First, sorry you are going through this. I was 19 when my MPB started and it was just terrible.

Second, clearly you are getting some different opinions here, but I think you could have a HT and get a good result. You will never have a full head of hair, but a good HT with a conservative hairline could do a lot for your appearance. Recognize you will likely need 2-3 surgeries to get there, but it is definitely possible.

I know man. I've never wanted a full head of hair as long as my head had a nice and good buzzcut design look

I feel you man, I'm 22 years old and started losing my hair when I was 15.5, my father noticed that my crown was thinning when i was sitting, he took me to the doctor and since then my nightmare has began, The doctor looked at my father (Norwood 7), and said there's nothing i can do, i took propecia when I was 16.5, minoxidil twice a day, nothing did not help me, I started searching online, my english is not my first language and it took awhile until it got better, it was very hard for me to understand but i was browsing each day for over 4 hours on forums of HT, Hair systems etc, i started using toppik when i was 16 - 21, i did not swim for 5 years, i gaveup on many things in my life just to have "Hair", nobody knew i was losing my hair, not even my ex who was with me for 3 years, (I woke up every morning 1 hour earlier just to take a shower and reapply the toppik), it started getting wrose when i was 21 and i had to find a solution, after long re-search of HT i understood it was not the right thing for me for few reasons :

1.I was young, and im heading to norwood 7 like my father, there is no way in the world i could have full head of hair with my hairloss, So i did a lot of research about hair systems, i went to salon in my country, paid 2800$, my hair was always pretty short so i wanted them to attach it without shaving it first just to see how it would look, it looked so bad, with super high destiny just like a dead cat on my head, i asked to throw it away, i paid the money and got nothing, but again - I did not giveup, i did some research for few weeks and found a good factory that producing those hair systems for wayyyy cheaper, i bought a custom one I have chose the destiny, kind of base etc etc, I also decided to cut it my self, I knew the only way to be 100% happy is if everything will be done by me, unfurtaneltly i ruin the first one, also the second one, even the forth one... (I did all this after my gf broke up with me, that's also when my hair got way worst), thanks god i have a support family, they gave me up, especially my mother who did not want to me to go bald like my father :P

my 5th system, I did cut it down perfectly and actually copied the hair i had with toppik, i'm wearing for 2 years, fucked over 20 girls, my gf wants me back for almost a year, i started going hard on gym, thanks to my hairloss I opened 2 kinds of business, hair fibers business and I also supply hair systems to hair salons in my country, i lost many of my years as a teenger, but i knew that i prefer to die instead of being bald, and all the hard works, all the fear, all the stress in the end, it was worth it.

I'm sorry that I wrote so many words and I know it's not easy to understand with my english, i just want to tell you that i was in your stage, we are about the same age, i can tell you for sure that hair transplant is not the right thing for you right now (I consider HT my self in 2 years) just for my hairline so i can expose it without fear like with Hair system, but now it's not the time, i think if hair is really important for you, you should give a try to hair systems, i can help you with what ever you need, it took me a lot of time until i understood the kind of bases, what to order, how to attach, what kind of glue\tape is right for me, but in the end, it's worth it, i'm wearing as i have mentioned for 2 years, i swim, i go to pool partys, i sleep with woman, i do what ever I want, none of my friends (Except one that i have told him im wearing, and he still can't see what im talking about), nobody suspect a thing, i wear thin skin (Not lace), which is also impossible to feel when touch, it's like a scalp, the only difference between this and real hair is 0.08 MM and attachment that you have to do your self once a week which takes 1 hour including shower.

Here's some photos with my hair system, i like short style, I also think it's more natural for me, so if you need any kind of help of anything, i can help you like hundreds of people helped me

I feel you bro. I just want a HT because it's the natural hair that will be transplanted. I'm not into hair system and SMP bullshit, because then I will feel like I'm pretending to be somebody I'm not, therefore I'd rather be bald than using systems and things because I still wanna do things without ppl realizing it's not my natural hair. But if youre personally happy with it, then so be it.

Btw, it looks like you've come a long way in your hair loss so why have put a HT on hold?

You are fooling no one but yourself, there is absolutely nothing natural about hair transplants, make no mistake about it, you have this belief that HT's solve hair loss but that is nothing further from the truth, I've tried many times to explain it to you but this will be my last time after this your life your decision.

Okay male pattern baldness is not a stagnant condition, like any illness its progressive and only gets worse with age, you're still a teenager but you are already extensively bald. The average person is born with 50,000 follicular units, the top of the head has roughly 25,000 follicular units before balding. You may not even have 5,000 follicular units that is permanent to transplant, there is no way you can replace 25,000 with 5,000 and make it look how it was before. Additionally, there is no guarantee those 5,000 grafts would even grow.

You are unhappy about being bald correct? Well how would you feel if you had a transplant and the result was the picture I've posted, it's a real possibility that your sides will drop, and if you have a transplant in the next 5 years this could be you when you're in your 30's. A hair system is 100x more natural looking than that. NO BODY and I mean NO BODY can predict your pattern with certainty most definitely not in your teens or early 20's, even if you wait to 25 that's pushing it, I experienced the most hair loss from 25-29. Fair warning, if you'd rather shave your head than do it, shaving your head has no risk and is natural, ultimately accepting being bald will save you thousands of dollars and potential heart ache, every botched transplant patient I've ever seen has been someone who had an HT in their early to 20's and yes they still happen, I know a member on this board who's a repair patient in his 20's who went to a top notch clinic.

Without the use of preventive medication then this could really happen to you, at some point of this guys life when he was in his 20's his transplant was covering the only balding areas he had, once he became older the crown opened up sides dropped and this disaster happened, I still fear this happening to me and I'm taking every preventive medicine I can tolerate and I'm a lot older than you, hair transplants do not cure hair loss they do not stop hair loss they do not create new hair, you are simply moving existing hair from one place to another nothing more, if there is not enough hair and you've already started the process then you're in trouble.

Absolutely, it's my fear, I had my HT at 29 which is much different than 19, I've also had several microscopic evaluations of my hair in person prior to having any HT's,I'm also committed to taking preventive measures for the long term. Any doctor who tells you can have an HT in 5 years is a liar, there's no way they can predict at your age what your pattern will be, it's likely you'll be extensively bald by 30 your sides may drop crown open up, 11 years is a long time especially in balding years without prevention. You're a kid so I don't fault you for thinking like you are, but if you don't want to listen to guys who've been through it and have nothing to gain, and you'd rather listen to Dr. Doganay who was suspended for poor results and not managing future hair loss well then I wish you the best, good luck.

This guy was 26 when he went to Dr. doganay and like you underestimated his future loss now hes regretting his decision and has disappeared, I think I'm wasting my breath so I'll just stop at this.

Btw, it looks like you've come a long way in your hair loss so why have put a HT on hold?

Because there is no way I could become norwood 1 with HT, first of all, since i have the worst genetic ever, I even shedding at my nap area and sides, when i look at my father and all his six brother (Also in my mother side with her two brothers), they all norwood 7, and they have no hair at their nap, their temple went way back (I will be there also in couple of years), but i will still have about 2000-3000 grafts at the heart of my donor area just to fill those temples + build a new hairline and just put full cap hair system behind it (Which is an hair system for the entire head).

I don't feel i'm lying to my self as you have mentioned, well, maybe a little, but I do rather "lie" to my self instead of look at the mirror and be sad, i just know i won't look good without hair, like i said, i'm wearing for 2 years, nobody knows im wearing, my cousins are like "How you still have full head of hair"? they think propecia helps me, all the girls i have been dating in the last 2 years, had no clue i was wearing, they could touch my head during sex and felt nothing because i wear thin skin, it's just like a scalp, you can't feel anything.

Why would I go through the HT if there is NO WAY in the world i will be able to cover the entire scalp, not even 1\3, I still keep searching about HT, i'm still reading every day because I think about the future and I know I will need to have a small HT in couple of years but i prefer to save those grafts just for my temples + hairline instead of just having super thin hair that will look awful.

Listen to HTsoon, i see his comments on every single post, also spanker, those guys are truly helpful and they want the best for you, being bald is sucks, I know, I wanted to die my self, seriously, dying, but be bald with high scar and few hairs on the scalp will look so much worst, you don't want to do this and none top doctor like konior, hasson or rahal will take you as a patient.

and HTsoon is also right about what he has told you, my sides dropt and i can still see some of it will drop, atleast 4 cm, i see it's thinner, i also look at my father and can tell where im going for, if you don't want to go with hair system and I understand, it's not for everyone, i also believe people without hair dressing skills won't be able to take care of it and make it undetecable 100%, you can go with SMP, and if you also prefer not to go with that you better shave everything and live with that, but don't even think to go with HT, that would be the worst decision brother.

HTsoon fears it. I fear it. And to be honest everyone here on the forum fears it. It is our worst nightmare...

Please heed our advise and forget any thoughts about HTs at least for the next 6 years. Meanwhile, please shave your head and hit the gym. Going to the gym would not only make you look better with a shaved head but also would help your mental health a lot.

ForeverBlue, I know how you feel. I believe me and HTsoon both have been in your shoes. I was 20 myself and was an NW4 by 24. I know how it feels living our peak years in worrieness and depression. The guys have given you good advice. NO ONE can predict what NW you will end up.

I researched 3 years before having my first transplant and I was also vary of using preventive meds. I started on fin just after having my first transplant. And it has greatly helped in strengthening and keeping my existing hair. But I also know it won't last forever. The meds are merely slowing down my genetic and final balding pattern. I rather slow it down than lose it within a few years.

Please heed what the guys are telling you. Right now your donor is unstable and you could lose the transplanted hair resulting in disappointment and unwanted scarring which could have been avoided. I have attached a pic of myself before I had my transplant so you know you ain't alone. We know how it feels
