FUE with Health Travel International

I am 8 months post-op following FUE Hair Transplant with Health Travel International (1950 grafts). Now that my results are visible I wanted to share them on here as this forum helped me a lot when I was doing my research before deciding to have the op.

I am 42 years old. I am fit and healthy, go to the gym regularly, do not smoke and drink only occasionally. I have 5 other brothers. 3 are totally bald. Two with receding hairlines. So baldness is hereditary within the family. My older tried for years with different hair growth creams, oil etc but to no avail. Hair transplant was never an option in Malaysia where we grew up. It was not available then. I first started losing my hair at age 21. It started receding at the hairline and just got worse over time despite my best efforts to hide the bald patches. I never tried any medications, treatments, as I never believed that these would ever work. I knew my brother tried for years without any success. I kinda accept that it was a natural process and part of my genes.

My hair loss was something that I always try not to think about in my day to day life but often reminded of whenever I looked at myself in the mirror. So every time this happened I lost a bit of my self-esteem and confidence. And had to pick myself up again. This came to head last year when I was on holiday in Borneo and my relatives made comments about my lack of hair and I should just shave my head as my remaining hair was all over the place. This definitely knocked my confidence further.

After doing some research on-line and hearing about the great work being done in Turkey, I spoke to and met with some patients who had used Health Travel International and had great results, so I decided to go ahead with them.

They arranged everything for me. All flights and transfers were arranged in advance without any problem and the team were very co-operative and flexible to my needs. The accommodation was superb. The room had a large double bed which was very comfortable and which I needed especially after the surgery. The traditional Turkish breakfast was delicious.

The treatment from the company and medical staff was excellent. I was very well looked after. I was made at ease before, during and after the surgery. The medical staff would always check if I felt okay and gave assurance all the time that things were going well and according to plan. I never once felt isolated or uninformed.

The hospital facility standard was without doubt five star, extremely modern, brand new and spotlessly clean.

The transplanted hair grew to a few millimetres in the first four weeks before starting to fall out. I was told that this was normal. Before long 25-30% of the transplanted hair started growing again which became apparent after 8 weeks. Beyond the 8th week, hair started to grow at steady pace. Now I am at 8 months post-surgery and my hair has come in leaps and bounds with up to 80% of the transplanted hair growing.

I would definitely recommend Health Travel International simply because I had such a good experience with them. The service, the advice, the surgery and most of all the results are just beyond my wildest dream. As you can see I have very thin hair and only limited donor hair so I think my results are very good considering. The price for the full package including flights, transfers, 4* accommodation, fantastic medical treatment, after-care, medications and constant support was a bargain!

My new hair has given the extra confidence and has put a big smile on my face. I can’t give enough thanks to Suat and his team.

How many grafts did you get?

I had 1950 grafts. As you can see I have very thin and sparse hair so my donor area is not good. I just wanted to restore my hairline as best I could with the hair I had left :)

I was also on hair transplantation in Health travel International, and all I can say that the whole team was superb. Also, the price isn't too high and the patients who don't have a lot of money can get a very quality hair transplantation treatment.

That's great news Walter and it seems you are growing well !

Another good result from these guys. I'm so glad people are getting great results and are being looked after by the team at HTI.

Keep the pictures coming, i for one would be interested to see how you progress further over the coming months :)

Well, albeit a very sparse spread as far as coverage goes, it is a nice improvement none-the-less, and looks to have helped frame your face better! Congratulations.....I'm glad you had such a great experience as well from this clinic....as the other forum members who I've spoken with have as well. Do you mind telling me what you paid (all inclusive)? You can PM me if you don't wish to share with the whole forum......or if you don't want to share this information at all! Also, where did you have to travel from? You said that Health Travel International arranged all your flights, but didn't know where your origination point was! Congrats again on your new look, buddy!!

Hi Tacolinowest

If you look at the pics, you can clearly see that the native hair is both very fine in texture and sparse in terms of availability.

That, plus the area of coverage required, means that the results are actually very good indeed, especially as this is only at 8 months.

Don't forget, with every HT, you are not creating more hair, just simply re-distributing what you have left, which in this case is limited.

I'm glad he is happy witht he new look and think the team at HTI have done a great job planning and transplanting the grafts to create an even, distributed look.

In truth usually a patient with donor hair and hair loss like this would most likely be turned away for a procedure, however he knew he's limitations and has achieved a nice result, couldnt really expect more....if i was in he's shoes i would do the same as framing the face improves the appearance massively.

A patient would only be turned away if the surgeon/team weren't confident in being able to achieve a better look whilst maintaining coverage in the remaining donor area.

A skilled team such as these will make the best out of what is available whilst giving realistic expectations to the patient and ensuring they carefully select the donor grafts without over harvesting certain areas and creating thin patches in the donor area.

Hello everyone, I am considering using HTI for a FUE procedure. They have gotten back to me via email with an estimate of grafts and cost, as well as a drawn hairline. Everything looks good and the price is right for me. Can anyone please PM me anything they would like to share with me about the clinic, I would greatly appreciate any and everything you'd be willing to write.

You are in very safe hand and shouldn't worry. I'm out at the moment but will pm you when back home. Feel free to ask any questions you want.

Hi WRajah2012

It's nice to see another Health Travel International patient on here. Your pics look excellent! I'm not surprised you're happy with the result. I had my op with them on 5 July so I've got a long way to go until I can be as happy as you but so far I am so pleased with the results. I had FUT some years ago now with another surgeon who completely butchered me. I have written a long article on here about the difference between FUT and FUE. I wish I had come on here and seen FUE patients like you before I had the FUT. So glad I made the choice to have FUE again though and with the right company this time. Congrats matey - looking great!

Timintex2 have a look at my article - its mainly about FUT vs FUE but I've said why I chose HTI and why I'm glad I did. I'm not sure how to link to it as I'm new on here...hopefully this will work

So I've been working really hard for the last 12 months on my physique trying to get in good shape to compete in some small men's health competitions. 2 years ago (before my HT) I was overweight, sluggish and lacking in confidence. I know my hair is real thin but as I think I said in my hair blog last year, given the really limited hair I had to work with, the new hair line has given me the confidence to turn my life around. I'm really proud of my final body results and just wanted to share and thank everybody on here for helping to give me the confidence to do something about my hair loss and overall appearance and lifestyle - Thanks guys

Hey mate - bloody hell, you are putting the rest of us to shame with those body pics :o

I had seen your post before when I first discovered the site and was still doing my research on whether or not to go ahead with FUE and with who. Now that I'm 12 months post-op I can really relate to your comments about increased confidence which is more than clear in your pics man!

I've said in my own thread about feeling so much more confident since I had the HT, to be honest it was so odd but I felt different immediately the day after from just seeing the new hairline, even though it was all pink and swollen!

Did you have PRP?

Hello KConK

Thanks for your kind words, I was very excited to show my result and body progress on here but I didn’t get so many comments yet. I work very hard for my appearance because I am not so young so it is more hard work than before. I did let it go after I marry and have my children I did put weight and lose my hair and I start not to care a little because I feel there was nothing I could do about it. I decide one day to be more active and because I had so little hair left I really was thinking to myself ‘what could get worse?’ so I might as well try it. I felt same as you even though I don’t have so much hair as you (you are having a lot!) I did feel much better when I saw new hair line even though I could not get so many grafts from my very thin donor area. When I felt more confident I decide to start to work on my body again and looking at my old pictures from now I look and feeling like different person and everybody is telling me same. I got more energy to play with my kids and more confidence in my personal life.

Your looking really good in your picture as well! I saw your old picture and you to looking like another person now. You looking much younger with this spike hair style ;)

Yeah I did have PRP when I had my transplant. Actually they gave to me free. When I had consultation with surgeon he said he think I would get good benefit from it. I didn’t really know anything about this because I didn’t see when I was researching. They just decide there to add it to my package with no charge. I think because my hair is thin and fine they think I would get better result with it. They were very good I enjoyed my operation I even fell asleep J It felt like holiday for me away from work and in nice hotel and such nice hospital. I was nearly going to go with another clinic but I’m glad I didn’t and gone with HTI and glad for you to your hair looking really great! How many grafts you had?

Congratulations on your whole life transformation, not just you hair!! Well done ... few have the determination and stamina to make such a body transformation as you.

You are an inspiration to those that can see once confidence is replenished you can achieve amazing things. Sometimes its a bit more hair in the front third of the hair line that gives us that confidence sometimes its just a change of attitude. Whatever it is that makes us more confident though it is worth it as is shown by how you have changed you outlook on life, your health and the people around you by being a role model.
