Senior Member mavigo Posted December 31, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted December 31, 2022 I posted about this before in the "Hair Transplant Experiences and Surgeon Reviews" section when I had just made an account a while back and didn't really know what I was doing. So I decided to post a more detailed review of the experience of my first transplant with full photo documentation with minimal commentary by me. Went to this doctor in April 2019. He recommended that I do 1400 grafts FUT. He agreed on a "moderate" hairline with minor lowering. I tried to get pre-op design photos from the clinic but they said they did not have any on file. This how my MPB was progressing in 2019: Here are photos ~ 2 days after the procedure; unfortunately they were taken from an older phone and the practice did not have any immediate post-op photos on file. 6 Month Follow Up: 12 month follow up: I'll leave it at just these photos. Next week I'll be having a second procedure. Thanks. Senior Member JayLDD Posted December 31, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted December 31, 2022 Considered writing this in all caps just so you would get the message. The work you had done is God awful and you should completely rethink your decision to have a second procedure, you should consult members and research for at least 20 hours and a few months AT MINIMUM before you have more work done. This is barely a step up from a botched procedure. DON'T get a second procedure because you are a poor judge of quality at this point and need to do more research. You're pissing money and donor down the drain. Regroup and take a serious think about what you're doing. If this sounds like an extreme response, good because you need a wake up call. The work you had done is not at a standard ANY clinic should operate at in 2022. It looks awful, but you can get such a better result with a competent doctor. 3 1 1 HT1: https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/48494-asmed-koray-erdogan-3070-grafts-april-10th/ HT2: https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/51224-3038-grafts-fue-asmed-koray-erdogan-30th-april/

Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted December 31, 2022 Administrators Share Posted December 31, 2022 It’s not good, but there are some positives. You didn’t use a lot of donor, and at least there’s no significant scarring in the frontal hairline. This is a relatively easy fix. 1 I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. Senior Member HappyMan2021 Posted December 31, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted December 31, 2022 @mavigo im curious why your 2nd procedure is almost 4 years from your 1st? Were you happy with the 1st procedure? Or perhaps life circumstances or finances prevented you from getting this 2nd surgery earlier? Are you indeed getting it with Dr. Panine? Hopefully the yield is much better

Regular Member NikosHair Posted January 1, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) I agree with the other posters, very poor. Perhaps the Doctor should rename the practice to HALT Hair Restoration. Edited January 1, 2023 by NikosHair

Senior Member Sitries1 Posted January 7, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 7, 2023 Wow. This is a bad one. As others have said though, it Should be an easy fix and lucky not much donor hair was burned up.
Senior Member drawdownfx Posted January 7, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 7, 2023 Had a mini heart attack thinking you were going back to the same doc. I am so glad that only 1400 grafts were done so this could have been much worse. Dr Panine has a good reputation I hope it all goes well! 1 1 My hair transplant Journey with Dr. Freitas

Regular Member Impact Posted January 18 Regular Member Share Posted January 18 I had 2200 grafts 1100 on crown and 1100 in front first pic with short hair is from 2020 and longer hair is 8 months post opp
Regular Member Impact Posted January 18 Regular Member Share Posted January 18 I had 2200 grafts 1100 on crown and 1100 in front first 2 pics are before and the second two pics are about 8 months post opp . Ended up with hair but it’s patchy even at 10 months post opp . My hairline is way off and uneven . Definitely need it fixed . I read your post and dr holt said he could only do 1400 but he did 2200 on my procedure so they were rushing to get them all in . The short cut they take is he puts larger incisions for crown and puts double grafts. I would rather have not had that done. My crown feels like there is some scaring . Live and learn . The only reason I went to him and trusted he was good is because number one he’s the only guy in town and has been in business for a while My surgeon referred me to him. I don’t think my plastic surgeon knew he wasn’t the best at it . I think he just knew he was the only guy in town and heard of him . I wish I would have known about this site . Very informative. I’ve learned a lot and now moving forward will make better decisions. I’m not giving up . I’m gonna meet with Dr Pinine in February . To talk about the front and 3 months later go back for my crown . I’m not gonna do both at the same time . I want to focus on one area at a time. I also asked holt for my pics he took before and they didn’t respond . When he showed me them at 6 months my head looked way worse then pics I took . Wondered if he photoshopped them to make them look worse so it makes him look like a miracle worker . Lol
Senior Member mavigo Posted January 18 Author Senior Member Share Posted January 18 @Impact An unethical doctor indeed. He duped me into an FUT, telling me it was the gold standard and FUE makes it look like you shot in the back of the head by a shotgun. The FUT was painful and left a large scar, the FUE by Dr. P went really well and the experience was so much better. Did they use the ARTAS machine for these FUE procedures? I was told that they don’t take before pictures. They messed up my hairline too and brought it down really low. And there's no record, no photos of the lines drawn on my head; we agreed to keep the hairline "moderate" but that's not what happened. The truth is that there are no suitable HT doctors in Michigan, Chicago is the closest. There’s also some good docs in Ohio & Minnesota as well. Now that you know the truth about him, search his name on these forums. “Been in business a while” and has been controversial during that while too. 1 FUE 2400 Grafts (2023) - Dr. Panine; Chicago Hair Transplant Clinic FUT 1400 Grafts (2019) - Dr. Steven Paul Holt; Holt Hair Restoration/Bella
