  1. Agree with what has been said, 1,800 will not be nearly enough and that amount is only good for beefing up the immediate hairline area for example as a reference of what 1,800 grafts could be used for. Also the crown is often referred to as black hole as it eats up a ton of grafts to do it right, including recreating the natural swirl. Dr. Wong and Dr. Feriduni excel at the crown so maybe consult with them for how many grafts would be required to do it right. Also boosting up the front and midscalp area and then growing it long would help with the frontal framing of your face (can't see the front in your pics) and also help conceal some of the crown area at the same time. And I agree a combo of FUE/SMP could be a way to address the area without using up too many grafts. However at the very least though the midscalp will need to be addressed due to the large balding area
  2. Congrats on your procedure with an outstanding surgeon. Been seeing a lot of failed or subpar cases on here recently, good to see success stories from those who take the time to fully research carefully. Love the dense graft placement, should make for a very dense result. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=114221&d=1510673055
  3. I think we've all been there before. Stick around this site and search for the elite or higher recommended docs in the US and plan for round 2 while the current grafts grow in. Konior (Chicago), Rahal (Toronto) and Bloxham (NY area) for example are a short flight away, and there is even a recommend surgeon on here in the Virginia area, Dr. Lindsey. When we talk about thick and natural hair restoration we usually mention something called "dense packing" performed by an elite surgeon with proven results. You can search for cases from the above mentioned docs on this site to see what I mean. Search for Rahal dense packing in the search function on this sight for example. You'll get an idea of what I mean. Here's an example from Ernie's case: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=90809&d=1456258465 There are usually no major spaces in between the graft placement, while with the work work your doc did I can clearly see largish patches of scalp. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=116974&d=1515641562 This will lead to a sparse result when it grows in. It could provide you with some modest coverage if you let it grow long and then comb it forward. If you are serious about getting your hair back search the top surgeons on here, since you went with FUT the first time a second FUT would not be such a bad idea and not all that expensive.
  4. Techs implanting the grafts is sometimes the norm. I have never heard of this surgeon and clinic. What made you choose him?
  5. Copy and paste from your other thread: Bit late now of course, but the preferred approach would have been to do the 2,800 grafts in the hairline and frontal third. Then the rest of the area and crown in a second surgery. My assessment is too many grafts over an extensive area and the grafts themselves have huge gaps in terms of placement. Who was the surgeon? Doesn't look like the work of an elite top surgeon. For your second surgery spend a few months on this forum to choose one with outstanding results. The good news is that you found this forum.
  6. It's possible due to the large area covered, but the results are going to be sparse as the grafts are too spread out apart. Bit late now of course, but the preferred approach would have been to do the 2,800 grafts in the hairline and frontal third. Then the rest of the area and crown in a second surgery. Who was the surgeon?
  7. Also I agree your 8-month and 10-month pics look much denser. Did you lose some of the transplanted hair?
  8. Dolph we are around the same age and I know you've been an active and highly contributing member to this site. Please take this as constructive criticism but the results are not ideal and you can do much better man! Don't let the age factor even in here. Demand a refund and if I were you I would recommend others not to go to this doctor if these are his typical level of results. Again I don't wanna be hard on you as I know the HT journey is a long and arduous one.
  9. Depends on what the root cause of the dandruff is, if it's due to dry scalp then yes oil is best but if it's due to seborrheic dermatitis triggered by a yeast or fungus than oils are the last thing you want to put on your scalp, as they will only exacerbate the situation. The milder shampoos you mention are good along with the Kerium shampoos from La Roche-Posay. My personal favorite being Kerium.
  10. Bill, I agree with this 100%! I had asked directly in the results threads they had posted a few times, and never got a response as to why they always use more grafts than other clinics. If they could clarify that it would help other patients a great deal (then I wouldn't have to answer and get caught up in this ;-) That does remain the biggest concern among many prospective ASMED patients based on my research.
  11. Nah what I said wasn't funny at all. Again my comment has nothing to do whatsoever with Mexican doctors. It was to encourage people to do a little research on the HRN. I don't recommend going to a place where your personal safety and your hard earned dollars for your transplant may be in jeopardy.
  12. What it does is dry out and in some cases damages the sebaceous glands (there was a study on it online years ago) if overused. In moderation and for treating SD this works especially the keto for killing the fungus/yeast that cause SD, but you have to follow the directions to a tee. While regular hair may recover from this if it is not already damaged from MPB newly transplanted hair and the sebaceous tissue/structure is more prone to damage especially in the early stages post op. For this reason I wouldn't put Nizoral anywhere near transplanted hair for at least a year, and would only use if absolutely required. As explained in my old post I was overusing it because it worked wonders for my scalp condition and because I didn't see any immediate negative effects. Also made my hair look great! which was why liked using it then. Spex mentions a lot of similar shed stories from patients and there was a guy on here who went with Hasson because Niz destroyed his hairline.
  13. I would 100% agree with this man. Any of us who have done the online consults will always get higher graft recommendations from ASMED. I and others came to the conclusion it is something they pad into their pricing setup. The cost per graft is low but their system makes up for it by quoting more grafts.. However their results and countless ones at that speak for themselves, and I put them up their with Konior in difficulty level to find a failed case or really bad review online. If you want nearly guaranteed results it's hard to beat those two based on my research.
  14. Good advice Benny, you have also chosen an excellent surgeon. A lot of the posts I see here recently seem to be younger guys enamoured with the latest Youtube video results. Folks should ignore such hype and advertising propaganda and spend a few months on this forum researching surgeons who have been vetted by this community, as well as hairloss topics in general.
  15. This was my post back in 2013, after that I was repaired in subsequent procedures with Dr. Konior thankfully. You can see the damage that was done though. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/173206-dont-overuse-nizoral-after-hair-transplant.html Needless to say I only ever sparingly use Nizoral if ever. I suffer from chronic scalp eczema (the dandruff like SD turned to harder eczema as I aged) and it's a major annoyance but I still have all of my transplanted hair now no matter how bad the eczema gets. Be careful of using any harsh topicals after a HT. There is Spex's posts on it, my experience and also others on here if you search.
  16. I agree with this statement and firmly believe overuse of 2% Nizoral damaged my outstanding results with Hasson years back. I've since corrected things with subsequent procedures, but in my experience it's not the scalp condition or sebum that will damage your hair and new transplants but rather harsh topicals such as Nizoral.
  17. Some of the new people here really don't want to do any research at all. That will definitely lead to people ending up with a subpar surgeon guys! Actually the whole point of my reply was to recommend to do some research on this site.. I'm not mentioning his full name as I've heard stories of people having to strap cash on their ankles etc and he's not someone I recommend readily, but the first letter starts with N. Again the point is that if you do enough research on this forum you will find out who the elite surgeons are, and may even find some hidden gems in the process. good luck
  18. Right and this is only for patients with a virgin scalp. If this is your second or subsequent procedure they will refuse you this procedure.
  19. Yes it's possible, some surgeons (Bisanga and Konior based on experience) will allow you to have a mohawk hair cut where they shave all of the donor and then only the immediate recipient area where the grafts will be placed. This allows for reduced downtime (unless you're already buzzed down) and I prefer this method. Based on research Erdogan does not allow for partial shaving. Good luck in your hair restoration journey
  20. Outstanding natural work as always! Was the surgeon Dr. Maras? The second procedure should provide the extra icing on the cake for the crown and overall density. But he no longer looks bald in the frontal third (crown area aside of course) and definite major cosmetic improvement.
  21. Stay away from ARTAS, go with manual FUE and the elite manual FUE masters out there. A repair from Erdogan can correct this. (those still searching, stay away from ARTAS and robotic FUE, no matter how much you can save. You'll pay the price later!)
  22. If it were a very minor surgery of a few hundred grafts then and only then "maybe" yes. But for a larger procedure definitely no! You will still be oozing blood and fluids the day after which will stick to any bandana or hat you wear, which when removed will pull out those precious new grafts you just paid a fortune for and flew half way around the world to get. If you don't mind getting big stares and can go hat and bandana free and have no other choice to fly back, than also perhaps. Also you could get yanked off your flight for appearing to have had "brain surgery" lol due to all the blood etc. which one overly-aggressive flight attendant tried to pull with me before I showed her my doctor letter (keep your doctor letter in your carryon luggage to avoid this!) But give it 2 days at least post op before flying, more time is optimal.
  23. For those out there searching clinics like this one: spend a few months on this forum researching who are the best surgeons in the world for both FUT and FUE, choose which method suits your case best, and then go with only one of those elite surgeons. My personal favorites based on a decade or so of research are in my signature. But don't be afraid to use the search button, and do not go with a surgeon or clinic that has not been heavily vetted by the veteran members on this site. There are a few affordable ones out there (Maras) and one iffy clinic in Mexico that has a strong following that you can search if you're short on funds. good luck to all prospective patients
  24. If you are an active member of this site and have been researching hair restoration and still haven't heard of Dr. Raymond Konior you haven't done enough research really. Though I will admit he is heavily booked and quite expensive these days (especially for FUE) which may limit the amount of recent posts. But don't be afraid to use the search button, as he and a few select others come up on most people's top 5 surgeon lists. He cured me and cured me for life. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=57713&d=1394603181 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=100011&d=1477810459
