Pyrilutamide - A Game Changer In the Making?
SeanT1 replied to NARMAK's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Solutions to hair loss have been coming and going for many MANY years. If all the promises companies have made over the years followed through, there would be no more balding in the world. Let's hope this is the real deal and a solid alternative to finasteride. -
2 hairs attached to bulb normal?
SeanT1 replied to olic_g's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
100% normal, follicles can have more than one hair. It's simply moving into the shedding phase. They'll grow back. -
Month twelve update! It's finally one whole year since my hair transplant surgery. The wait is worse than the actual operation, my sympathies for everyone who's impatient as me. Like the previous months, nothing much has happened. I believe I'm at the end of my hair transplant journey with Elithair. FINAL REVIEW COMING SOON! Going to write it in a new thread as this one is only a log. 12 months post operation: (Original position right next to a bright window) (Alternative lighting indoors) (Alternative lighting indoors 2) (Alternative lighting indoors 3) (Light/shadow contrast through window blinds) (Under bad lighting vs not) (Outdoors) (Donor area)

>80% of results by 6 months prove me wrong
SeanT1 replied to jxlegend's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Do people really see new hairs push through beyond 6 months? It seems like doubles & triples grow in the same position as the existing hairs but that's about it. Everything else is the hair maturing. -
Is it safe to transplant near existing hair?
SeanT1 replied to SoSoz's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Was wondering this also. I assumed poor shock loss recovery only occurs on miniaturizing follicles and not pre-transplanted DHT resistant follicles. -
I have a bitter sweet opinion on those who bash Turkey for low prices. It's clear that people on this forum are giving honest advice and wanting the best for those who are in need. It's really nice to see. But at the same time, there is a harsh critique on traveling to Turkey as a whole when Turkey does have a few solid doctors at reasonable prices (an example is Dr. Yaman). Instead of saying the guy is doomed, maybe we should point to the solid doctors within Turkey and give advice as how to avoid a botched transplant. The common argument that technicians are the root of all evil doesn't sit well with me either. The same people who would argue this are also the same who would vouch for places like Eugenix in India which also has technicians on staff. Personally I went to Istanbul after a ton of research. Quite happy with my result. Be smart, do your research, you'll find horrible clinics all over the world. Find the one that's right for you and fits your needs.

Is this hair loss or crown ?
SeanT1 replied to Suda's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Looks like a natural swirl of your hair. -
Absolutely, a transplant 99% of the time will be a lot better than what you used to have prior. We just push for perfection too much.
-
100% right, I think this is why others insist that a hair transplant is the 'illusion' of more hair. (12 months next week) I've attached some other different lighting situations to help give you an idea under different circumstances; (At Window) (House lit room - night) (Room with natural lighting - day) (Car lighting - day) (Ideal lighting - dimmer indoor room) (Outdoor lighting - day) (Under heavy bathroom lighting at a resturant) It could be covered up with a fringe which is why a lot of people who have had transplants prefer longer lengths.
-
Absolutely, great point! Lighting is also a huge factor. Here's an example in natural light vs harsh light;
-
Haven't seen anyone have issues with longer hair. Even women get hair transplants that tend to keep their hair long. Best of luck. Longer hair is meant to make a transplant look more dense also.

How many hairs do you find in the shower?
SeanT1 replied to SeanT1's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
That's interesting.. would you consider shampooing every second day too much? -
10 weeks post op question..
SeanT1 replied to Yan bio's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
At 10 weeks yes this can be new hairs growing in. -
As the poll says, how many hairs do you notice fall out while taking a shower? Feel free to post with more information also. Personally; -Almost 1 year since 3400 graft FUE hair transplant, -Been on Finasteride for 2 years, -Typically find 30-40 hairs after shampooing my hair. Hopefully collecting this information will help ease others worries with what hair loss is considered normal.
-
Biiiig improvement, happy for you sir. This is important to note. SMP doesn't provide a huge increase of density but anything beyond nothing is an improvement.

Hair transplant in Turkey(?)
SeanT1 replied to Dracanea_draco's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Be careful with choosing a clinic in Turkey. The majority are hair mills but with that said I had great luck with Elithair. They're also confident enough to showcase transplant results on YouTube. Despite the fact that transplants are being done by a tech team, I'm happy with my results. -
5 months is too early. Hair follicles are independent, they grow when they want to. Some take a 4 months, some take 8 months. Time will tell. Here is my five months versus nine months;

Amazing result, how is the crown?

FUE Hair Transplant Review - Dr. Laorwong - 2,600 Grafts
SeanT1 replied to Gi29's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
This is going to be a home run! -
Between not taking finasteride and your seborrheic dermatitis, I think these are the reasons why your first transplant didn't work out. The second transplant looks really promising, a huge difference at 5 months! I am happy for you, make sure that you take all the medication you need to keep your new hair. It will thicken up over time. Also, try biotin supplements every day as a boost. It is good for hair AND skin health.
-
This is an interesting thing to say. I don't think anyone can argue against the idea that side effects from stress & anxiety from hair loss itself, could be mistaken as finasteride side effects. For most people, hair loss causes a huge dip in confidence, which we can assume would also cause a dip in libido and sexual performance.
-
You could try topical finasteride if this is the case, apparently it has no side affects compared to oral. In regards to the affect on your HT recovery, it's better safe than sorry & just take the finasteride. It's a wound on your head essentially, you want as little conflict going on up there as possible. Your grafts need to find themselves.
-
3500-4000 is a solid amount, you should expect good results. Donor hair is DHT resistant, not DHT immune. There is a risk of transplanted hair falling out over time if you're not on medication. I have an allergic reaction to minoxidil personally so just finasteride every other day does the job and spacing it like so prevents side effects.
-
You're meant to stay on finasteride for most of your life if you have hair loss, not just a year. What dose are you on? It's common for people who have lower libido to take finasteride every other day rather than every day. Finasteride prevents your hair from receding any further.
