  1. Hello again everyone! I thought to share a 18 months update with you all. At this time it is considered the final full result. 18 months post operation:
  2. The UK isn't the best place for a transplant, and for only £2000? Something sounds fishy.. You'd be paying £4000 minimum in the UK.. around £5 per graft.
  3. Hi! Alas I have poor genetics when it comes to growing facial hair. It has been 17 months since my hair transplant in Turkey. I may consider a smaller transplant in the future (specifically for improving density) but I'm trying to be cautious given my age (27) and thin hair.
  4. Hi, thank you for the feedback! There are several factors to consider when getting SMP. Lighting is essential for SMP to look good, which is why a lot of people say it only works well indoors, I agree with this. SMP (though minor) helps give a nice textured look under your scalp rather than seeing the scalp itself, however it's important to note that if you only get partial SMP work done (say on the crown only) you WILL notice a colour difference of your scalp if your hair is too short. I only got the top of my scalp done and not the sides. Here is an example; Here's an example of how light can affect density; this is the same room, same time, just standing under a harsh light vs not; (Outdoors) In conclusion, SMP is better than having nothing at all in my opinion, but just note the impact is very minor when it comes to outdoors as your scalp will still reflect the light. Depending on your hairstyle choice; you may also need to have your full head done rather than one particular area. It's certainly worth trying if you're worried about overusing grafts, the crown is a tricky area to achieve density through a hair transplant so anything is better than nothing in my opinion. 5. Hi! It's been almost a year since I made this post. Since then I've gotten SMP work done (three sessions) and I thought to share the results here for reference, hope this helps someone. (I'm also on finasteride which may have increased the crown density over the past year)
  6. I like to go to a Turkish barber here in Ireland, the owner himself has had a transplant in his home country so he understands the importance of blending hair to avoid visible scars. I haven't had a good experience with hair dressers really, though with that said they'll likely do a much better job at coloring hair. I personally color at home if needed.
  7. I got SMP work done as an alternative to toppik. For some men toppik works amazingly, I personally don't enjoy using it. SMP can look great indoors, but you'll still have the same issues under the harsh sun. Thanks for the advice though. I agree that a top doctor could transplant follicles in between existing hairs, but I'm just happy & fortunate enough that my first transplant done by techs in turkey worked out! I wouldn't be able to afford a top doctor.
  8. Absolutely, more grafts per square centimetre the better! I personally worry about damaging existing transplanted grafts with a second procedure though... As well as thinning out my donor too much.
  9. You're welcome! Yes sir, it seems to be a very common issue with hair transplants; heavy lighting will always be your enemy.
  10. Good luck my friend, I had mine done when I was 25. I'm sure you're aware that the doctor will also put grafts in your existing hair also to help thicken it? They'll also likely do the whole hairline and not leave any gaps.
  11. An issue I have with those pictures is that they were taken right AFTER the procedure itself. This makes the dots look darker and better than they would do a week later.
  12. Hi, some artists are able to do it with a grade 4 or lower cut, but I imagine a close shave is best for optimal results.
  13. Hi dotdashdashdash, hope you're doing well. I had the entire top/crown of my scalp done, but not the sides (I'll likely do this in the future though to hide fue scaring). I didn't need to shave my head for the SMP treatment. YouTube is a decent place to see results, but I recommend viewing results from weeks after the SMP treatment, the reason for this is that SMP looks darker for the first couple of weeks.
  14. I completely understand your view on wanting them to focus 100% and not be distracted with conversation. Personally, I don't think the techs chatting would affect the final results. They'll still be looking at your scalp as they make the same incisions .etc. The techs did talked throughout my experience and it didn't cause any negative experience. My dentist also chats with the assistant while doing procedures, it also doesn't seem to affect results.
  15. I don't know if I'm missing something, but it seems like the majority of your grafts survived? Hair transplants aren't really meant to be shaven so short.
  16. I had PRP treatment done (derma pen) method after 1 month post operation at 1mm. It didn't seem to have a negative impact on the result, though I'd advice against derma pens regardless since your scalp is still healing.
  17. Are there even good surgeons in the UK that are not overpriced? Why not fly internationally/
  18. I went to Elithair in Istanbul personally. I'm content with the results, especially for the price.
  19. They've delayed you getting an actual transplant for another year also since this one isn't working out. I'm super glad that your donor is growing back thick though. You'll be able to get what you need from a real clinic.
  20. Be careful with budget clinics. Always make sure to do your research before taking the jump! Some 'hairmills' are actually hidden gems, whereas others will destroy your donor and will do more damage than harm.
  21. Hi friend, I've done this personally. Anything added in an improvement, no matter how slight. It's definitely worth considering in my opinion but know that it's mainly for the crown and FUE scars, but it can work to add density across the whole scalp. Sunlight will always be against you also. Here are a few examples; (Before) (After) (Before) (After)
  22. Thank you friend! Your journey has been one I've been following closely and I'm beyond amazed at your progress. Eugenix did a fantastic job! Extremely happy for you also, thank you for the advice you've given me over the course of the past year.
