  1. ^^ Completely agree with what Mickey85 says there, think about it.... You have the same amount of available grafts, whatever method. You either decrease density by individually punching them out and moving them, or whether you stretch out the donor area by taking a big strip out to remove the grafts to be replaced on the top. I hope you don't tell your FUT patients that they'll have 'as much as the day they were born' in the donor area, as that would be both irresponsible and mis-guiding!
  2. GrimPelo. Answers to your comments What experience do you have in the industry? >>> Only personal research over years of suffering hair loss, waiting for a procedure that i felt would both get the results and won't leave me with an ear to ear scar. After monitoring FUE results for years, learning a lot from forums such as this one and speak to qualified surgeons (that i pressume you are not). Other experience is undergoing a FUE procedure myself. If you're a patient and had a successful FUE surgery, congratulations! >>>Thank you OR maybe you represent a doctor that only does FUE??? >> Deary me, here we go again... I don't 'represent' anyone, i work in the glamerous world of smart meters. I do however pressume that you area sales person for someone who is still pushing patients towards the strip method. Persoanally i think this is unethical, but if you can sleep at night after you have had your pockets lined, then so be it. Being part of the FUE cheerleading squad with pom poms and all can misguide other patients that might not be as good FUE candidates. >>> Simply trying to ensure that pateients don't go down the FUT route and regret it when FUE is available from many modern clinics now. A casing point here being the eyebrow post a few pages back. So to say FUE is for everyone and FUT is a thing of the past, this statement alone shows your inexperience and/or overzealous nature. Since you're not listening to me, maybe you'll listen to jotronic... >>> It is for everyone provided they have enough donor hair... if not, then FUE plus BHT is required yes. I suppose you could argue (and you probably would as your strip income seems to depend on it) that if you had no body hair and were a NW5+ then you could have to resort to FUT, but i think the numbers would be very low. You may question my 'inexperience' as much as you like, but i am merely repeating...for the benefit of the forum and the evolution of procedures and results available to future patients..what qualified surgeons have said. I'm sure they know better than you or i combined and yes, each one stated that FUT is an old process, things have moved on, most not practicing the FUT method for a number of years (see previous). There is evidence already of patients having had a few FUE surgeries whose donor area are diminished and difused. This is evidence that the ISHRS and professionals in the industry are starting to be concerned with. I'm not sharing my opinion just because it's something I think...there's actual based evidence of this occurring already. >>> Ok, just to go over this again.... anyone who has a depleted/diffused donor area should be questioning the skill of the surgeon. As with all HTs, it's about planning for the future and careful selection. If surgeons are difusing donor areas, then, as with any surgery hack...they need to be reported as a hack. We could get into a big debate about 'evidence', but if we start looking at stretched scars from FUT etc we'll be here all day. There is plenty of both positive and negative 'evidence' on this forum and others if people wish to search. p.s i am pleased Jotronic has had successful FUT procedures over the years, nice to hear some success stories.
  3. Ah, you are an industry consultant who has done thousands of consultations....that explains your answers entirely. Thanks for clarifying your position in the field. If you have patients that you are happy to advise to risk FUT, then so be it. I just believe that patients are swayed towards it far too often and regret it later. For the record, any surgeon worth his or her salt, would assess the donor area PRIOR to depleting it to ensure the diffused look is avoided. Also, decent surgeons plan for future loss, based on age, photos, how rapid the loss is and the pattern of loss. Reserve donor should then be calculated and left for future ops if required.
  4. You will not find any white dots in my donor area whatsoever. I can only presume the 'very respected surgeon' you refer to is still pushing strip procedures. It is purely an 'opinion' based on what I have read/seen over the recent years. FUT is an old technique, with less and less surgeons performing it at all these days. When I asked about FUT in Turkey, I was informed that they'd stopped doing the strip method 4yrs ago...that was 2yrs ago, so 6yrs in total. I think that suggesting anyone risk having a very large section if their scalp removed via strip method and with that, a high risk of scar stretching and discomfort, is far more irresponsible than recommending FUE with additional BHT if required.
  5. GreatPelo I'm sorry you feel it is over zealous, but I stand by it. Anyone NW5+ I would say should either have FUE is they have a healthy donor, or FUE with BHT in the crown if additional strong donor is required. Strip shouldn't be required at all these days and tbh, taking a wide strip out of a NW5+ scalp to try and maximise graft numbers will increase the risk of scar stretching even more. With regard to FUE scarring 'dots'.. I would question what size punch I'd being used, or the skill of the surgeon, if these are evident. I have zero 'white dots' after 2,800 FUE 2 years ago. Regards Rob
  6. Ah right, gottcha, you believe they are the leaders. There are plenty of other surgeons not on this forum who have been practicing FUE for years. Agreed, Lindsey, Feller etc are strip surgeons and behind the pack when it comes to FUE. I'm sure as more and more surgeons evolve into more refined FUE processes and patients avoid the old strip method more and more, they'll no doubt do more FUE.
  7. Not sure what makes them leaders Mickey, maybe you just mean leaders on this forum. Anyway, the points you've made about the procedure recommended here are correct, no surgeon of any decent standard would recommend FUT for 500 grafts of eyebrow work. Not in 2014 anyway. 2004 yes. To put it simply... FUE has moved on, anyone still doing strip hasn't.
  8. Hi, I'll drop you an email later regarding my HT experience no problem. Again, I can't comment on the others you have asked about I'm afraid. Regards Rob
  9. Hi Igor I can't mention too much about the company and that did my HT as i will get accused of 'working for the company' as normal. Anyway, in brief, the company is Health Travel International, simply google them for details. Unfortunately i can't comment on any other surgeon or hospital as i haven't used them and would not want to recommend anyone i have not used. This thread is for my experience with one clinic, please start a new thread to discuss any other surgeons, otherwise this thread will go off topic. On a seperate note/observation... It never fails to amaze me that in the 2 years since my HT, i still get many emails and replies from people who read all the info i have provided then ask about other clinics??? It bemuses me. I've painstakingly documented full details of the clinic i used to help people feel more comfortable about using a company that has provided a very positive experience where the whole process from start to finish has been captured and explained. Then this info gets overlooked in favour of an unknown clinic?!?!? For me it's like buying a BMW, having a reliable service, a great drive, no mechanical problems, no warranty claims, friendly staff and a great deal and documenting it all to help others, then having someone say "thanks for that, makes me feel better, what do you think of this Audi?". If i'd wanted the Audi, i would've researched it, bought it and given feedback on the Audi. I didn't, i bought the BMW. Not a rant folks, just an observation
  10. Excellent result, what a difference! You must be thrilled. More to come as well no doubt...
  11. Try to remain focused on your positive future and that time heals both mental and physical wounds. Your HT will be recovering just fine, but the stress of yoru breakup might be affecting things like your eating and sleeping patterns, which could affect your general health and recovery. Try and relax as much as you can, sleep when you can, eat plenty of fruit and veg and remember.... If someone wants to be with you they will, if they walk away, let them...they'll come back if they want you 110%. If not, her loss, just look forward to getting rid of the anxiety and stress you used to suffer from your hair loss prior to your HT and look forward to a 'new you' in the coming months. :-) Hope this helps. chin up
  12. Is love to stop all the accusations and mud slinging. Please proceed with the topic.. Rob
  13. No problem Jotronic, I was just trying to assist in calming your paranoia and helping keep your anxiety and anger under control, as for some reason you seem to have wound yourself up. I too have no intention of befriending you, in fact, I do my best to avoid such people in my life. I was simply trying to calm your opinion with fact. I don't need to do this as I am perfectly comfortable with my own knowledge. I just hope your 'Miss Marple' wannabe/failure mission doesn't push people towards old/expensive practices at clinics around the globe then ultimately have their happiness and health ruined by doing so. After all, this has been, and will remain to be both my goal and supposedly the goal of this forum. Though that seems to come in to question the more resistance myself and other former happy patients post, in support of non 'forum recommended' clinics. Rob
  14. Forgot to say Jotrinic... add me as a friend on Facebook and you will be ae to see all my pics and info if you are that concerned. You'll see all my work trips etc which are nothing to do with any clinic!! Must dash now, in the pub and got a busy day in the office tomorrow (not clinic) Rob
  15. I believed that my facebook pages were for my personal Facebook page??? My error if it doesn't work like that. As I said, I thought it was for my friends only, not public! So yes, if my friends wanted to know more or want help/assistance to speak to them I'd let them know where to go! You shouldn't be ae to see my Facebook page as it's restricted to my friends!! (Though not my pages it would appear!) I've just tried to delete the page but can't seem to do it from My phone. If I was promoting or working for any clinic, I wouldn't delete any details I've put up! Not that I have to justify myself to anyone, but I feel I am being chastised for something I shouldn't be. Rob
  16. Yes, input that on there for my FRIENDS, didn't realise people from the outside world would be stalking me on Facebook?!? ( note to self to lock it down). I'd forgotten I'd even Got that on there, they were called Health Travel Services back then! I copied it from their website at the time and said I'd recommend them to friends as I was pleased with my results! Seriously, you just can't help people can you!! I'll remove all that old stuff from there, tbh I'd forgotten it was on as non of my friends messaged me about it. Apologies for any confusion but seriously ?!?? I am happy with my procedure and happy to chat to people who contact me either through here or my blog site, as many do on a regular basis. If people don't like that, it's no skin off my nose, I just want to make sure people don't go to overpriced hacks who push strip procedures that's all. With regard to 'discounts' I was refering to the comment before when someone jumped on me saying on my blog site "mention me or the forum for best prices" as it was insinuated I could get people a discount. I can't! Any procedure or package details would need to be discussed with HTI themselves, nothing to do with me. Making me think I might actually contact them and ask to be paid, it'd be less hassle for me off people on here and is get some income! Rob
  17. Would it not be easier, less hassle for me if I was a paid employee of HTI, rather than having to repeatedly answer to all accusations? Yes, it would!! He fact of the matter is, I am not, so why would I say I am?? I could do, just to let you cheer with joy thinking 'I was right', say it is my clinic or whatever, but why?? I don't attack all other clinics at all, i agree, i do talk avidly against the strip procedure as I strongly believe it is unethical to still push people into having that...regardless of clinic. I have also stated that there are good results from other clinics and can only offer my quantified results based on my personal experience. With regard to shills and IP addresses and such forth, I wouldn't have a clue where to start! Doing a blog site was technical enough for me! The only 'forum violation' I can be vilified for is for not 'actively promoting' the so called 'recommended clinics' as others do on here (most of whom are paid sales reps!) I would also like to add that if I was being paid, I certain wouldn't be trying to get discounts for people!! and I would certainly be doing a lot better at promoting!! Rob
  18. Put quite simply... if I can help people get the best deal with a hair transplant then surely that is helping people get value as well as results?? I can't guarantee a discount as it's nothing to do with me what prices they give. It's like going to a car garage and saying 'I came to you because you were recommended on am owners club' or 'my friend was happy with the service and said you could do me a good price'. With regard to my fb page, yes that is my email address, as it is on my blog site, it is not a HTI address, therefore if my friends (not Facebook stalkers) are thinking about having any surgery then I would rather give a positive reference, rather than letting people go to rubbish places like Transform. Jeez, what is wrong with you people?!? Seriously, why is it so hard to offer helpful advice and pointers to people?? I don't get this when posting on trip adviser. I'll remove anything off my Facebook as I am tired of haters on the hunt. Go have a HT wherever you want, I hope you get good results. Regards Rob
  19. You are welcome. If I can help in any way regarding procedures in Turkey, just let me know, I've had a few now in Istanbul (not just hair) and all with great results Regards Rob
  20. Hi there, I don't know the full details, only what people tell me about Dr.Eser, which is that she left HTI to work on other projects and I was told, focus on other types of surgery. That said, I'm sure she would still be involved in HTs if asked. I have been made aware of someone who had a HT done by her new team since leaving HTI and she mostly supervised whilst technicians undertook the work. I just want to make sure that everyone is aware that although Dr.Eser was a fun demented part of the surgical team working on my scalp, any company she is employed with or any techniques/assistants used as of 2013 are not what I had through Health Travel international. I would hate for anyone to go to Dr.Eser thinking they are guaranteed the same service and results I had and to feel let down or have not as good results. Rob
  21. When i was looking around, i thought the same, but quickly realisted that (particularly in the UK) they would quote enough grafts to show a difference, but that would make you want (AND PAY FOR) a second, expensive procedure. The people i spoke to in Turkey gave more realistic graft figures and were just concerned with getting the best results. I ended up having 2,800 grafts and know that if i'd gone for the 1,200 grafts i'd been quoted in the UK, i would've been both dissapointed and saving up for a second run, just to get me to where i am now. There is also the fact that they often work longer hours and are often faster due to larger teams and newer techniques, so can commit to bigger numbers. Hope this helps Rob
  22. I have been informed that Dr.Eser no longer does HT's which would account for why she is no longer working for Health Travel International. That said, i have been contacted by members on here who have used the surgeons from the team at HTI and have been just as impressed as i was with my results when Dr.Eser was there (she was one of the surgeons who worked on my FUE 18 months ago). Hope this helps Rob
  23. Strip = 2003 FUE = 2013 Stick with the old, or go with the evolved. The arguments have been done to death on here.
  24. Maybe i have missed something here? Why is Antalya '2x as safe as Istanbul' I have been there twice now for 2 types of surgery and not once felt 'unsafe'. In fact, it's one of the friendliest places i have visited. Rob
  25. Please keep in mind, that lower priced HT's, especially in places like Istanbul where prices are already lower than other global regions, are usually that way because you get less of the surgeons time and are often in the hands of the assitants, or in some cases trainees. Try and go for a clinic in the region where you know you ar in the hands of the most experienced people in the team and a place that's had positive results from patients on here and other forums. You don't need to pay US/UK/ other Europe proces, but going 'bargain basement' is not worth the risk when working with your treasured follicle supplies. PM me if you need any more help. I have been out there twice now and can hopefully answer any questions you might have. Regards Rob
