  1. My month 5 vs month 8, I think shock loss was why earlier months looked worse than month 6-ish onwards.
  2. Your head is probably swollen also, the hairline will adjust and become a bit lower than what you see now.
  3. I see what you mean, it really appears to be how sensitive you are to DHT? Men also thin in the donor area, it happens. Maybe someone can weigh in some personal experience. Stress could also be brought into discussion relating to hair loss. I do find the buffer argument interesting however (diameter of extraction influences area affect).
  4. You need to stay on finasteride after a hair transplant in order to maintain the transplanted hair health. Hair on the back/side of your head is less sensitive to DHT but that doesn't mean it's immune. If someone has lost their transplanted hair after a certain amount of years; it's likely they didn't stick to finasteride.
  5. Oh your crown is fantastic, bravo. Finasteride works wonders for holding onto existing hair.
  6. Shock loss can sometimes take months to recover. It all depends on how long ago this happened and if you're on medication for hair loss.
  7. I've seen smaller procedures make a weak donor actually look better after it's been harvested. Particularly with people who have been overharvested, a second procedure can fade any obvious signs of weak donor.
  8. Great progress so far! The hairline might be a centimetre lower than the usual, but this always isn't a bad thing. As long as your facial muscles don't move your hairline up and down while speaking you'll be fine. Also as a side note; you have wonderful facial hair density!
  9. I wish I had your hairline! How is your crown area? Is this balding?
  10. Hi, I was wondering if the hair restoration network would be interested in having a form for users to apply as moderators? I've been on this forum for 2 years and it seems there is only one moderator (who does a good job by the way!). There are members such as @Gatsby that I think would do a wonderful job.
  11. Small update, nothing fancy. Just showing that hair is still in tact after almost 2 years. Haven't had a haircut in a few months. 21 months post operation:
  12. Thanks friends, I think if I was to have a second transplant it might be when I'm 28 and only a small one for my temples? Say around 1000 grafts maximum and no more. Would this be a safe bet? I understand with fixing the temples you also need to lower the hairline slightly too.
  13. Well you've been on it long enough to look at transplants, a lot of younger people want transplants prior to any long term finasteride use. I recommend going to local clinics to get a review of your donor area, then travel abroad for the actual procedure.
  14. You seem to be in the same boat I was in (maybe even better?). How long have you been on finasteride? It's also important to note that transplanted hair is grows slightly darker compared to non-transplanted.
  15. Best of luck friend, rooting for you. They look like they've done a great job based on those photos. I went to Elitehair in turkey and I'm content with my results (given the price of £2400).
  16. Wow. for 5 months your hair is growing exceptionally well, amazing!
  17. Hi, yes sir. I plan to do the donor in the future to help with the color imbalance. But I'm going to wait until after a second hair transplant to do so.
  18. Wow, you're going to have an incredible result. Rooting for you my friend!
  19. Thank you friend! People say I can pass as an 18 year old (I'm 27 this month). It's been a while but I believe I was on medication 6 months prior to the operation? Kept on them since.
  20. Hello again everyone! I thought to share a 18 months update with you all. At this time it is considered the final full result. 18 months post operation:
  21. The UK isn't the best place for a transplant, and for only £2000? Something sounds fishy.. You'd be paying £4000 minimum in the UK.. around £5 per graft.
  22. Hi! Alas I have poor genetics when it comes to growing facial hair. It has been 17 months since my hair transplant in Turkey. I may consider a smaller transplant in the future (specifically for improving density) but I'm trying to be cautious given my age (27) and thin hair.
  23. Hi, thank you for the feedback! There are several factors to consider when getting SMP. Lighting is essential for SMP to look good, which is why a lot of people say it only works well indoors, I agree with this. SMP (though minor) helps give a nice textured look under your scalp rather than seeing the scalp itself, however it's important to note that if you only get partial SMP work done (say on the crown only) you WILL notice a colour difference of your scalp if your hair is too short. I only got the top of my scalp done and not the sides. Here is an example; Here's an example of how light can affect density; this is the same room, same time, just standing under a harsh light vs not; (Outdoors) In conclusion, SMP is better than having nothing at all in my opinion, but just note the impact is very minor when it comes to outdoors as your scalp will still reflect the light. Depending on your hairstyle choice; you may also need to have your full head done rather than one particular area. It's certainly worth trying if you're worried about overusing grafts, the crown is a tricky area to achieve density through a hair transplant so anything is better than nothing in my opinion.
