  1. Hi guys , this week i finally got round to having my crown treated by Dr Hakan in Antalya , Turkey. Now clearly i will have to wait for the end results before making any clear judgement on the treatment but what i can talk about is the service i recieved. I landed late on Monday at the Airport to be met by the multi talented Didem who is a diamond , nothing is too much trouble and her English is great . I was taken to the private OFM Hospital in Antalya where i was shown to my room and a large bag of water and things to eat was given to me by one of Hakan's staff (keep in mind this was late at night there). The room was clean and tidy with a modern feel , walk in bathroom and wall mounted flat screen with two English channels as well as Turkish TV.....internet not so good!. I was woken early next morning to give blood before my operation followed by a light breakfast supplied by the Hospital , time soon flew and it was time to meet Dr Hakan to go through what would happen during the Operation . Didem was once again involved in the process and helping the translating between Dr Hakan and I. He speaks broken English but seemed a nice bloke , he uses his English at the correct vital times to put it one way. Once all was decided i headed off to have a strip shaved down on my head for which the grafts would be removed by manual punch , again it all seemed so smooth like they had done it a million times before together. Extraction came and Dr Hakan did about half before leaving his Tech to finish , I know there's some debate over that issue but i put my trust in the staff Hakan chooses. After that was done i was quickly bandaged up and taken for a light lunch which lasted about 25 minutes , i like the way Turkish people don't stare and don't care what you are having done . Lunch done and it's back in the chair for the best bit , using the Choi pen i can honestly say it was painless and quick . Didem and a guy who spoke English (sorry didn't catch his name) were again in the room checking on me and translating everything for Dr Hakan .All in all it took about 3.5 hours for the whole thing to be done which just breezed by , i was then wheeled back to my bed to rest (i was given tablets for pain and swelling ). Next morning came and again after a light breakfast i was taken to see Dr Hakan who inspected the work before i was taken to be shown how to be washed . After that it was time to pay up and was given a goody bag of pills (biotin/ fin) , creams and shampoo with instructions on how to use them all . I rested up the rest of the day before being taken to the airport by Didem and returned home. As i said at the start of this piece i can't see what the result will be but if it's anywhere near the care and attention i recieved from Dr Hakan , Didem and the rest of the staff i will be very happy . Top class service , i hope for the same result wise and right now i feel quietly confident . Already a few days on you can't notice surgery unless you dig deep so that's a good start.. Photos to follow when i get 5 mins
  2. Alright ...put it this way , the replies speak for themselves mate . I was basically trying to stop you from making a mistake , think coalition Dr's and i don't think you will go far wrong.
  3. Stop right there mate , just stop . Not being rude but i think you need to do your homework on here , first place to look is the list of approved Dr's on here .....speak to guys like Spex and Garageland .. Just my own view but the only UK clinic i would ever consider is Farjo . Research , research research!
  4. Great write up , I'm due to see Dr Hakan very soon....your positive review has lifted my nerves a little so thanks for that . Just one question , the write up says you flew in to Istanbul ....i thought the clinic was in Antalya ?
  5. Superb result mate , what method of extraction was used and are you on meds both before and after the op ?
  6. ......i like Demirsoy's work but he isn't Coalition is he ? .The only two I'm aware of in Turkey are Erogdan and Doganay , that standard is the first thing i look for in a Doctor.
  7. Yes mate there was a massive rise in cost between the Dr's for me too , that was due to the number of grafts between each quote.
  8. Research mate , use this board and others . There's loads of approved Dr's on here around Europe and indeed the World . You really have to do your homework to make sure you don't go wrong , look at both patient reviews and clinics examples. Reach out to some of the trusted reps on here like Garageland and Spex before you rush into anything. By the way at 28 i wouldn't advise H/T without meds , i was your age first time around and after a year or two lost more ground .
  9. Well i got a reply back .......2.5 euro per graft for manual , nothing extra for the non shaven part .Go soon......
  10. I had the same issue as you , I opted for Hakan . Like you Koray suggested a lot more grafts than Hakan (and several other Dr's i consulted with ) , i go to Hakan in two weeks , i don't think there's much between them , more grafts should mean a better result so if you have the money it's your choice.
  11. My previous surgery with Dr Feller blossomed on about 10 months , crowns tend to be slower .
  12. Help a brother out guys , I'm going round and round in circles ..... i can't decide if i need motorized or manual extraction when i see Dr Doganay , i speak to several great guys in private on here and some say one and the others say the second option ....it's for a 1000 grafts into the crown . All thoughts welcome. I've read Mickeys fantastic guide but still struggling to decide
  13. Does anybody know if he charges for both Manual and unshaved surgery ? , I'm due for 1000 grafts soon and am aware I'm paying 2.5 euro for Manual but does he charge for unshaved on top of that ? I've tried the reps but they aren't that clear to be honest!
  14. Worrying , thats a rare bad mark against Dr Hakan.....and exactly why i prefer Manual punch.
  15. Cheers for the reply Garageland , i took plenty of photos from different angles so hopefully i will be alright. Will take a bit more cash but hope i don't have to use it .
  16. I'm just wondering how near the quotes are from online consultations to actual graft count ? , is it wise to take lots of extra money to the surgery ?
  17. Hi , have you tried Selsun Blue ? .....I've seen amazing results with that stuff.
  18. I find Dr Hakans point about grafts being out longer via Manual punch quite interesting , i head to him soon for 1000 grafts and I've chosen manual even though it costs a bit more.
  19. Hi mate , there was very little between the two Dr's result wise. I went with Doganay as i felt Erdogan wanted to use too many grafts , Doganays quote was in line with quotes from Lorenzo and Bisanga so i opted for him . I have to say the option of non shaven via the choi was a big pull. David T.T.P ....cheers mate , will be posting this to help others as well as myself.
  20. No mate , only the donor. I'm also having manual extraction .....cost more but i believe it to be better for the grafts.
