  1. If you're talking about Keser their site is often down and maybe they've upgraded it etc. Check out forum user Gatsu's results with Keser (I bumped up and older thread here recently). Based on my research, inside Turkey Erdogan and Keser are the highest recommended doctors and a lot of foreign language forums also highly recommend Keser. He is not my top choice for Turkey and doesn't make the final cut for my top recommendations in my signature, but he is only one of two I recommend if looking into Turkish docs.
  2. I think these days 4,500 grafts is not even a real stretch and when I hear the word "mega-session" I imagine procedures of upwards of 5,000 grafts or more. That being said, while I have seen a few cases where larger sessions have produced a single one session grand-slam home-run, based on my own experience and on viewing hundreds of results here over the years I prefer to have smaller sessions spaced out apart over time. One reason is for graft survival, the larger the session the longer some of the grafts (the last grafts to be placed) will be outside of the body. Second reason is that you don't really know how well your individual physiology is suited for a transplant until you actual have a surgery and wait a year for the results to come in. In some rare cases people do have failed procedures due some physiology-related reasons, and after you've spent 4,500 grafts it's kind of too late to go back in time and undo what has been done. Also even with 4,500 grafts well placed by an elite surgeon, you may need further touchups along the line anyway, so planning for a second HT is not a bad idea in terms of managing expectations and donor supply etc. Personally I wouldn't have a single session greater than 3,500-4,000 grafts but that's just me.
  3. You probably already know this but don't use any harsh shampoos like Nizoral or harsh chemicals. Mild shampoos recommended by your surgeon are best.
  4. Opinion and overall industry acceptance of FUE has drastically changed over the years. For some time, basically when I was researching HT's initially, FUE was taboo and the results posted were subpar and FUE was viewed as something only to be pursued for very minor cases and the yields were actually poor back then. Techniques and surgeon skill has improved, some of the former "FUT only" kings such as Konior and Hasson are doing more and more FUE cases and once adamant proponents of FUT like myself are having FUE procedures and communicating the positive experiences. I think Feller's old videos and outdated comments are no longer valid. For overall lifetime donor management, I would recommend patients start with FUT first if they have advanced hairloss over NW5. But there are also clinics that can do great dense FUE work even on advanced cases.
  5. Digging up and old thread as someone asked about Turkish doctors and I had to mention Keser based on my research and your amazing results Gatsu with Keser. Your shaved hair in the front is the best density I think I have ever seen and from where you came from this is really incredible, which speaks a lot about Dr. Keser and his mastery at density. There is no "illusion" of denisty here, you have thick new hair which looks great long or shaved. Gatsu before Dr. Keser: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=115152&d=1512754233 Gatsu after 2 procedures with Keser (new grafts in mid-scalp from Dr. Lupanzula): http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=110037&d=1500455129 Also the new temple points make you look around 5 years younger and I knew it had bothered you as we had discussed it about a year ago. Congrats on putting the final touches to your hair restoration journey.
  6. good luck man, they are hard to get in touch with at times, and sometimes takes quite a while to get a response from their rep. Forum member Gatsu on here went with Keser and has some writeups and you can also try to send him a PM. You can see the previous work Dr. Keser did in his final thread with 3rd procedure with Dr. Lupanzula for temples and midscalp. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/187515-2987grafts-dr-lupanzula-6.html
  7. For FUT that's a tough one, they are both in my top 5 list for FUT surgeons worldwide. I hear what you say about patient based results threads, as they are the real evidence of unbiased experiences. Tough one to call, as Bloxham is also closer to you which gives him some small but important bonus points. It would be like asking which doctor to go with if you lived in Chicago. After writing all that I still don't know lol. Is there some way you could speak with former Bloxham patients in person, if the clinic could arrange that or if you could find some of them on other forums? good luck and keep us posted
  8. Definitely FUT allows for greater coverage and higher total number of possible grafts over your lifetime (donor supply management is important for future planning), so while I've had smaller FUE procedures after the initial FUT procedures I still recommend those with advanced hairloss to consider FUT as a better option. And this is also why I recommend potential patients to go with only an elite surgeon, because elite surgeons such as Hasson and Konior are able to produce pencil thin scars. Yes bending your neck downward could so this is something you need to consider, might be a detailed question you could ask to a hair restoration surgeon in your area and show him the actual movement - you wouldn't have to actually go with this surgeon but just rather have only the consultation.
  9. Yes, but it also depends on the fine print in the waiver you signed before the surgery. If there was gross negligence you could still be able to pursue one. Or literally even sue for one in some cases. Who was the surgeon and what is the damage? Poor results? Butchered donor area etc?
  10. Excellent advice and information from Lorenzo. I think the only way you would end up with a wide scar from Hasson is if you were to start heavy weight training too early postop. Keep that in mind and avoid that and you're god to go. My donor was shaved last year for my small FUE procedure with Konior, and my previous Hasson scars are still pencil thin 7-8 years later.
  11. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. This is why for Turkey I only ever recommend Erdogan or Keser. The others in Turkey are just a gamble and in a fair amount of cases you end up worse than when you started. The BS that all the Turkish docs are "basically the same" in terms of results gets pushed around too, because in the end people are looking for an excuse to go with a cheap surgeon. Hope things work out for you and the forum is here to help with your next strategy how to fix this.
  12. Definitely one month should be fine for haircut, as long as you mention to the barber to take it easy on the grafted area. No rough passes with the clippers. Ask your doctor this one to make sure. I've had both FUE and FUT and one thing I absolutely love about FUE is being able to train again in just 2 weeks time after. It helps me keep mentally focused and get back into the swing of things. One month would be more than ample time.
  13. Agreed not enough. If the graft count is lower due to lack of funds, then save up a bit longer and have the procedure later. Or focus the grafts in the mid scalp. A focused 1800 graft procedure in a small defined area will give you results, but not if they are spread out over a larger area. I believe I made the same comment in your other thread, but if I were you I would forget about the crown and just address the midscalp area, and when the grafts grow in comb the hair back to cover your crown. This would be my approach if I had limited donor (I think that's what you said previously if I remember now). Possible SMP and also maybe just using toppix could make such a concentrated surgery go a long way. Again DO NOT have a surgery over that large area of only 1800 grafts and expect it to make a major difference. We've seen countless posts here, some of late, where people come back with much disappointment asking "did I really get XXXX grafts?" Don't be one of them.
  14. Basically after 10 days but I like to play it safe and baby everything and take highest care up to 2 weeks post-op. Most docs will provide a timeline of what you can do and when. I would never ever scratch the grafted area as scratching can damage even native hair follicles. But things like regular shower pressure etc can be started after 2 weeks for sure. The biggest question is was your procedure FUT or FUE? After 2 weeks post-op FUE you can basically do anything such as starting back up light weight training and sports, as long as it doesn't involve actions that could possibly lead to head injury. But with FUT the risk of stretching the scar is great and you shouldn't do any lifting or extreme sports for a few months or so. As for sweating, as long as you keep the area clean to avoid possible infection sweating should be fine after a week or so. If any particular questions ask your surgeon to make sure.
  15. There are only two doctors I would go to Turkey and they are Dr. Erdogan and Dr. Keser. People like to lump all of the Turkish docs into one group and say the results are "not that different" but that is not true. Erdogan stands out by miles ahead in terms of amazing results and few if any cases of subpar results. Keser is up there too but the clinic communication is not the greatest. The others are just in tier 2 or 3 lower and are only chosen by people looking for a cheap doc.
  16. Looking fantastic man! I think you've gotten closer to the point where there isn't really left to be done, except the small details you mentioned. I don't really see it but I guess we aim for perfection. One of my only issues now is greying and the fact that the transplants are thick and dark. So I've had to lightly dye some of my native hair to make it blend in, but it's kind of an annoyance I don't mind so much I could see myself having some grafts done as you mentioned to make the contrast between the color of native hair and transplanted less obvious, but that is a very low priority for me right now. Have you thought about some light dyeing instead of more grafts? Also the only thing I recommend SMP for is for helping to hide FUT scars, have you looked into possibly getting some SMP into your scar instead of the scar revision option? I had it done and it has worked wonders in helping me cut my hair in the back much shorter. I had it done at HIS a few years ago. Again congrats on your journey which seems nearly complete and for sharing it here.
  17. Hang in there man, the journey has lots of ups and downs and I do think if you go with a top elite surgeon (Lorenzo, Konior, Hasson, and maybe Erdogan (??)) you can get to where you want to be. At one time I was royally screwed by Bosley and then after I thought I was finally home free after my decent Hasson results I lost a lot of it to Nizoral, that was really quite devastating to me! I'm not liking the anecdotal evidence and reports on SMP and health issues, forum veteran Lorenzo mentioned his here. I would try to go one more round of FUE for the frontal third to boost density, but that's just me. Hope everything works out for you.
  18. Light walking will not impact the grafts at all and cold winter with little sunlight and less chance of heavy sweating is actual ideal postop weather. I wouldn't put yourself in a position to get frostbite, but the cold itself should not pose any harm except if you were to get hit with a snowball or by a falling icicle.
  19. Solid words from hairlossPA. Month 0 is where all the adrenalin and excitement kicks in, but months 1-3 are the hardest part as the new hairs shed and you return back to basically square one. I had three procedures with Konior who trained Gabel and both docs are known for producing some rather early growth based on my experience and other patient's stories. By around 2.5 months or maybe slightly thereafter things should start to happen with initial growth (not always but there is a good chance). Good luck and keep everything clean while avoiding heavy sun and and major head bumps or injuries.
  20. As home1212 I also had SMP into FUT scars and it mostly painless, but it depends on which part of your scalp. Some areas of the scalp have more nerve endings than others or are thinner and I have read some stories of it being fairly painful for some. It also seems to be something that is very patient dependent, what was a breeze for some might be downright painful for others. In terms of other needles, needles to the temple areas for hair transplant were some of the most painful I can remember so if you're having your temple corners/temple points done for SMP there could be a higher amount of pain in this area.
  21. Hey Lorenzo, I wish you a speedy recovery and hope everything works out for the best. Again thanks for getting your story out there, whether or not there is definitive evidence of a direct link or not I think it's important to put this information out for caution's sake.
  22. No it can not, actually a decent amount of shower pressure is good for helping to clean the scalp from dirt and sebum etc. Any hairs you are losing from showering are actually lost from other causes such as normal shedding, and if the amount is high then from MPB or from some internal disease or condition. You can't go bald from showering even with high water pressure.
  23. Congrats on choosing an excellent surgeon, in my book the best in the world. Hope the post-op healing goes well and baby those grafts like precious gold until at least day 10.
  24. Life changing transformation! He looks like a completely different person and I'm sure he's enjoying life to the fullest. This is what an elite surgeon like Hasson can do. Take note new forum members. Your hair's looking pretty sharp too Doug in your avatar!
  25. Permanent SMP can eventually discolor and turn to blue and then you will be only able to work at the Luxor's blue man show for future career choices.. Half joking but trying to point out that permanent SMP has risks and one of the bigger ones is turning blue. FUE plus temporary SMP would be a better option though the maintenance factor for SMP touchups and the shaving would be there. I had permanent SMP done inside a nasty FUT scar from Bosley, and it works wonders at concealing it. But I would never recommend doing permanent SMP on any other area of your head.
