Hi Calihome1 and others,

It is a combination of different things that has made it possible for us to achieve this. Strict routines, team work between Dr Bisanga, Dr Kostis and other members of medical team where each person has their specific role and is an important part of the chain.

Skipping the ugly phase was previously an exception but is now standard for many of my patients. Although, of course, we can not guarantee this every time. Even if the patient experiences early growth, they should expect that the maturation of the hair still takes 12 months. And it is not until then that we know for sure that all transplants are established.

What do you mean maturation of the hair? Like hair getting thicker over time?

Exactly! Always thinner quality at the beginning. It takes time before the hair gets to the same quality and become one with the native hair. Sometimes patients also experience pigment differences since hair from the back of head usually is darker. This is transient and the contrast disappears as hair matures.

6 months and three weeks update. 

Sorry for the sporadic updates. I very rarely think about hairloss anymore, which is a bliss. 

Here are my updates. I concluded this summer that transplanted hairs also gets more blonde when I spend more time outside during summer  .

Unfortunately, your camera has focused on the camera itself in the mirror, and we cant see Bisanga's quality work

I have a question to those who have had a hairline transplant. 

I have a lot of curls where the newly hairs have been planted. Will these fade with time? Didn't have it before. But have had some curls in the back and side before. 
 

7 months post op today.

Edit: Used a little pomade wax in this picture.

Most accounts on the forum say the texture of the hair starts to normalize more in the 12-18 month range. Sometimes later like 24. I wouldn't worry about it right now, but I'm sure you could ask Dr. Bisanga's office what his patients generally report if you want a more specific timeline.

The result looks really good and you're not quite at the final stage, so the texture is really just a matter of patience. The hair is basically not "matured" yet but should get there with time.

@Mdc2021 your donor hair is curly and will remain so in the recipient area. 

True, transplanted hair texture can change a bit as the months go by, but definitely will not go from curly to straight

An elite doctor should be able to note the curls and angle the hair to account for the curl so that it will be visually look straight-ish (imo you cant 100% get rid of the curl shape)

Idk why this forum has a crush on curls. True curls help with the illusion of density, but at the same time curls are a pain in the a** to style

And im positive as the patient, you never thought youd end up with curly hair in your hairline.

1. I absolutely love the result and considering Bisanga myself. How do you feel the angle of grafts are? Does the angle they were implanted perfectly match that of the existing hair?

2. Could we please see a pic WITHOUT the wax, in its pure natural form..? Thanks!

Thanks. I am very pleased with everything. Placement and angle. Looks really natural which was a goal of mine. I am a bit concerned that the curls will not fade with time. I'd like it to be more straight, cause easier to style. 

The last picture is my donor pre-op. I didn't expect it to be this curly, since I only had moderate curls. Hope (and think) it might fade more over time.

Pics without hair products. No shower this morning.

It takes 12 months for the grafts to establish. It will take even longer for the hair to mature and become one with the native. Normally 12-18 month range or up to 24 months. Njoy life, be happy for what you have and give the curls some time to fade. 👍🙂
