1. Ya if you can pull it off go for it. This is a cool look and will save you a lot of cash and maintenance free.
2. NG2GB, I'm going to limit what I post on this topic because the truth is I'm not an expert on the topic and have only read things about it a couple of times. I can only hazard a guess of such things as decreased vascularization for some reason or possibly infection. From what I understand, you might be as likely to be struck by lightning while in the chair getting your procedure. We need to change your name to nervousnelly II
3. NG2GB, As others have mentioned prior, the reason for poor yield is typically from mishandling of the grafts. This may happen in the slivering, storing, placement or whatever. Possibly the tech was on a bender for a couple of days with Thana? Maybe the solution accidentally got some of her contact solution or Jack Daniels in it? Who knows? At a reputable clinic this is likely to almost never ever happen. The other scenario is that for whatever reason the body rejects the grafts. This is a strange phenomenon and again is likely to not happen. Could it? Possibly. Very, very, rare.
4. Go to shenmin.com It is a great shampoo that has MSM and olive oil, Rosemary and many others. Designed to help thicken hair but NOT grow hair or slow hairloss. It is very cleansing and feels therapeutic.
5. Rambler, I agree with you but feel that they should pay for whatever number of grafts it will take to make things look cosmetically perfect. Are they offering 500 because this won't cost them much and will hide things? Hell they need to rectify this problem and I personally believe that it will take more than 500fu.
6. Hey guys, Not sure why no one else has ever given it a try but several times in the past I have made reference of a Shampoo called Vitalize. It is a shen min product. NO I don't believe it will regrow hair but it is designed to help thicken hair. Give it a try. It is cheap! $10-12 bottle. Makes your scalp tingle and hair feels soft, clean.
7. I think that Mrjb secretely was using a laser comb.
8. As far as I know--Yes (possibly not 10%-but not good). However, they are no longer Coalition physicians. Hey everyone--this is surgery. There is always a slight risk of things not being perfect. Does it suck? Ofcourse, but unfortunately there are things that are out of the control of the doctor. Seeing too many problems is when a red flag goes up. Would I have still had a HT if I knew that 1% got a yield of 10% and 99% got a yield of 98%. YUP!! I would roll the dice that I wasn't the unfortunate sap.
9. Steve, Normal to worry--I also did about my scar. You'll be good. I personally believe what you are seeing is possibly still a little bit of swelling along the incision, combined with redness giving it a wider presentation. I was told by Dr. Shapiro that all would change after time and sure enough my scar is already looking much much better at 5 months. Relax man. All will be good.
10. As long as the light emitted is red I'll buy it from you Nobuzz. The red ones work best.
11. I just wanted to state that when I make reference to Armani, I am referencing the man himself and not the corporation. I personally don't believe that his staff of doctors are anywhere as talented as he is. It is possible to train others to master the technical side of things but the artistic capabilities are his alone.
12. Josh-b, Essentially you're right on in your assessment but it does still take a lot of talent to dense pack and transition into natural hair. Although his ethics are certainly questionable, his talent is world class. Too bad really.
13. Revita is a great shampoo. I started to use after glowing reviews from Mrjb. The only issue I have is that it is very expensive for such a little amount.
14. It really doesn't take much. 1/2 cap is adequate.
15. Armani's big mistake in my opinion was when he decided to only do Fue. Ofcourse he likely is making more money but his strip procedures were world class and likely some of the best I have ever seen. I believe that he will suffer some major setbacks when the Fue procedures aren't living up to the claims.
16. Niti, These photos do look a lot better than the original posted. This intrigues me somewhat as the original pics definitely had that stadium seating sort of look. Possibly there is a new technique that is being used that increases the density or something. Did Dr. Martinique do your HT?
17. I would consider Feller. Cole is very skilled but not too sure of his ethics. I would love to recommend Dr. Rose as I know that he is skilled and have heard great things, but in all honesty haven't seen much work posted. Thats too bad.
18. Tough question to answer. I am going to say that typically you are looking at approx. 3-4 weeks to be at a stage where most things will look OK. Ofcourse there are several variables that could change this but for the most part this is about right.
19. I'm not going to be able to quickly reference different threads but there are a few posters on here that have hair combed down and they look quite good. Moreover, guys like Bobman and Bushy have adopted different styles. Usually a person will need several FU for added density to be able to adopt differing hairstyles. If I had to guess, most people that are NW5+ need about 4000 or more Fu with a conservative hairline for the ability to vary hairstyles. Ofcourse that is not an accurate statement but just a rough ballpark.
20. John, I'm at 5 months and have similar growth as you do. In fact I have not really noticed much of a difference since month 3. I know that for both of us things will be starting to kick into gear soon. I think that things will be awesome for you. I like the hairline chosen and the density should be pretty good for that area. Keep us posted.
21. Thana, Looks great buddy. Should have you looking like a million in a years time. I would put you at a NW4 and likely the density will be approx. 43fu\cm2 assuming that the recipient area is around 70cm2. With your hair characteristics this should work out nicely. Keep us posted on your progress and congratulations on a great physician selection.
22. Lucky, I really like the work. Very clean and refined. I personally believe that the hairline chosen with your native hair should work out well for you. The addition of the temporal angle adds a lot also. Only time will tell as far as illusion of density however 2300 Fu is fairly decent with a conservative hairline and existing native hair. Take the time for healing.
23. Oops. My bad. Yes, I believe that they shaved your recipient area therefore it looks worse. Keep in mind that there may be some shockloss as Bill mentioned.
24. This is a great discussion and ofcourse I have an opinion on the topic but I just want to say that I strongly agree with most of what Bspot has stated. I also want to reiterate what Bill said about not blindly trusting and doing a lot of research. We all need to be held accountable for our decisions so therefore educate yourself thoroughly prior to any serious decision.
25. Poobah, Firstly we need before pics before we can fully assess the number of grafts. Also, you are aware that the grafts will fall out shortly correct? I hope your doc fully explained things to you. I personally think that things look pretty darn good. Hopefully you have somewhat realistic expectations of what can be achieved. The truth of the matter is that 1600 grafts is just an average size session. Give things time.
