of strong positive attitude until the time is right for surgery.
  3. I say no just to caution on the safe side, I had issues with Nizoral affecting my results so I'm one that is wary about using anything even potentially harsh near the grafts until about 1 year. What does your surgeon say? If it doesn't bother you terribly I would try to wait it out a bit. I had temple point work done in an area with greys and I'm still holding off with dyeing it until many months have passed. Though the color difference does bother me a bit.
  4. SMP works on a select few head shapes/facial types but I don't see it as a safe across the board alternative to hair restoration in many cases. I mention safe because there was an active forum member here who had temp. SMP and claimed it was the cause of his leukemia. I think it's best suited for scar repair into FUT scars (I had an old Bosley scar done at HIS) or for minor crown camouflaging where the patient still has some amount of hair.
  5. There are no active forum members that I know who have had one-and-done procedures 10 years or more prior. Could be lurkers out there I guess though. HTs just like the other alternatives require maintenance touchups as we age or in the case of hair greed for added density boost. However, the only way one potentially would lose a substantial amount of hair post successful HT is from a scalp disorder or if the surgeon for some reason removed the grafts from outside the safe permanent zone (hence the importance of choosing an elite surgeon). Though as we age native hair may continue to shed, some people may lose their responsiveness to Fin and some other gradual minor loss may occur. The thing with HTs is that they only really fully mature - in both a positive and negative sense - somewhere between the 18-month and two year mark. From the first 6 months to one year for example, you will have a majority of the new hairs all in the anagen growth phase at the same time so at the one year mark you typically get the Wow! type of explosive change in cosmetic appearance. After that the normal hair cycles balance out and it may appear that the results have lost some steam, but what is actually happening is that your own native hair growth cycles are returning in respect to the new transplants. In summary, (1) HT's are quite a permanent solution (2) but you may require some tuneups along the way, (3) and the time when you can fully judge the full results is not until 18-24 months later. Point (3) is why I never recommend anyone have a procedure in the same area until that amount of time has passed.
  6. A piece will definitely give you more "density" than a HT, but it will not give the freedom of having your own hair back. Also the maintenance plus the chance of being outed at some point at time at work or in social circles would make it something you might regret. Once you start you will be trapped sporting that level of density with no going back. If my subsequent HT's later in life hadn't worked out I most definitely would have shaved it all before ever choosing a rug (just my opinion). Anyway there are forums for hair systems on this site you may want to check out in the meantime anyway.
  7. I don't like the photos in dark lighting (yes I know patient sent), but as always great work.
  8. Hmm, in all my time here I can't remember a new user ever saying that about Konior, sounds more like a past user (obsessed with density) coming back under a new alias. Konior is not known for poor density btw. I could be wrong here, maybe you have us fooled with the new avatar. Who knows.. I'm done responding to these type of posts without detailed pics, you just never know who is really posting. One thing I hate more than anything is someone that wastes mine and other's valuable time.
  9. As we always mention, be careful with Turkey, there are some high risk outfits there. As mentioned above, the ones that produce consistent results and have a solid online reputation are Dr. Erdogan and Dr. Keser.
  10. For your age you have maintained well. And for your level of hairloss Dr. Konior (FUT and FUE) and Gabel (FUT) would do a great job and I don't think you'd require that many grafts to achieve your goals. I'm a huge fan of Konior and 3 time patient with him. Research the pros & cons of FUT vs FUE then narrow it down from there. Other FUE docs are Diep as mentioned and Vories.
  11. If we're talking FUE only docs for a smaller procedure I like -> Europe: Bisanga, Keser or Maras for ability to handle touchups and their solid reputation -> US: Konior for naturalness and his stick and place technique
  12. If you can't afford at least Erdogan, he is "affordable" compared to the global average, then you may end up in the same situation once again losing precious donor hair. Be careful, hair restoration surgery is not like buying a used car.
  13. If the sides are not tolerable, quit for a month or so then try again with reduced dosage spaced part. If tolerable try .5mg 2-3x week for example and see if that helps. As many know I cycle on/off Fin and I don't see any major changes until stopping for 7 months. My current dosage is .625mg 2x week Tues and Fridays (you can search my thread if so inclined). good luck man
  14. SMP for crown work into existing hair or for FUT scars, then Yes. That's the only time I recommend it. Full head SMP only ever really works on a few head/face types, and only when done be an elite practitioner. If you had a subpar HT result 1st time around, go with an elite (Hasson, Erdogan, Konior level) surgeon known to produce very few or zero poor results. Can you post pics of the area you are going to have done?
  15. A changed man JustJax, looking great. Post a before/after composite for those new to your thread.
  16. As the other guys mentioned as well, the shape is spot on but the amount of forward protrusion you drew is quite extensive so maybe they thought what you wanted was too aggressive. I had to explain what I wanted in pictures of celebs ultimately to get my message across during my temple point online consultations. Also had somewhat similar experience of what you wrote. I saw this guy on CNN international while on biz trip who had a high forehead but strong temple points and told Dr. K to use this as an example for TP shape. It worked. So maybe find a celeb with strong temple points you can use as an example.
  17. Lorenzo as well if you can get a booking.
  18. Absolute hair porn, great density and results as expected from Hasson. In most cases with HTs patient's are not able to wear their hair combed back like that but you can get away with it thanks to the excellent work and density. I wouldn't nitpick it too much and waiting for 5 five years for a touchup is smart plan!
  19. To be fair, there are both sides to FUE results here. Just do your due diligence is all I'm saying.
  20. Besides Gatsu, there aren't many detailed write-ups. Looking forward to your pics and experience. good luck!
  21. Good luck man. From what I've seen and read you are in good hands. How many days will the procedure be staged over? (I know he likes to do smaller segments over a few days)
  22. The temple points are a very fine area and even some of the best docs are not confident about working in this area. If you are asking them for a dense high graft number for your temples, then maybe that's why they balked. They were willing to do a small surgery on mine when I was in the selection process. At least in the email consult.
  23. Got it, I didn't see the lol or emoji so thought the other way.
  24. Hey Sean, I've had multiple successful procedures but some clinics still consider subsequent surgery as "repair" work, anyway Dr. Keser was willing to work on me and my scalp certainly is no virgin lol Some of the communication times between the rep and the clinic are long and I somehow managed a cancellation booking with my no 1 choice and didn't go with him, but it seemed Dr. Keser was willing to work on me. I guess it's case by case. Have you contacted them btw?
