For 2.5 months that should be fading away by now I feel. He’s not mentioned that before. Yeah I did have concerns with the redness but I think it’s just blood vessels. When I press on it it goes white. 🤷♂️ It should fade. Rolandas had the redness for 6 months I believe.
Regular Member deeside81 Posted August 11, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 11, 2021 (edited) What do people think? Does it look ok? Getting a tad paranoid now. 😬. Dr Ferreira always leaves me hanging and it hard to decipher his 2 sentence emails. Doubt I’ll get a response to my reply. It seems like he’s too busy. Senior Member SD1984 Posted August 11, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 11, 2021 I don't understand... what are your concerns exactly? Growth? Everyone wants early growth but 2.5 months is still super early. In the meantime, how was the experience with Dr. Ferreira overall? He is on my short list. Where did you fly in from? What time did you have to be at the clinic in the morning?

What time did you have to be at the clinic in the morning? As you said it looks a bit red/rough. I have had these concerns for a while and if the ht fails I’ll just shave and get on with my life, so if my skin hasn’t healed properly it will look horrendous. As you can imagine I’m not so confident about the outcome after having the infection in the donor area and all that worrying during the 6 weeks had left a bad taste in my mouth. 8k spent makes the worrying worse. I flew from London although I live in Scotland but it was the only option at the time due to covid. I had to be at the clinic at 8am Overall experience is a bit mixed. The surgery went really well. No pain, comfortable (aided by sedatives), very clean, after care instructions clear and the technicians were fantastic - made you feel completely at ease. Dr Ferreira was professional. First week or so after surgery he asked me to send daily photos and his responses were immediate and he followed up with my questions extensively. After a couple of weeks he didn’t really engage in any concerns and for the infection I had to prompt him to reply via the coordinator on WhatsApp. I guess he might be extremely busy. Senior Member SD1984 Posted August 11, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 11, 2021 Yes he is an extremely busy doctor, from all I can gather. When I emailed him he took a bit to respond as well but he always did. I think you were in very good hands and I'm optimistic about your results. Keep us posted.
Senior Member Min12 Posted August 11, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted August 11, 2021 I mean he does take forever to respond to consultations and does seem to be booked up for months and months ahead of time. Also I’m guessing fast track consultations are taking up his time as well. Since he does pretty much all of the surgery himself which could last 8 hours or even sometimes 2-3 days depending on the case, I’d say give it some time and try to be patient as be should get back.

I'm considering Ferreira but stuff like this makes me think twice. Busy or not, that sort of behavior is unacceptable.

Regular Member bw77 Posted August 21, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted August 21, 2021 Mate! You're going to have an outstanding result. The work looks phenomenal to me. Try not to be too concerned about the ugly duckling hiccups. I had redness for months, I'll flick you a private message that I hope will help.

But follow-up care is almost as important as the procedure and result. So if he is slacking on the follow-up then at the very least he should have someone employed to address your concerns and put your mind at rest... quite shocking that this isn't already in place tbh as i figured they had all areas covered.... I guess not...
Regular Member bw77 Posted September 26, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted September 26, 2021 Here it comes!! I'm interested to learn more about Dr Ferreira's approach. How much work does he do personally and how much work do techs do? Does Dr Ferreira remove all grafts from the donor area and make all incisions? Do techs then implant? He is the only one who touches your head. Techs assist him (ie setting up the implanters) One “negative” about this is he can only do up to a certain amount of grafts in one day so a lot of the time it’s a 2 day surgery. So you’d want to hope you’re prepared to sleep well after that first day of surgery Bc you have another day to go.

Regular Member deeside81 Posted December 4, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 4, 2021 (edited) Hi. Ok this is over 6.5 months. My hair grows quick so I’ve had the front cut a couple of times. In overhead indoor lighting you can tell it’s definitely not as dense as it would be naturally. The left hand side is definitely not as dense as the right. This has been the case for months. In daylight with no overhead lighting it looks great and you can’t see the scalp. I messaged the Dr about my concerns and he advised to wait for full maturity. Pretty sure this is going to be it as it came through so quickly. It’s not changed since 4 months in terms of the density. Last few photos out of overhead light. Can’t delete some of them for some reason so you can judge which ones were in overhead light at the end. It’ll be pretty difficult trying to avoid over head light in Scotland. Indoor lighting is mostly on as we are so far up north and not much sunshine even in summer. I’ve been applying minoxidil each day for about 5 months and I’m still taking 1ml fin Edited December 4, 2021 by deeside81
Senior Member Sitries1 Posted December 4, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted December 4, 2021 What an awesome result!!! I’m booked in with Dr Ferreira next week (Tuesday and Wednesday).
