  1. Anybody here uses Rogaine (either liquid of foam) all over their head? instead of using it only on Crown? How is it working?
  2. John in NC - I think you're mistaken. My total is 5000 grafts. First procedure was 1500 grafts, 2nd was 3500 grafts. Out of that I had 2200 grafts put in crown which was real thin. I had about 800 put in hairline and about 2000 in 2/3 of the scalp. KG
  3. Hey what's going on guys?? It's been awhile since I have posted. Actually I have been very busy at my new job, and I barely get any chance to hang around here. I hope all you guys are doing well. I just uploaded my 8 month post-op HT2 pictures. So far so good, but I am little disappointed as I had higher expectations. My hair feels very lifeless, flat and thin. I am still not very happy with my crown. Although I have already invested about 2200 grafts, I still feel the need to add more to fill in the crown. What's your take on that? Also, I am thinking about making a switch from Propecia to Avodart. I know lot of you have started taking the Avodart in past few months, how's the experience? Is it working better/worse? KG
  4. I don't know how much is your hair loss in terms of cm2, but don't just go by the # 2000. Determine # of grafts based on your hairloss. If you have 80-100 cm2 area to cover, 2000 grafts won't do much. You will, at the end, will be unsatisfied because of lack of density. So if you decide to do it, do it right the first time so you don't have to make multiple trips. If you can post pictures, maybe we can help you figure out how many grafts will be good. KG
  5. I think Brando was a good candidate at such a young age because his hairloss very limited only to temple areas, but if you're somebody with more severe hairloss, it might not be a good idead to do HT that young. Also if you're 24, you can't think about HT until you're on propecia for atleast a year. Because you want to hold your hairloss pattern before you get into HT, because HT can cause shockloss on existing hair. But if you're on propecia, it might help you minimize the shockloss. I had my first procedure at 23.5 and 2nd procedure at 24.5. You can find my pictures on this forum. Actually, I have my 6 month update pictures due. I'll most likely post them by Monday. KG
  6. Jagdish - Thanks for the video. Hang in there for atleast 3-4 more months before going in for 2nd procedure. I think 2000 grafts will be plenty. Front area that needs to be covered is about 65 cm2, and 30 grafts/cm2 will give you strong frontal 1/3 with very strong hairline. KG
  7. My crown work took good 8 months before I saw some thickness in new hair.
  8. Dr. E is definitely one of the best out there. I know he works on lot of people who lost hair for reasons other than MPB. He's a great human being.
  9. I am happy for you man!! I know that's shallow, but we're all like that, so it's all good.
  10. I agree that $4.50 is standard, but if you're considering a 'mega'session, then the cost should come down to 3.25-3.75/graft depending how many grafts you are getting. KG
  11. I know what you mean guys. I have done it all. I have used minox for 2 years. It worked wonders for me, but I hated the daily applications. I knew I wasn't going to be committed to it for the rest of my life. So I stopped after 2 yrs, and it made me look lot worse than before started using it. I lost tons of new hair and made my bald spot wider. I am switching to Proscar just to save some money. KG
  12. After my 1st procedure, I saw best results at around 8 months. Now I don't know if that means I was a slow bloomer or since the procedure was done on crown and crown seems to be coming in slow. Just hang in there for another couple of months. KG
  13. My buddy takes all sorts of things to build muscles (protein, creatine and lot of other crazy stuff). He's been doing it for like past 5 years, and his hair is as good as it gets. On the other hand, when I started taking it I think started losing hair. I am not sure if these body building products caused my hair to thin, or it was genetic disorder that caused it since my dad and all males in his family lost hair in 20s. My beliefe is, if you don't have MPB in your genes, then nothing like supplements, work out, stress, diet will affect your hair. But if you have MPB in your genes, everything(stress, diet, supplements, sleep) will cause you to accelerate your hairloss. KG
  14. Worried - I know what you're talking about, but I think you can make a deal with your doctor and lower the total charges. $4.50/grafts seems way too expensive.
  15. It looks little thin, but I think it's mainly because of heavy flash. Dr. Hasson will fix you up good. Make sure you do scalp exercises for several months before the procedure so you can get maximum grafts.
  16. Hang in there buddy.. I am also little bummed out with my progress so far. But you know what, there's nothing we can do but wait. Post some pictures when you get a chance so we can see what you're talking about. KG
  17. Jagdish - Man I feel for you!! It sucks that your marriage was called off because of that, but maybe you should have told them about your HT instead of them finding out when they walked in your house.. But for the better or worse, it doesn't sound like you're upset over it (or maybe I am wrong). But you gotto go on and move on with your life. Everything happens for a reason. Oh about the video... It looks good man!!! LOL.. what lauguage is that song in? Once it's complete, you should send it to yr ex's family! KG
  18. yupp... I agree. If I use L'rear Vive everyday, i would go bald in couple of weeks as I lose a lot of hair due to dryness. Therefore, i only use it on special ocasions like when i go out over the weekends. In weekdays I use Nizoral and Johnson's baby shampoo. kg
  19. Dr. A in Michigan is one of the best, but he is very covservative in terms of number of grafts per session and also his pricing is little bit higher that most. KG
  20. Hairbank - I have used dermmatch in the past. Although it works wonders, it is very obvious in certain lights. I had the same problem, sometimes I had the chalky look sometimes I didn't. Anyway, now I use Toppik once in a while and it works great. Very undetectable once you master the application, and it takes less than 30 seconds compare to Dermmatch where you have to wait to let it try and all the headache. All I do is, after shower I let me hair dry completely, and then sprinkle is on my hair evernly and then apply hair spray on it. While hair spray is still wet, I rub on my hair/scalp with finger tips so all the little fibers stick to my hair/scalp and creates a natural look. Once it's all dry and good, I apply hair spray again and style in any way I want. After you're done, anybody can run their hands through your hair, and won't detect a thing. Works great!
  21. Hello Hairbank - I am in same boat as you are. I have also been playing around with different styling products, but so I haven't found anything that really works. I'll give it a shot to surf hair. Although, L'real vive for men works great for me. It adds lot of density, but at the same it makes my hair dry and brutal. KG
  22. Any of you switched from Propecia to Proscar? I have been on propecia for 5 years, and now I am making a switch to proscar to save money. I am just curious if anybody had done same, and how was the experience. I understand that it has same ingredient, but I am still concerned before I make the switch since I am in middle of hair growing from my HT 5 months ago. KG

  24. Once I was in a serious relationship with a girl I really loved. We were so much in love with each other that we even talked marriage. All the sudden, I started losing hair and she broke up with me. Most girls look for guys with good hair.
