I think this one is getting my vote. Between you and 2 others.

Can I ask how many gradts per cm2 the doctor was able to achieve? Looks very, very densely packed.

Fantastic result!

This post gave me all the reassurance in the world that I picked the right doctor. I had my procedure with Dr. Freitas 11 days ago and I showed him your hairline as a basis to what I was looking for. Although I am a more advanced Norwood, he delivered a hairline for me that is natural, while preserving grafts for my crown via a 2nd procedure.

I had roughly 3,090 grafts and can confirm your write up regarding your experience from start to finish is literally spot on. It was an incredible experience for a procedure that can be nerve-wracking for so many.

My hairline immediately post op and a few weeks out look very similar to yours. I’m so excited to see this play out over the next several months after watching your progress.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, while putting the amazing work of Dr. Freitas out there for those looking to change their life for the better!

Hey all,

wasn’t planning on doing another update this soon but the clinic requested photos for my 9 month check in and so I figured I’d post them here as well since I have them. I’m about 12 days shy of the 9 month mark. Couldn’t be happier with my hair.

Did you use ketoconozole shampoo everyday? Until now?

And oral Minoxidil, are you taking it every day until now? 2.5 mg?

Hello, I used 2% keto shampoo twice a day on  MWF and klorane edelweiss shampoo all other days. I now shampoo/condiiton w just regular sulfate free stuff and use nizoral on occasion when my scalp is feeling dry or itchy.  Oral minoxidil 5mg every days for the first 3 ish months and then switched to 2.5 since I couldn’t find 5mg anywhere.

When did you stop with the daily Keto usage?

Any sides with the Oral Minoxidil? Is it for life time?

Can’t exactly remember since the 2% I really just used until I ran out. I’d say it was about 3 months and it was never daily. Just mon/weds/fri. Also no side effects with anything and yes I plan on taking it for the foreseeable future.

Hello Will! Congrats on the result, it looks amazing!!! Freitas is a pro ! I’m 11 days after my own hair transplant with Freitas and I want to ask you about the Clobisdin/Clobetazol solution. Did you have any side effects from it ? Was your redness at the recipient area caused from this or from the hair transplant? Freitas’s notes tell me to start using the solution but I’m a bit scared because it’s a strong corticosteroid and I don’t know what it might do. Please answer !!

Thank you !

Hey man, thank you!!

I used the clobetazol as instructed (20 days on, 20 days off, and 20 days on again) and had no issues at all. I’m not sure how much it contributed to the final results, but I do trust Dr de Freitas and was happy to follow his process.

Ok ! Thank you ! Also, have you noticed any difference in the hair texture of the transplanted hair compared to the hair that you had before in the frontal area ?

The transplanted hair was a bit coarser for a while, but now at a year everything is cohesive. A few months ago I started using deep moisturizing conditioner and shampoo and a hair mask as well. That has definitely helped.

So I just read that topical corticosteroids can cause skin thinning after prolonged use....Freitas has instructed me to use 10 drops of the Clobetasol solution on my recipient area daily for 20 days then take a break for 20 days and then use it again for 20 days again. Is that going to be ok for the skin ?? I'm honestly scared because I tend to get seborrheic dermatitis around my hairline especially when it gets irritated and I'm worried that the solution might do that.

I’d just consult with the doctor if you are unsure. Like I said I followed his instructions to a T and had absolutely no issues, but I can’t guarantee that will be the case for you. I don’t think this would be considered prolonged use, but I’m not a doctor so I could be completely wrong about that. I’m sure his team would be happy to address the concerns you have

1 year update

hi all, I can’t believe it’s already been a year since my HT with Dr de Freitas, but here we are somehow. What a journey it’s been. Thank you again to everyone who contributes to this forum, and a very special thanks to those who have provided advise, reassurance, and support on my own personal journal here on the forum. I couldn’t be happier with my results, and I can’t say enough good things about dr de Freitas. He has without a doubt changed my life, renewed my confidence in myself, and given me a chance to move forward without the constant worry about my hair, and the mental struggle that comes with that. I am so happy to share his work here for all to see, in hopes that he is able to help others in the way he has helped me. With this update I am including a few side by sides of my before pics, to really showcase what an incredible surgeon and artist he is. I’m not sure if this will be my last update or if there will be more, so I just want to say thanks again.
