  1. She obviously did make a poor choice of wording and I am sure that this is not what she meant. It does however make it look somewhat negative towards those that charge per graft, which is ofcourse the most common method. I am certain that Dr. Griffin does good work and has his patients best interests in mind. Personally, I like the idea of charging per graft and believe charging by the session size is a little odd. We all know of several examples of good docs that produce more grafts that they don't charge for. I believe that that was the case with myself for example.(the day was a blurr)
  2. Looks like it was a little rough going but you were in good hands and just a matter of time and you should be golden. Keep us all posted.
  3. Sadhairloss, Yes I am about due to post some new photos. In approx. a week I will hit the 6 month mark. I'll try to get my wife to post a few better photos. I am curious what you guys have to say about things. I personally believe that things are better but not drastically. I would like to know what the consensus is.
  4. Yg24, This is a great time for you. Shave your head and get the hairloss off your mind. Do you know how jealous I am of friends that look great with shaved heads. They NEVER have to worry about a bad hair day. They throw on a hat and when off they look the same. There is freedom for them. Please don't consider a HT if you believe that it is something you will worry about in future. If 24 and already a NW5 with limited donor I would not recommend it. Enjoy life my friend. Trust me, there will be a day when your hair is not the priority that it seems to be now. Good luck with things.
  5. Actually gentleman, this topic has had a lot of previous hot discussions. I'm sure Bill will be able to provide the link to the old threads. It is certainly a reality and this is why we are so cautious about recommending a HT to someone in their 20's. Even at older ages there is always a chance that this could happen. I personally believe that unless there is some new drug or technology, we might start seeing many guys with big scars in donor. The statement of HT's being forever isn't necessarily always accurate. Even those that don't progress in that manner do tend to thin considerably. How many 70+ men do you know that have thick donor? This stuff does have risks that are both immediate and long term.
  6. Bill, This is still kind of strange isn't it? Does he set a price for a session that he deems very large? Does that imply that person A might pay $10,000 for 2100Fu and person B pays $10,000 for 3000fu? Do I understand this correctly or am I missing the boat?
  7. Classic line--Janna this is sensored so move on.
  8. Ah Domie.... Almost as pretty to see as one of NG2GB's pictures of Jessica Alba. He might be my alltime favorite makeover. Incredible transformation. Yes, I agree with you about this hairline design.
  9. Kumar, You have been a member for 2 years and you only have 5 posts? Damn you certainly are the silent type. As pushing40 stated, if you are over 30 I would agree that you likely are a good candidate. Depending on your goals ofcourse, if you were looking to achieve a full coverage scenario with some decent density I would think that you need 4000+ Fu.(crown would be sparse)
  10. Fallenstar, Looking great for 3 months. This will only get better for you. Enjoy the journey.
  11. You will be dynamite soon. Give it another 4 months. Hair does look healthier and fuller already.
  12. I will ditto NoBuzz's response. It is enlightening to see a doc display such work. Certainly it is easy to post NW2 pics with a dense packing session, but the true artistry and creativity is seen on the NW6-7.
  13. Aviran, Be very cautious of lowering your hairline. If you are already concerned about less density it will only be more of a problem if you go lower. I would keep current hairline and just add more grafts to give you more density. Also, Dr. Wong is known as the master at crown work. There is no better.
  14. This is certainly one topic that Mrjb and I agree on. Another great inexpensive shampoo is shen min--Vitalize. It is a great daily shampoo with nothing to harm or add to hair.
  15. Ttds, Gathering from all of your recent posts, you are definitely in the doubting stage. Hang in there and give it a year then we both can compare notes as I am roughly at the same stage as you.
  16. Louti, Damn... How can people have that type of growth at 6 months? Sense any jealousy? Things look great. You should be one happy camper.
  17. The results look very good and natural. Would ofcourse like to see a top down picture to know what realestate was transplanted. I would have to assume about 50cm2 judging from result?
  18. Genesis, The results are awesome as to be expected from Dr. Rahal. Truly refined and clean. I did notice in your blog that you stated that you had to somewhat twist the docs arm to give you the desired hairline. Obviously from that statement it was not his first choice for you. I hope that it will prove prudent to go against his initial instincts. I personally always like the idea of erroring on the conservative side as you can always lower in future. I hope that at 27 you have hairloss permanently stabalized. Dr. Rahal has the abilities of Dr. Armani and can definitely produce superior results but it is challenging to foresee the future. Best of luck with everything.
  19. Ttds, I am almost at 6 months and I can certainly understand what you are saying. At 3 months I was stoked about seeing hair and truthfully not much has changed since then. I know enough to not get my skivies in a bunch until after 12 months. Hang in there and hopefully things will start to really take off. One thing that I am feeling more and more though is that I have a feeling that it sometimes takes more than 2500 in the frontal area to give a look and feel of density. Ofcourse everyone is different, but it seems like the 3200+ sessions are the most eye catching. Only time will tell.
  20. This is an exceptional looking HT, but ofcourse we have no closeups of the hairline. I agree with Stevo that this individual didn't need any work but I guess what better candidate for this type of transplant. There is no worry of much future loss and if he can do it and wants it why not? Newbies take note as to how many grafts were required to achieve these results in a relatively small area.
  21. What's the old saying "If you have nothing good to say..." Unfortunately, I have to speak up on this thread. The discoloration appears to be dried blood. Just a matter of time and this should resolve. The bummer is that the HT itself has been done with antiquated technique and lack of any artistry. Very likely it will produce hair, but the natural look is going to be at question. Probably going to need another procedure in future. I feel very sad having to say this.
  22. Although I agree with Bill that his list of doctors are very skilled, H&W are demonstrating superior talent. Don't ever be afraid to travel. You will live with the results on display for everyone.
  23. The 2 cases are in deed somewhat different. What bothers me more is the planning and technique in general. It saddens me that physicians are still performing HT's such as this. I hope that things work out as best as possible for Charlie.
  24. Behappy that it is working so well for you and keep it up. Let us know how things progress.
