  1. It works well in my case but I also cycle 6 months or so on Fin then quit the drug for months at a time. I've also had multiple procedures so it helps to maintain my existing hair, but obviously the past procedures have made a huge difference in not having to rely heavily on Fin alone. I recommend my regime only for those who have had sides with Fin but still want to try to continue on it. As a standalone method it will not work for everyone of course. good luck and hope you find the regimen that works for you
  2. Yes it works, and lower doses spread out further apart is a solid alternative to try if various side effects emerge, before eliminating fin all together. Here is an old post I made about it. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185076-625mg-fin-2x-week-tuesday-fridays-my-experience.html Currently I now take .625mg Proscar (.5mg Propecia is more ideal as it's easier to split..) every fourth day. I take it and then skip 3 days until the next dose. Everyone's mileage will vary.
  3. I echo the congratulatory comments above and am glad to hear things are going well my brother! Good luck in your new role and I wish you all the best.
  4. Truly amazing results man! But we all knew you were in great hands with Konior. ;-) Logged in after months away to say congrats. Enjoy it to the fullest and best wishes.
  5. Looks like everything is going well, this should make an excellent result into a stellar one. Hope you see early growth man, though you don't need it, you have too much hair already... lol
  6. Worst experience in my life (many years ago), stay away.
  7. Because he doesn't have the established FUE track record as the others, and the veterans here don't just recommend surgeons based on a few cases. In the future he could be on some's lists though, time will tell.
  8. My first HT many many years ago at Bosley was a disaster but the Internet was not in full force back then (was limited to researchers and the military then) so I ended up making an ill-informed and rash decision. I have made up for that by trying to help as many people on this site as possible make an informed decision based on thorough research and through relaying my experiences. These days it's much easier for you guys thankfully! In terms of subsequent procedures the only thing I would have changed is recognizing that with fine caliber hair transplanted density needs to be greater than 60 grafts/cm2 for the perfect look. But as Bill said things seem to happen and work out for a reason, and I'm happy I have reached my goals without any major issues along the way including during my long travel journeys to the best HT restoration surgeons in the world. I consider myself extremely fortunate and a large part of not having had any major subsequent regrets is due to the HRN.
  9. No stay away from the Nizoral especially 2% version until you are many months post-op, Nizoral has been known to be detrimental to HT growth. Use coconut oil for any dryness and consult with your surgeon on their recommended approach. It is an annoyance and causes worry but the dandruff itself will not affect the results - using a harsh shampoo/chemical or picking at it could though.
  10. I think as others have mentioned, it seems you are writing this to get your money back in the form of some discount from a clinic that people have reported having issues with on a forum that is dedicated to protecting fellow HT patients, so I don't really know what you expect us to say. It doesn't seem very unbiased in that regard.
  11. MSM until your native hair grows back to the level you are satisfied with (speeds up growth), Biotin regular or low dosage forever as it's cheap and strengthens hair. 5000mcg is a nice affordable daily dose of Biotin.
  12. FUT and FUE both have their place and merits and I've had both procedures. If you really want to see the new trend then ask Dr. Konior what his FUT/FUE workload percentage is, last I spoke with him he said it was around 50/50. And that's from a doctor who used to specialize in mostly FUT. long live HRN, let's not kill each other with FUT vs. FUE battles
  13. FUT or FUE, if it's your last shot you have to narrow it down to the elite shortlist to stack the odds in your favor - Konior, Hasson, Erdogan, Cooley do not produce many if any poor results. good luck
  14. As with most things in life nothing is a 100% guarantee. This forum was established to protect prospective hair restoration patients, patients like myself who had a failed procedure with Bosley years ago. It serves this function and purpose extremely well. Helping guide people in the right direction is a good thing, scaring them based on apprehension alone is not.
  15. I know that there is a shortlist of elite surgeons that produce few if any poor or subpar results, I know this from personal experience and from being an active member here on this forum for close to seven years. If you go with an unskilled surgeon with a poor reputation you will have poor results. Conversely if you go with an elite surgeon with proven published results your chances of an unsuccessful procedure are very low.
  16. I'm starting to wonder why you posted this in the first place, if you posted this to get support for your decision then you have already gotten that as this board is here to help hair loss sufferers. If you posted this on the other hand to warn others to do the same, then I am in definite disagreement with you. Yes a very small number of HTs do not succeed, but there are hundreds if not thousands of successful hair restoration cases posted on this forum where people's lives have been remarkably and permanently changed for the better. As long as you choose an elite surgeon - and that's what this site is all about - then it is certainly no gamble, especially if going with the docs in the elite surgeon class.
  17. It seems from all indications that he used a shampoo or conditioner that was detrimental to his HT growth (not the other way around from what I read). If his posting or non posting of that makes or breaks your weekend then you need to get help... lol Anyway hope things are working out for the better now. Btw my post was made at about the same time as HLS2015's but not directed at him, just at the last few posts in general.
  18. Nizoral overuse especially the 2% version will definitely take the air out of a good HT, I learned that the hard way.
  19. Congrats on your surgery. You have chosen one of the best hair restoration surgeons in the world, I have sat in the chair with also Dr. Hasson and Dr. Bisanga as well so I can say that with emphatic confidence. Take care of and protect the grafts until the critical post-op day 10, if you have any questions or concerns check in with Dr. K and we're also here to help out. happy growing
  20. Congrats on your decision, it seems to have been made not based on rash impulse but rather on long-term research and soul searching. HT's are not for everyone and those with the head shape and mindset etc to shave it all can save a lot of emotional stress and ups and downs (especially in the case of failure, though these days those odds are low if going with an elite surgeon). That said, successful hair restoration has enriched my life in so many ways I can't even begin to describe. I would never do things differently in a million years. From where I started I am in a totally different universe in terms of self confidence and ambitious achievement. Respect your decision though
  21. Agreed with Speegs, in my experience it depends on two main factors basically, (1) which surgeon you choose and also (2) what level of hair loss you have. Advanced NWs will require a ton of grafts to achieve a non-see through look even with a great surgeon but it can be done with the right approach and aggressiveness. Lower NW's will have the native hair to blend in with so less of a concern, but surgeon choice is still critical. There is a chance you could be spotted by a fellow HT patient (HRN veterans for example) as we know what to look for with trained eyes, but the general public including your friends will likely have no idea if you go with an elite surgeon. (*btw, never put the word n-or-wood in your post or it will get auto-moderated, due to doctor by that name being banned here I guess?)
  22. You sneaky SOB (lol ) how could you keep it quiet like that for over a year? Looks great man, no one does repairs and HTs overall like Konior does  enjoy it to the fullest
  23. I already explained this on page 1, and has been confirmed via email correspondence with Dr. Hasson, by speaking with other patients, and my own personal experience as a multiple HT veteran. The thing with HTs is that they only really fully mature - in both a positive and negative sense - somewhere between the 18-month and two year mark. From the first 6 months to one year for example, you will have a majority of the new hairs all in the anagen growth phase at the same time so at the one year mark you typically get the Wow! type of explosive change in cosmetic appearance. After that the normal hair cycles balance out and it may appear that the results have lost some steam, but what is actually happening is that your own native hair growth cycles are returning in respect to the new transplants. There is nothing strange, mysterious or nefarious going on, HT's require some maintenance especially after your native hair cycles balance out 18 months post-op, and as we continue to lose hair from the aging process and or lose responsiveness to Fin etc. Touchups are the way to rectify this.
  24. What is the product name and what are the active ingredients?
