  1. Hi Guys, I'm totally lost with your comments. The latest photos shows a person and his hair but I can't fathom the context or understand the comments. I hope you can clarify this for me and the community. Cheers Rod
  2. Hi Jansberg, I had my HT with Doctor Radha 29/1/2012. I'm currently 3 months post op and if you want to wait another 3 months I can give you some feedback then. My first hair transplant was with DHT Clinic (Dr Path's clinic) but Doctor Kulukarn did my first HT and it was quite successful considering my level of hairloss. I went with Dr Radha because it was a bit pricey with DHT Clinic and I was confident I'd get a good result with her. If your not in a rush to have a HT there are a number of patients who have recently had a procedure with her and I'm sure they will post their results as well. I can say she's a very honest and dedicated surgeon. Cheers Rod
  3. Hi, My scar is fine and is about 1mm in width. I've read a few comments on the forum about scars stretching but mine is fine. Regards rod
  4. Hi, I don't why you are removing the grafts because some grafts don't shed. I've read this on the forum. Regards rod
  5. Hi, I don't why you are removing the grafts because some grafts don't shed. I've read this on the forum. Regards rod
  6. Hi, Most of what you said is correct but I don't agree with your rule regarding technicians not planting grafts. The general accepted procedure is for the surgeon to create the recipient site and the technician places the graft. The surgeon does the hairline, removes the donor strip and sutures it up. My doctor placed 50% of the grafts. Its my understanding that fatigue can be a problem if the surgeon does the whole procedure. Check out of some of the really good doctors on this forum and see how they perform their procedures. Btw I see your from Australia and I'm curious to know who did your hair transplant? Cheers Rod
  7. Hi, The donor removal site does look a little high but to me still looks to be in the face zone. perhaps other members can chime in? Cheers rod
  8. Hi, The donor removal sight does look a little high but to me still looks to be in the face zone. Cheers rod
  9. Hi, I was just directed to this post and I thought I would comment about travel to india. The breakdown for travel for Australia to India: $950 - budget airline $420 - 3.5 star hotel (7days) Spending money factor $50 per day - $350 Total: $1720Us I think the major cost benefit is for larger mega sessions to compensate for the extra cost associated with travel. For me if I lived in the US and combining the cost it's probably not worth traveling OS for a small session. Btw travel to India is not for the faint hearted. This is my experience only. Cheers rod
  10. Hi, I agree with your comments in your previous post. I've checked out Doctor Madhu's website numerous times and I couldn't ascertained who he did his training with, though I would say he does produce good quality and consistent results. If you are after a surgeon who you feel comfortable with you should go with them. On the other hand the administrators of this website do thoroughly check out prospective applicants to be considered for recommendation. Its in their best interests to ensure they don't recommend dud doctors to forum members. I can attest that Doctor Radha, removes the donor, performs a trichophytic closure, creates the recipient sites for transplantation and places 50% of the grafts. She only does 1 procedure per day whilst Doctor Madhu's clinic does up to 3 and a team of technicians perform most of the work and he attends at regular intervals to ensure that the procedure is going well. Its really up to you to decide who you prefer to have your procedure done with. You live in India why not go for a personal consult with by Doctors and make an assessment from there. Btw I thought trichophytic closure was state of the art compared with using staples. Some doctors have a preference for either methods to close the donor strip. Cheers Rod
  11. Hi Oncled, If you can wait another 3 months my hair transplant results should be clear enough for me to recommend her to you without reservation. At this stage there is no point showing photographs because there is no growth at this stage. My last procedure I saw results coming in at about 4 months. My scar is 1 - 2mm and I'm pretty happy with that at this stage. Cheers Rod
  12. Hi, I had my HT with Doctor Radha Rani 3 months ago, growth is not known at this stage which will be due in another 2 - 3 months. I had a previous HT surgery with DHT Clinic in Bangkok in 2010 and I thought Doctor Radha Rani's clinic was comparable. I believe the difference between Doctor Madhu and her is that she only does one surgery a day and does the strip removal, suturing and does the hairline. She has a technician who assists with transplanting 50% of the grafts. She does the incisions for the recipient site herself. I had a long conversation with her and she appears to be fastidious with the care and attention to her craft. I thought she was pretty good but my results won't be known for a couple of months time. I suggest holding off for a another few months because she is getting a bit of traffic from new patients at the moment, who will likely update the forum on their progress. Cheers Rod
  13. Hi Rockstar, If you read a previous post Cardel25 said he would post 9 months results on this thread. He'll probably update it sometime in May. Regards Rod
  14. Hi Rockstar, Good luck with your procedure with Doctor Radha. I had my HT with her late January 2012 and she is a dedicated surgeon and cares for her patients. Your in good hands. Regards Rod
  15. Hi Dugman, I've reviewed your photos and it is difficult for me to judge the difference. In one of your comparisons your using a flash and it definitely doesn't help to judge the difference. I remember that the growth started to become noticeable at 4.5 months after my first HT and it was easy to see the results because I was so bald. I've just had my second HT and I think its going to be harder to tell the improvement this time around. I still think your too early to judge whether it has been a success or not. With the amount of grafts that you had I would suggest that you should have a very good outcome. Try not to obsess too much because you need to wait until 8 months to see the result. Good luck Rod
  16. Hi Dugman, At 5.5 months you have just about hit the growth stage and by 8 months it should be just about all grown. It does continue to improve for up to 18 months but that is maturation of the follicle. How wide is your scar? Generally, a scar should be about 1 - 2mm in width. I would suggest that most people who cut their hair as short as the one's you presented in your photo would have a visible scar. Have you contacted the clinic with your concerns? Regards Rod
  17. Hi, I don't mean to dismiss Poland as an option but if you are after an affordable hair transplant and don't mind travelling further, I can recommend Doctor Radha Rani in Vizag, India. She is newly recommended by the forum and charges in the vicinity of $1US (0.76 euro) for FUT. Just another option for you to consider. I will say that travelling to India is a bit more daunting than Europe but at least she has been scrutinised by forum member and has been assessed as providing ultra refined hair transplant procedures. Regards Rod
  18. Hi Travis, What price is Doctor Pathomvanich charging these days? If it's the same price as in the US I'd try for a consult over there or in Canada. Btw Doctor Radha Rani from India is also recommended on this forum and it's not too hard to get there from Singapore. Regards rod
  19. Hi Doctor Radha, I'd be very happy with a result like your patient had from his hair transplant surgery. A friend from Sydney is having his HT with you in May. Regards Rod
  20. Hi Trizzy, Just read your post and I'm wondering who the clinics were who did your HT procedures? It seems a bit disappointing for you that you are considering shaving down after your HT's. Why don't you just grow your hair a little longer and then no one can see the two rows that are a little thin? Regards Rod
  21. Hi, I wish I had as much hair as you at 25 years of age. I remember my mother telling me on the 21st birthday that my hair was thinning quite noticeably (diffuse thinning on top). I won't deny that it bothered me a bit but I still socialised with friends, didn't live my life under a baseball cap (plus baseball caps weren't used in Australia in the 1980's) and eventually met my future wife and had kids. There are ramifications from having a hair transplant at your young age. If it really bothers you go and see a counsellor and discuss your concerns with them. Personally, I would do on propecia and minoxidil and re-assess when you turn 30 years old. Good luck and have a good life. Regards Rod
  22. Hi, I just checked the exchange rate for you 4.3 euro = $5.63US. It really isn't that much difference in price imo. All 3 doctors have a good reputation. Do your research and go with the doctor that you feel most comfortable with to get the procedure done. Regards Rod
  23. Hi, My understanding that the width also depends on scalp laxity. I also thought a hair transplant clinic has tools that measure scalp laxity to ensure that the strip isn't too wide. Are you after maximum grafts from one procedure? Regards Rod
  24. Hi Stosh, If you've done your homework then why are you eliciting responses from forum members? Its not up to us to recommend a HT surgeon to you, its for you to do the research and chose who you wish to go with. This forum has recommended surgeons if you wish to take a look around. I agree that there are a few charlatans performing HT surgeries, but the surgeons on this site have been pre-screened by the forum admin and perform ultra refined procedures. Regards Rod
  25. Hi Bill, I think that the topic you raised is very important and the information that you provide in your document appears to be spot on. I think the only issue that patients face is a number of doctors have developed good quality websites and can sound so convincing. It can be confusing for clients. That is why its also important to come to a website like this where it is very honest and patients have some support. Thanks for the article. Regards Rod
