Regular Member U2rock Posted April 26, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) Background Info: I am 36 years old Indian guy living in States from past 20 some years. About 6 years ago I started considering a hair transplant, I had started losing my hair in my mid twenties but I was on meds (one and off). I was Norwood 5 pattern at the time of surgery. I came to cross this website to see results, suggested doctors and all of the other good info. I have consulted with few doctors in US along with few of doctors in India. After extensive research and communication, I decided with go with Dr.Bhatti based from his results, solely dedication to FUE HT and the price. I must've communicated with Dr.Bhatti least 50 times via email. He was very responsive, he also got me in touch with his US based consultant. HT Discussion with Dr.Bhatti After few consultations, Dr.Bhatti suggested I probably need between 3000 to 3500 grafts for my desired results and the area. HT Procedure day I went to India few days prior to my HT. I drove to Dr.Bhatti's clinic on the morning of HT. Arrived at his clinic at 7:30am. Went through final consultation which was very short. Went to final comments and suggestion such as hairline and number of grafts required. After payment in full, everything started pretty fast. Shampoo was given by his staff and haircut by Dr.Bhatti. I was taken to OR for harvesting. I lied face down in the operating chair with my head turned to one side and the anesthetic was applied. That part is not fun but certainly tolerable when you keep the end goal in mind, it was also difficult trying to find a comfortable position when lying on your stomach with your head turned to the side. In the end, Dr.Bhatti was able to get 3875 grafts from donor area which was a great result and he said we’d be able to do whatever we want with the hairline or dense other area as well. Harvesting procedure took about little over 3 hrs. Dr.Bhatti's tech's picked the grafts after he made the punches. After lunch Dr.Bhatti drew in the hairline and temple points and away he went with his implanter (cutter) after more local anesthesia. For this part you are in a much more comfortable normal reclining position watching the movie. After the cuts, Dr.Bhatti's tech's started to implant the grafts. Implanting the grafts took over 6 hours since only 1 tech was working on me. Dr.Bhatti would stopby here and there. Dr.Bhatti's tech (Parneet) was very helpful and she worked on me with implanting until 8pm. I was tired by this time. Hotel Dr.Bhatti's staff made arrangement for my to stay at Gaur Hotel which was very good and good price. I highly recommend to stay there. Next Day of HT I came back the following morning for a donor area wash, was given more anti-inflammatory meds and a thorough post-operative discussion with tech's going over my care for the next month. Note: I picked the standard package which says 80% of the work will be done by Dr.Bhatti but in opinion it wasn't the case here. I would say Dr.Bhatti spent about 40% with me (only punching and making cuts for grafts). There was another patient for HT on same day but I believe he was in for 2 day procedure. I never asked for count of grafts nor I was to count for it. I also never to count how many grafts were implanted into crown, temple and forehead area but I do remember verbally tech said they implanted about 1300 grafts into my crown area. Here were the statistics from the surgery: Statistics: Grafts: 3875 Singles: 779 Doubles: 1705 Triples: 1391 I am posting pics which are taken at different stages of my HT journey. Will continue to post on monthly basis. PS: You are more than welcome to provide your comments. Currently I am taking Finasteride 1MG, 1 Biotin and 2% Rogaine everyday. After 6 weeks of HT, I will change to 5% Rogaine. Question to community: I do have access to Avodart (Dutasteride) of .5MG, should I use Avodart instead of Propecia? Regular Member U2rock Posted April 27, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 27, 2014 hi , was the procedure painful? Overall procedure wasn't that bad but laying on your stomach and not finding comfort position during harvesting session wasn't comfortable. Dr did allow me to stretch my head. Also toward the end of procedure after 10 hours I was getting tired but I told myself its for me and hung in there for the end.
Regular Member U2rock Posted June 2, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 2, 2014 2 month status update I've seen some new hairs in frontal area and some in crown. There is little bit of improvement but nothing major. I do understand I need to wait another 7-10 months before I can see full grow in my HT hairs. I still have numbness on frontal area of the head. Sometimes numbness goes away and other days it will be there. Rogaine foam 5% at night time (daily) Finasteride 1MG 1 Biotin shampoo about 2-3 times a week. Here are some picture taken couple of days ago. Not much activity going on this thread
Senior Member densedream Posted June 3, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted June 3, 2014 Thanks for your update. I am most likely going to Dr. Bhatti as well for about 2000 grafts. I will continue to monitor your progress. Good Luck!

There is some redness on the frontal area. About 70% of the numbness is gone. Rogaine foam 5% at night time (daily) Finasteride 1MG 1 Biotin shampoo about 2-3 times a week. Regular Member U2rock Posted June 26, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 26, 2014 Here is million dollar question: Currently I am taking 1MG of Finasteride. Should I change to .5MG of Avodart? If I can easily access to it and cost isn't the issue? I've searched online which does indicate that Avodart .5MG has better results than 1 and 5 MG of Finasteride. Your feedback will be highly appreciated. Anyone currently taking Avodart or its generic for Hair Loss purpose?

I take it, but I have aggressive loss, and I have not seen regrowth yet. 3382 FUE Lupanzula http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185463-3382-grafts-lupanzula.html

Senior Member mikeey Posted July 21, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted July 21, 2014 I think by 4 months , u shud be getting far better growth .... albeit not as strong , and considering your age .... looks gappy ... I was looking for far more density , considering that DR. Bhatti is a expert FUE doctor , but the only thing I feel he seriously Lags is the Creation of MODERN Hairlines , which in my opinion Dr. Rahal and Dr. Lorenzo are the Kings !! Dr. Bhatti's hairlines are very Far from Impressive and often they give a Pluggy and doll like look ,...... in FUE we look for soft Natural Hairlines . Hi Mikeey, As you know, 4 months post-op results can vary from Patient to Patient. Growth tends to be faster in some Patients and slower in others. I am sure that this Patient will have an excellent growth in the coming few months. Please note that Dr. Bhatti's hairlines and hairline design were discussed and documented extensively on this Forum recently, when Dr. Bhatti's name was proposed for a potential recommendation. This community spoke and Dr. Bhatti got recommended by this prestigious Forum. Here is the link to the recommendation post (in case you missed it) http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/175737-potential-recommendation-dr-tejinder-bhatti-chandigarh-india.html In regards to Dr. Bhatti's hairline designs, wanted to share just a few cases documented on this Forum with you. With such a high Patient satisfaction and validation, a "pluggy" hairline just does not add up. http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/journal.asp?CopyID=9583&WebID=2698 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/173381-3000-grafts-hairline-repair-dr-bhatti-india-january-7-2014-a.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/167897-hair-transplant-dr-tejinder-bhatti-darling-buds-chandigarh-india.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169396-2157-fue-grafts-dr-tejinder-bhatti.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/175847-6-months-update-dr-bhatti.html Thank you, California North America Representative and Patient Advisor for: Dr. Tejinder Bhatti, Darling Buds Hair Transplant Center, Chandigarh, India. Senior Member mikeey Posted July 21, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted July 21, 2014 Dear California Sir did not mean to say that Dr. Bhatti is not good on hairlines , I just voiced my opinion that I personally like the works to Dr. Bisanga , Dr edrogan , Dr Rahal and Dr. Lorenzo , as they give a European Hairline , that is rounded from the center , Dr. Bhatti in my study prefers a More Tapering Pointed Center which I do not like becos it looks not so dense ... if he works towards more semi circle type patterns .... I think Not only will the Density Look awesome ... but also the outcome will look favourable , I think like us patients ... even the Doctors Need our Feed back so that they can give improved results and thus happier patients , Never do I doubt the skill of Dr. Bhatti , But he can always Improve ... as skills are to be improved for the betterment of society and you know How BALDNESS Really Sucks !! ,

As you know, none of us is perfect and there is always room for improvement and betterment. Like other things, HT is not a perfect science and it keeps evolving, adapting and improving. As Dr. Bhatti clearly mentioned in his post on this Forum recently, he has been quite proactive to the Patient's wishes and aspirations and made some subtle changes in his hairline designs, to make them even better. Again, your feedback is highly appreciated. Thank you. California North America Representative and Patient Advisor for: Dr. Tejinder Bhatti, Darling Buds Hair Transplant Center, Chandigarh, India. Regular Member U2rock Posted July 26, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 26, 2014 I've looked at few other patients who posted pictures 4 months post HT and their progress bit better than mine. I guess I am slow grower. I don't mind waiting long as I do get really good growth. I also looked at few other posts after 4-6 months HT and their hairline didn't show too many plugs as my pictures do but it could be phase of the HT. My fingers are crossed

Regular Member woodraider Posted July 31, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted July 31, 2014 Hi U2 It was really great going through your post and regular update via pics. I am a norwood 4 and just got my HT done from Dr Bhatti a week back - 3000 grafts in frontal and crown. M in the painful and itching period right now, and just waiting for the week to pass by. I think your transplant has shown progress but not sure if the slow speed is something to worry about yet. Will look forward to more updates from you and hope you gain more density soon.
