  1. Yeah Kevin James (Doug) hair look amazing now. If you guys have been watching the older seasons of his show, his hair was really thin just like mine, and then couple of year later he's got spikes. His doc did really good job with the density. But I don't like the temples work on him. But overall it looks amazing.
  2. I am not going to take any sides here because many of you have already expressed your opinions and they are not any different from mine, but I do want to bring up one thing. Why is everybody after Dr. Williams now??? (believe me I don't support of his poor results at all), but I am just curious. Because other docs have produced equally horrible (or even worse) results in the past. If anybody who has been reading this forum for past 6 months to 1 year, you would remember that there were two separate cases of patients who received really bad results, and their doctors were Dr. Epstein and Dr. DeYarman. At the time few people showed sympothy to the patients, but nobody pointed any fingers at the docs. Everybody's opinion was the patient was not a good candidate for HT. I thought I would bring it up just to see if anybody remembers.
  3. Has anybody used DerMatch in the donor site to hide the shockloss around the donor line?? any comments??
  4. Thanks for the replies guys. I am not using Dermmatch on the recepient site, I am using it only on donor area where shockloss is obvious.
  5. I have seen the picture that Brando is talking about where he's kissing his wife. He's got bald spot on crown. I am not sure how thin his hair is in the front, but if you have seen broken arrow, you will get pretty good idea of the front where he's hiding thinning using lot of make up, and in every scene they avoid throwing light on this face/hair.
  6. I just noticed that I have suffered enough shockloss around the donor area, that you can actually notice it. Has anyone experienced shockloss around the donor site after the HT? If so, what did you do about it? Did the lost hair came back? after how long? Sorry about too many questions.
  7. Hello Everyone - Has anyone tried using Dermmatch in donor area after post-op? I am 2 weeks post-op, and I have slight shockloss on the donor site (specially on the left side), and since my hair is cut to # 4 buzz, it shows. Has anyone tried Dermmatch post-op to hide the donor line? I want to use it so it doesn't show when i goto work. Does anybody have any experience with that? Thanks. KG

  9. Hey guys - Finally my staples came out couple of days ago. I really hated staples, specially last few days before they came out. It was so annoying, I was starting to regret it. But once they came out of my head, it was the best feeling. Actually I think it bothered me more than it normally does, because one of the staples was not full inserted. I think it was fully inserted at the time of surgery, but then one of two sides of this staple came out. This staple was right in the center of the donor line, so everytime I tried falling a sleep or something touched it, it hurt so much!!! But now that they're out of my head and I am almost 2 weeks post-op, I say the staples is a way to go because my scar is so thin and undetectable that I can't believe it. First time I had sutures and it left a really thin scar, but I always had this bump that you could feel if you run your fingers thru the donor, but now with the staples it's amazing. I wonder what it would like 3-6 months from now. Also I have absolutely no numbness or tightness in the donor area (compared to numbness that I felt after the 1st procedure which lasted for like 6 months). I think this is due to the scalp exercise that I did for 3-4 months prior to the procedure.
  10. Looking good Gorpy. Actually I was just going to ask you for the update on your situation. Looks good so far. Give it couple of more months and you'll be done with the whole HT scenerio... (Unless you get greedy :-))
  11. Hairworthy - It's looking good. Dr. E has does a nice job with the hairline and also filling in the top/middle scalp. Although I have one question for you. Most people go back to the same doctor after 1st successful procedure. Your final results from HT1 by Dr. H looks amazing, then why did you decide to goto Dr. E this time? KG
  12. It's a good debate if the doc should put the grafts in the hairline himself, but I am not going to get into that. But not all docs put grafts themselves, there're only few docs who prefer to put graft themselves. I personally believe that if Doc were to put the grafts himself, crown is as important as the hairline because crown is much more complex than the hairline. You need atlease 40-45 grafts/cm2 to avoid the see-thru look. And the area that needs to be covered is about 100 sq cm. So you would need roughly about 4000 grafts to get the density you're looking for. And since you already got 1000 grafts, I say another 3000 grafts will do it. If you get it done in US, it will cost you about $3.50-4.00/graft. If money is going to be an issue, then best thing to do is keep doing your research to find a really qualified doc in India, because that will save you tons of money.
  13. Embarrassed1 - We feel your pain. You can take any necessary actions that will make you feel better to get back with your doc, but you should definitely look forward with positive attitude as your situation is not as bad as many other horrible horrible results we have seen. You have very limited hairloss, and it can be fixed in no time. Do some research here and make better decision next time. And yes Dr. Cole performs FUE that will solve your problem. With a limited hairloss like yours, I would prefer FUE any day. 1500-2000 FUEs will give you hairline that you always wanted without going thru much pain. Couple of other docs who perform great FUE are Dr. Paul Rose (FL) and Dr. Alan Feller (NY). Give them a call and set up a cosultation. Good luck.
  14. I see the 9 member docs from India on ISHRS. Just to let you know, just because doc is member of ISHRS it does not mean he/she does quality work. I was just browsing through the list of member docs on ISHRS, and I saw names of docs who work for Bosley/MHR who are known to do the worst HT we've ever seen. If this membership is so easy to get like Pat mentioned, docs might just get the membership to use it as another weapon to lure in more patients. So be careful. It might be very difficult for you to find a doc in India who does quality work with each and every patient. I think the best thing to do would be to get the consultation with the doc listed on ISHRS, and ask them to see the actual patients. But I think if you have funds and resources available, you should look to go outside of India for HT, because even all the celebrities from India go abroad for HTs. You have lot of time before your next procedure, do your research.
  15. Pat, thanks for your input. I was not aware of what you mentioned about Dr. A in your post. My recommendation is based on what I have seen and read about Dr. A. There was a fellow on this forum who posts every now and then, who had multiple procedures with Dr. A and received total of 7500 grafts. His results looked great with very natural hairline. Here's the link to another success story of Dr. A -- http://www.hairlosshelp.com/websites/Dens1/ Jagdish, this guy has similar hair loss patern as yours. It never hurts to get a free consultation, but I would wait atleast 4-5 months before doing so to see some results from your first HT. Also, like Gorpy said, it does not seem like 3500 grafts. Your grafts are placed too far apart so don't expect great density. From what I have roughly counted, you have about 1000 grafts in 100 sq cm area, which is about 10 grafts/cm2. That's not gonna do you any good, you will still be looking very thin. Sorry, I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but you should know what to expect. Are you sure your doc didn't mean 3500 hairs (not grafts), because it seems like he might have used some big grafts in the back - totaling 3500 hair for 1000 grafts. Anyway, you should confirm again with your doc. Tell him you counted the grafts, and it doesn't seem like more than 1000 grafts. See what he has to say.
  16. If your doc says he performed FUT, then I guess would believe that, but it definitely does not look like 3500 grafts ~ correct me guys if I am wrong. To me, it seems like your doc knows what he's talking about, so I don't think you should be worried. Finasteride 1 MG is same as Propecia/Proscar. Most people who take it everyday do not lose more hair. 87% of the people who take it stablize their hairloss, some even notice some new growth. Most people on this forum take this drug. As long as you're on it, you will keep your remaining hair. Once you stop, you will lose the benefits of the drug and continue hair loss progression. Ger Proscar (which is 5MG Finax) asap, and cut the pill into 4 pieces (1.25 MG each), that will save you lot of money.
  17. Jagdish - I wouldn't worry about it rightnow. The placement of grafts does not look too bad. Atleast your doc has not used big grafts in hairline. Even if he did put big grafts in the back, it would not be as much noticable. So don't sweat it yet. From the pic you provided, it seems like you still had some hair in the front before going in for the procedure. I would recommend you immidiatly get on Propecia/Proscar as soon as possible, because it helps minimize the shockloss. Whenever you get a HT in an area with already good native hair, there's always a good possibility of losing some of that native hair from shockloss (sometimes permanently). Propecia also helps stablize future hairloss. Also, there's a doc AP in Delhi, who's frequently talked about on this forum. You might wanna check him out. If you're in Delhi in near future, you can get a consultation with him. He seems to be doing good quality work.
  18. This guy was getting his HT with Dr. Hasson on the same day I was getting mine with Dr. Wong. He ended up getting 7000+ grafts (second highest for Dr. H). His procedure lasted until 11 PM. His donor strip was 35 cm x 2.5 cm.
  19. I think what Hairbank meant what that his grafts started coming in a month after he stopped noticing shock loss, meaning he started seeing growth around 2.5-3 months post op.
  20. Jagdish - Not to worry!! If it's 1-2 hairs in the hairline, it's not gonna look unnatural. The reason I asked you the grafts size (number of hairs/graft) is because your scabs look really big so I was concerned if you doc used punch/mini grafts method which was the norm a decade ago. But if your graft size does not exceed 4 hairs, you are okay. Do you have any before picturs you can share? Also how many total grafts did you get?
  21. These staples are bitches!!!! I am having such a hard time... It's really painful sometimes... I tell you sutures are way better!!
  22. I normally don't sleep on my stomach, I only do so rightnow because of the procedure. Sleeping on side really hurts my head due to staples in my head. Rightnow the most confortable position for me is on my stomach, everything else puts too much pressure on tender donor area. And that's why I haven't been sleeping too well for past few days. But my main concern is that for past two days, I have been sleeping on my stomach and I felt pressure on top of my head(transplanted area) when i woke up in the morning. Should I be worried about it? I didn't see any grafts come out, but does the pressure on grafts have any negative effect on growth?
  23. Looking good my friend. Give it couple of more months, front should thicken up some more.
  24. Thanks guys. I am not really worried about the Swelling, because I didn't experience much of it. I had some in donor area for couple of days. But what I am concerned about is that since I sleep on my stomach with my face resting on my hand, I sometimes get this weird pressure feeling in my crown (where I got some transplants). so I get up, and that pressure goes away in 10 minutes or so. Do you guys know what I am talking about? My donor is still tender, so I can understand the aching and everything, but what about the pressure that I feel on top of my head (transplanted areas) when I wake up in the morning?? Do you guys experience that?? should I do anything different???
  25. No I did not use Minox post-op because I hate using it. I have used it in the past and I can't see myself getting hooked to it for the rest of my life. Therefore, I didn't even bother to use it post-op (for faster growth). I was too afraid that if I use it post-op, my native hairs might become dependable on Minox and would have negative impact once I stop using it. But from what I hear, your growth should come in couple of months earlier if you apply it post op on receipint areas.
