I don't recommend Finasteride, unless the person hates himself and is into masochism, or are willing to take the risk of developing serious illness.
As I wrote before, a combination of aerobic(jogging, hiking, slow bicycle ride, mid-weight lifting) and anaerobic(sprint, martial arts fight, rowing, military training, etc.) exercise is the key, only one will not be as effective. Heavy weight lifting is not OK by itself, but perhaps adding sprint to the daily routing will compensate.
