I would like to acknowledge the wonderful work by the members of this community. Pat, Bill, David and Blake are doing a great job. Keep it up! After some in-depth research, I had 3 to choices that I was considering. All of them are members of the Coalition. I chose Dr. Cooley. I know I have made the best choice for me. I admire his passion and dedication to improve hair transplant procedures. The consultation by Lollie is wonderful. She has a lot of knowledge and is very helpful and informative. Regular Member Mue Posted April 11, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 11, 2015 I had my surgery with Dr. Cooley on April 8th 2015. This website has been very beneficial to me and I would like to share my experience. I arrived at his office early morning am on Wednesday April 8th. First we went over some more questions and discussing my goals. All this was discussed during the consultation but it is good to go over them again before the actual procedure too. Basically my goal is to cover the frontal region. I took some meds and then Dr. Cooley took some pre-op pictures. I also met Brandi there while taking pictures. He drew the hair line on my head and as soon as he did that, I completely felt very comfortable because it was exactly as I had envisioned it. My wife was there too and she also immediately approved the hair line. So that really showed me his expertise and knowledge. And it gave me an assurance about him. Then we went to the operation room while my wife waited in the waiting room. Then I took some more meds and had an IV. Then I laid face down on the strip removal chair. I was nervous about this but honestly I did not feel a thing. I only thing I felt was some numbing shots to my head, and it was very minor pinches. I fell asleep and, as I woke up, the room was full of technicians and the strip was already removed and my head was already sutured. It was very quick and seamless. While the technicians where dissecting the graphs, Dr. Cooley was doing the holes where the graphs would go. It was Dr. Cooley and Brandi that did all the graph insertions. Dr. Cooley was there the whole time, and this is very important for me that the Doctor be there. I know some are alright otherwise but for me it shows the care of the doctor and I really appreciate that he was there the whole time. Although he did step out once and another able technician, Amy, came in to assist. But Dr. Cooley came back. Then it was over. The whole procedure took about 11 hours. If anyone wants more detailed info regarding the procedure please IM me or reply to this thread. I had initially wanted to get at least 3000 graphs but what Doctor Cooley did was very impressive. He got 3522 graphs and only charged me for the 3000. Here is the breakdown of the graph count, let me know what you all think: 1 : 1086 2: 1519 3: 812 4: 105 At the end of the operation I told Dr. Cooley that before coming here to meet you, I felt that I had picked a good surgeon but now that I have met you and your staff and did the operation, I KNOW that I had picked the best surgeon for me. And I really mean that. He is very caring and wants to do the best for his patients. The first two pics are pre-op and the third one is the day after the procedure after the head wash. I would really appreciate any feeback from you all. Thanks. I will try my best to do updates.

Regular Member Mue Posted April 11, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 11, 2015 Thanks 1978matt. I am 38 yo. I opted to get a good frontal coverage. And D. Cooley mentioned that I have really good donor hair. So I got my fingers crossed and hoping to get a good result. Thanks.

Regular Member Mue Posted April 14, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 14, 2015 Thanks Pete-from-Farjo. I am about 1 week post op and I have not experienced any swelling. I was nervous about that. But I have some yellow scappings. I am not sure what it is. I have some dark brown scaps and some that are yellowish. Is that normal at this time... Regular Member Mue Posted April 16, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 16, 2015 Dr. Cooley's office advised me that the yellow and brown scabs are normal and I should not worry about it. Things are going normal thus far. No major changes yet. Today I stopped wearing the plastic wrap and am doing the spray 3 times a day rather than every 1 hr. That was my favorite time when the plastic wrap came off! Are you going in for your cleaning in a few days? The first week is such a pain but you are halfway there. Regular Member Mue Posted May 5, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 5, 2015 @Newfueguy : I could not go for the clean up because I live a good distance from Dr. Cooley. @WHTC : Thanks. Just a quick update. I went and removed the sutures exactly 3 weeks after the surgery at my primary care doctor. I am glad that it is out. My doctor mentioned that the stitches were done very nicely and he mentioned that some areas have already healed. Good work Dr. Cooley. I do feel some bumps here and there along the suture line and some numbness on my right side above the ear. Right now I am starting to shed some of the graphs. They are coming out with some having the scab attached to it. I will post some pics later on. Thanks.
Regular Member Mue Posted January 1, 2016 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 1, 2016 I am about 9 months post op. I would like to post the result that I have seen thus far. Although, I still have 4 months to go until the first year, but I am very pleased thus far. People have complimented on my hair. I went to the barber last week, and he could not see the scar and he was really looking for it. I am extremely pleased with the work of Dr. Cooley. I am very glad that, with the help of many members of this forum, I was able to find him and choose him. I believe that there are many great HT docs, and Dr. Cooley is diff one of the top doctors! I really appreciate his constant push to improve the HT procedure. And his efforts prove great results. If anyone has any questions regarding the procedure, please feel free to IM me or reply to this message. I have attached some pics and the pics where taken in the bathroom with very harsh lighting. The light was actually right in front on my head. What do you guys think?
