  1. Hi goosguardian Just thought I'd give you an update. It's been 11 months exactly since my HT with CHI and I am very glad that I did. I'm a little too shy to post my pictures right now but who knows maybe sometime in the future. You'll be in great hands at CHI, they are very professional but also a great group of people and very easy to talk to about your transplant. They don't know yet but I will definitely be going back there some time this year, probably around September (fingers crossed that I have saved enough) I plan on going for another 2500ish to the front and further back and then I'll see where I am and possibly go back again after that I started out a Norwood 6 but am slowly but surely heading for the 'appearance of hair' in my journey. Good luck and you'll be just fine! oh and by the way I don't take any meds.
  2. I don't see it that way. I think for what looks like a possible N 5/6 you couldn't expect much more from 3150 grafts. He'd need at least 6000 grafts to get the appearance of more hair than scalp up there.
  3. Actually at first I thought it was combed back in the pre op photo too but the more I looked at it I think it's combed forward in all the pictures.
  4. A definite improvement doc. Can you provide a photo with the grafts immediately after the HT + do you have 4/6 months photos, if not no problem.
  5. Hi Magpie, this community is a great resource for help with your MPB problem. I don't want to sugar coat your situation but, it looks as though over the next 10 years you'll likely to lose more hair in your crown and sides/laterals. Whichever doc you eventually choose be sure to have them take into account that you will be losing more hair, however that being said, I'm sure that with the right approach and probably a couple of procedures you'll end up with a significant cosmetic improvement. I'm guessing around 3000 plus grafts to address your hairline and midscalp to frame your face and a further 3000ish to address your crown and laterals a year or so later. I think Dr Bisanga is highly recommended here so you'll be in excellent hands, good luck!!
  6. Hey BrianR, thanx for the pic, it's much appreciated and I promise not to bust anyone else about their grammar (maybe lol), it was just me being silly
  7. Actually that's a great point to make! I use a Nexus 7 tablet to read all the posts and for some reason a lot of the posts fonts are tiny like this, and I can barely read them, so I thought I was doing ya'll a huge favour by typing like this so y'all wouldn't have to strain your eyeballs. BTW, it's forum not form.
  8. So funny you should say that. When I got my HT back at the end of Feb on my crown area, Kathryn (my hair tech) joked that I was getting a free neck lift
  9. Hey I think you should be voted up for an additional 500 grafts for showing us who's the boss with that extra etc, any docs out there wanna give BrianR a 3000 graft freebie for camera lessons!...lol, good luck with request, hope it pans out for ya.
  10. You should begin by using spell check. It would impart some degree of confidence in your potential clients. For instance, descent=/=decent, patent=/=patient, prof=/=proof and finally, once you say "etc" there's no need for two more etc's because etc covers all your bases, know what I mean? Anyhow, that's great advice and I'd love to see you get your 2500 free grafts!
  11. Very nice, considering he had no hair whatsoever on the top of his head and that his yield was approximately 6300 hairs, it framed his face nicely and I'm sure another similar size HT will serve him well. I also think if he had run a brush through his hair then the top down photo would have been more complimentary. Nice job doc.
  12. My 3000 grafts to the back of my head back at the end of Feb broke through my scalp about 2 1/2 months later and just sat there doing nothing until 2 weeks ago. So for me at 5 months the journey has only just started and from what I can see only around 50% of them are actually growing, the rest are still at the stage/growth they were at 2 1/2 months.
  13. I think for 1950 grafts your results are awesome dude! I'm really happy for you, what a confidence boost, terrific!
  14. I don't think it looks like 3/4 months, more like 6 months'ish, maybe your cycle of growing is just fully kicking in. Also it seems as though you're talking in dribs and drabs, why not post better before and after pictures, plus if you have 3500 grafts in your crown and hairline and midscalp then it seems to me that you're over estimating how much coverage your likely to get and I think by looking at your low quality picture that you probably need a bare minimum double the grafts you've got. Just my take on things with the little bit of info we have from you.
  15. I agree with xtactic5 that the rain had no effect on your hair and also that the shampoo may dry out your scalp/hair, maybe consider shampooing once every 3/4 days so the natural oils in your scalp can moisturize your scalp a little. Also at 4 months you most likely will not see any growth yet, the growth is only just begining so all you'll see is miniature hairs with the help of a magnifying mirror.
  16. I totally agree about the laterals, it really is the best and most aesthetic approach, and to 'birdness' I'll be posting pix when I feel there is something to share with the community, at this time the only way I see hairs popping through is with a magnifying mirror, most casual observers wouldn't have a clue I had an HT, also in response to your question about my surgeon, I had my transplant with Colorado Hair Institute, the surgeon that harvested my strip is Dr Searle and their 'lead' tech who made the incisions and transplanted the grafts along with a couple of other techs is Kathryn. Also I had a previous transplant with the notorious MHR 'Men's Hair Restoration' 8 years ago, 1600 grafts in the frontal third which is totally inadequate and I will be going back to CHI next year for another 3000 grafts to fill that in, maybe 2500 in the front plus another 500 in the back. BTW I'm 59
  17. I measured my crown area today and if I did it right it seems as though I have about 120 sq centimeters (NW6) with a little over 3000 grafts (it's been 4 1/2 months) I think that comes to 25 grafts per sq ctmts so we'll see what happens. Graft counts (1s 254) (2s 1043) (3s 1611) (4s 128)
  18. Wow he must be stoked! I'm at 4 1/2 months and I'm nowhere near that much growth. Matter of fact people who know me wouldn't even know I had an HT, I still look pretty much like I did before my HT, great work doc.
  19. Wow that was a fast response!, thank you .. I would classify my hair as medium, but definitely not fine at all, the other stat that my doc gave me was that I have 88 grafts per sq centimeter, does that make sense? BTW Thanx for bringing this subject up.
  20. I don't know how you calculate your ratios but here's my graft/hair breakdown, maybe you guys can calculate it for me. 1s-254 2s-1043 3s-1611 4s-128 Thanx guys!
  21. Thanx gillenator, it's reassuring to hear that. Sometimes I think I dreamed I had an HT and that it'll never really grow
  22. I'm at 4 months and have barely started growing hair but it is definitely uneven growth for me too, and as far as feeling bumps on my head I feel bumps on and off until some hair comes through. Also I still have tiny thick hair that hasn't fallen out since my transplant and hasn't grown at all yet.
  23. You look awesome at 5 months, I really hope it turns out to be all you want it to be and it sure looks like you're on target for a spectacular result.
