  1. I can't believe your doc let you smoke during the HT. This is the first time i heard about it. One thing for sure, smoking does not help with the healing or growth of the grafts. To what extent, hard to say, but I don't think you should freak out about this since you are a light smoker anyway.
  2. The temples are not clearly shown, but I don't think you need an HT at this time. Try medication (Propecia) to keep the hair that you have.
  3. Why even bother with 2 x 2cm2 zones? I did not see your pic, but it is likely that you don't need an HT.
  4. Like dr. Lindsey said, non only you should not put anything on the scar until the sutures are out (risk of infection), I suggest not to anything at all. There is not a single product out there proven to help with the scar, either to speed up healing or reduce scar stretch. Just time can help with the healing.
  5. While it is true that any bozo can post and that HTN is not perfect, this community as a whole can usually sort out the good from the bad doctors at the end. Frankly, i don't see your point of asking for opinion and then attacking or disregarding the opinion of other members who took the time to answer you and who tried to be helpful, because they gave you an opinion that is different from what you thought. It is your head, do whatever you want with it, I have enough of this thread.
  6. If this PRP process works, i would assume that it is not permanent since the miniaturization process will not stop. Therefore, continuous injection of PRP will likely be required. I agree with Bill, the pics are not convincing. On a separate note, i did have PRP incorporated in my HT but in a different process. The grafts were bathed in PRP solution before being implanted. The PRP was also injected in the donor and the recipient site, with the purpose of helping to speed up healing. The rational is that the faster the healing, the higher the potential yield. An analysis of PRP from Dr. Cooley can be found here: http://hair-restoration-info.c...?r=52810352#52810352
  7. I can't add much more than what the others already said, apart from the fact that your coat and pant (on the pics) are way too big for you. You may want to get a size or two smaller so your muscles are better defined Good luck, and i hope you will be able to handle 4 weeks of staples. 2 weeks of stitches for me was already plenty.
  8. I also agree that you should go with the strip route even if it just for 1000 grafts. I am sure dr. Rahal can give you some sound recommendations.
  9. deviansaliva: stage 2 (norwood 2) does not sound so bad please post some pics so we can assess and provide opinion. i also agree that you should try medication first, try proscar preferably since it is the same as propecia but cheaper.
  10. Really depends on size of procedure. The larger the session, the tighter is the scar, thus more pain will likely last longer. 7-10 days seems to be the average. As for me, no pain the next day, but i had only 2000 grafts.
  11. Thanks JohnK for sharing your results. All that matters is that you are satisfied with your first procedure.
  12. JohnK: Thanks for clarifying the procedure date error. Again, it would be nice if you post some pictures, in a separate post preferably. Thanks.
  13. Enough suspense Bill, just give us the count There are many people in your audience who participated and who are waiting for the # of grafts. Glad that the surgery went well for you so far.
  14. Nice result so far, especially for only 5 month. You must be thrilled as more to come.
  15. I also agree Eman's result is one of the best/fastest out there. It is also one of the best documented. That being said, if a patient is following Eman's progress and is not getting the same result, don't be too disappointed as everybody is different. Growth just vary. Just be happy for him since he gave so much for this forum.
  16. I use at needle also and gently squeeze it. This is sometimes the best way to reduce the tension/infection/abscess immediately. The point is to be very gentle and squeeze not to hard as it may create a scar. Even if the pus is not removed, the small hole created by the needle will leave an opening for the pus or hair to get out.
  17. Dr. Cooley posted a result of a patient with wavy hair, and the transplanted hairs are following the same wave pattern of the native hair. Pretty amazing. So yes, as you mentioned, it will probably blend in.
  18. Dalew: Great perspective. Obviously it does not work now, but it is always nice for researchers to be open minded about possible options. BTW, i had PRP (my own) mixed with my grafts before they are implanted. I also had the PRP injected in my recipient site and donor. This was performed by dr. Cooley with the objective of speed up healing and increase yield. So far, i can say that my healing process was very quick. What is left to access is the growth yield, which i will be able to assess at my one year mark.
  19. Mr. GQ: some fishes might bite... Actually IMO, a natural hairline needs temple closure, like Rahal, Armani, Cooley, Shapiro etc are offering. This strategy is a bit risky since hairs behind the temple point may be lost later, and the look may be very funny. Dannyskywalker, a Rahal's patient is now having some doubt or concern because the hair is starting to thin out behind the temple point. Hairline from H&W or Feller is more conservative as it does not have temple closure, but does not look as nice or natural. Same for Armani's hairline, where the wall of hairs also look unnatural.
  20. Dr. Epstein: It only proves that he has a positive experience during the surgery, that is all. What really counts is the result. That is why it always makes me laugh when a patient praising a doctor based on his bedside manner, which is really irrelevant. This is very nice of you offering a free procedure. Hopefully the second time will be better for him. Perhaps, this is where the problem lies...too many procedures for you to supervise properly. I hope you don't base your clients satisfaction on 5 posters who complained. For each poster who complains, I can assure you there are probably at least 10, maybe even 20 silent unsatisfied patients, who either are too busy, too shy, or resigned to the fact that they got a sub-par result. Your competence or the personal care you offer to your patients is never in doubt. After all, you delivered some amazing results in the past. What some posters here are questioning is why there are the occasional sub-par results lately.
  21. Some people actually look better shaven like some blacks. Travolta also look better shaven. Try it, you may like it. In my case, i did not bother with shaving as my hair loss was not extensive (NW3). And I know I don't look good without hair.
