Agenteye- 8 Month's Post-Op Photos- 4737 FUT transplant with Dr. Rahal

Hey Everybody!!

Hope everyone here is enjoying their Summer. It is a HOT 104 degrees here in Nevada today......ugggggh! I feel like I'm literally melting.......ugggghhhh!!

Anyway, just wanted to take a brief second to update my progress. I am currently 8 months post-op from my 4737 graft transplant with Dr. Rahal. I continue to definitely see improvement in density all the time, and couldn't be happier with my result so far......even if it stopped growing now. Knowing that I still have many more months of growth ahead is really exciting.

I am including a link to my album below. The first 6 photos were taken at 7 1/2 months......just out of the shower with my hair dripping wet! Obviously this shows the areas where my hair is still a little thin, but I am very pleased with where I am and because I don't go out with my hair soaking wet......it doesn't bother me. The rest of the photos were all taken with my hair either completely dry and no product in them, or a small amount of styling wax. The photos taken where my hair (and my beard are longer) were taken 10 days after the "fresh out of the shower photos were"....... You can see how 10 days makes a big difference....my hair grows FAST. The longer hair photos are the ones that include the styling wax.....which is why there is a bit of gloss/wet look to them.

I am thrilled to be able to actually have hair to style again. I am growing my hair SUPER LONG (two more months without cutting) so I can make a crazy faux-hawk for a festival I am attending at the end of August. So my 9 month album is going to be me with an even crazier mop of hair.

As always, the photos I've taken here were shot using my iPhone 4S. Sorry about any of them that appear to be a poor photo quality. I plan to have a second procedure done sometime next year just to add a tiny bit of density, and finish things up. My friends and family are just amazed at how good I look now. I'm excited to see what the next 6 months hold for me in terms of growth. Anyone who is considering a hair restoration procedure......it can undoubtedly be one of the best decisions you will ever make.....it was for me! Just make sure you do your research, and find a physician who you trust. Don't let price or location dictate where you have your restoration done.

Please feel free to share any questions/comments/concerns with me as always. Looking forward to posting my 9 month photos next month.....as I keep hearing this next month is a big month for density.

Thanks for reading! :D:cool:

Best,

Mike

Nice man! With the new hair and beard combo it's gonna be hard to associate your forum icon with your current results. Your friends and family have a right to be amazed. Grow follicles grow!

Question though, how long did you wait until you started lifting again? I recently tried 3 sets of elevated push-ups @ 4 months, and even that has me feeling kinda wary.

Hi NoTakeBacks-

Thanks buddy......the beard was just a temporary science project to prove that I've grown a beard at least once in my life. I left my career of almost 8 years to start nursing school in September......so since I'm not working this Summer I thought I'd give it a go!! =)

I waited around 4 months to start working out fully.....mainly because I didn't want to stretch the scar at all, and Dr. Rahal recommended I wait as long as possible. I was definitely lifting right around 4 months. I imagine by "wary" you mean that you're concerned with going back too soon, and not that lifting is causing you any physical pain?

If you're just concerned with going back too soon strictly for the scar....I think you've certainly waited long enough. I was lifting and working out fully again by 4 months. However, if you're experiencing any pain from the exertion of working out....I would certainly contact your physician to discuss!

Hope that helps buddy! =)

Best,

Mike

Be careful. I did a very similar thing, quit my job, went back to school and grew a beard, and it has been about 3 years since I have shaved my face . Although mine wasn't really an "experiment", I had always wanted a beard and I hate shaving just about more than anything else in life, so there is a good possibility that you may be successful at returning from the dark side unlike me.

Hahahaha, well.....truth be told, I'm starting to become attached to the facial hair. Although it's really long and unkempt right now.....when I trim it back neat and tidy...I love it!!! I'm getting hit on a lot more with the beard!! Go figure?!! Leave it to a beard to land me some dates. =) I can see why you kept it around........

Thanks buddy. I had about 2900 grafts in the front and another 1800 in the crown. I am definitely going up all the time in my satisfaction, especially as things continue to thicken. Satisfaction is currently 8/10!!

Man, the hair looks KILLER. Congrats! I am sure you are very happy. You can have a beard as a nurse, so that is good too.'

I have seen people ask you but I haven't noticed an answer. In what capacity do you represent Dr. Rahal?

The only phrase I can think of right now is "mind-blowing'. lol

Mike seriously though, what a transformation. Your hair is looking awesome man. Taco's comparison just sums it up. There has been a real noticeable thickening again just in the last month. If you're still considering another procedure I really don't know where the new hairs are gonna go.
