  1. It shouldnt be happening 5 months late. This may need your doctors input. I am 5 months post transplant and I still use a soft brush to comb the recipient area else I get little irritation. Something like below may help if you don't mind the color. I would say avoid scrubbing comb against the scalp at recipient for a couple more months. Wet Brush Speed Dry Hair Brush - Pink : Target
  2. Well sometime these things take a long time before they get noticed. Remember talcum powder used to be very common for so many years until it was found to be carcinogenic. Not saying that concealers are necessarily dangerous but lack of articles is not exactly a stamp of safety check, specially for a product which is used by a very limited group. I use it but I think being careful and even wearing a mask while applying it is not necessarily a bad idea.
  3. For men in 30s and 40s a more matured and conservative hairline looks better and natural than aiming to have a teenage or low hairline. Of course conserving donor hair is another very important aspect of it.
  4. He is a good Doctor and clinic seemed nice. But last year he was using ARTAS so I had to go with other option. I was hesitant to go under a Robot then. I have watched Terminator too many times. Maybe technology will improve if given a chance but I don't want to be the one giving it a chance 🙂 .
  5. The result is good. A little bit of feathered look at the hairline is ok . It gives a more natural look specially as we age.
  6. Looks clean and good. Some people use Aloe Vera after some time if there is any itching. Probably you know the drill of keeping the scalp clean with baby shampoo etc and some people take multivitamin after the transplant. Be careful to avoid any accidental head bumps. Happy growing
  7. For a 4 month post surgery, you seem to have a good growth. We all try to get perfection but I will be happy with a transplant if the after is much better than before which seems to be true in your case. I hope the donor area is healed well and there are not very visible sign of extraction. Not sure if you will even need another transplant soon. If you get a satisfactory result in 3-4 months, maybe you can put the thought of another transplant on hold and do some research. Glad you didn't pull out the transplanted hair out of panic and impulse 4 months back.
  8. Just an FYI to anyone else who is having more than normal pimples or itching because of skin sensitivity. So at around 3 months I had a couple of big pimples and many small ones which are normal. The big ones were becoming kind of crusty and were very visible from close and I was worried that they can slow down the hair sprouts from coming out. I did apply cold pressed organic aloe which reduced my itching on pimples but it was still not gone. I wish I had been applying aloe sooner. I applied polysporin ointment for few days upon consultation and the pimples were gone and the recipient skin looks much better. I also applied all clear white medical Vaseline once a while to keep the itching low. Of course please consult your doctor before this but its an option.
  9. Hi @dev.16g, Looks very good so far. Did you have to shave any part of the recipient area ? Did you get any graft in area behind your currently existing hairline ? Do you know what punch size was used for extraction ? I am kind of curious since I am thinking of keeping Eugenix as a top option if I get next HT done in India
  10. A couple of more months wait will definitely give you a more certain outlook. On the positive side you have got ok growth for a slow grower and your grafts are not lost. If you are not satisfied in few month a corrective filler procedure to add density and single hair grafts in the hairline can be easily done.
  11. haha didnt notice the year, but I am sure seeing his 5 months progress and difference from pre op, his final result would have been very good. I guess once he results were good he didn't need to come back on the forum.
  12. Eugenix is good but they have increase the rate a lot specially with different package type. The best package is 350 per graft which is almost 6 dollars. I wish they had more good clinics in India or at least we became aware of few more good ones so there is some healthy competition between the transplant providers.
  13. I think the usual call to maximize the hair graft is FUT first then FUE. The reason being when you do FUE first, the donor density reduces overall and if you take a FUT section out of that donor area it will have lesser density and maybe not as great hair quality as FUT on pristine hair. I had the same dilemma but I still went with small FUE because quicker recovery time. But definitely if you do a large FUE then it will be difficult to get good value out of FUT. Maybe you can do some search on the sequence of FUE and FUT for best result before taking the plunge. I guess the doctor will give you better advice.
  14. They do the extraction using ARTAS if you are using FUE , not sure if that's good or bad. I had initial consultations with them and ARTAS FUE was advised . If I really wanted manual FUE, that it would cost more. I was told that ARTAS has improved a lot at current version but I was still not sure about ROBOTIC extraction. For strip procedure of course this point is of no concern.
  15. All three doctors mentioned in the list are good. I had consultations with Dr Glenn and Dr Paul. The clinic seemed to be good. But there is one issue, they all use ARTAS for hair extraction and it is frowned upon here. So I went with Dr Jefferey Epstein but he is also a plastic surgeon and does different kind of surgeries and not just hair transplant. It was a smooth experience but cant tell you about outcome yet as it has been slightly over 3 months. Not sure if ARTAS is as bad as some people say because many good surgeons use that but that's a separate topic.
  16. I had a FUE around three and a half month before 1500 mostly hairline. Hair growth has been just ok but I guess that's normal for 3 month period. But I do have few pimples (5-6 )like shave bumps on recipient area and some irritation time to time. Is it something I should be concerned about ? Should I apply Aloe or Eucerin ?
  17. I had 1500 FUE without shaving the recipient area and it took 9 hrs (longer than normal) but the process was smooth. The donor area was shaved but kind of grew little in 2/3 weeks and after 3 weeks no one could notice the transplant but I had to cut my hair short to match it all and have a tapered look in the back. As for result it has been three months as right now so I cannot say if having no shave had a very bad impact. But no shave fue needs more attention and concentration by the technicians/surgeon when putting the graft.
  18. It has been three months since my hairline FUE and I do not have much growth, though there are some sprouts. I have some few pimples (5-6) on the recipient area. Is that of concern ?
  19. So after more than a decade of initial thinking I finally got my FUE procedure done. My first consultation as with Bosley 12 years ago and they asked for a complete shave for a FUT. Because it was my initial career stage and a formal office setting , getting a month or 2 off was extremely difficult and wearing cap in office was not an option. So I procrastinated My hair loss was limited to front hairline by less than an inch which seems to be stabilized for like last 10 years starting at age of 23. I have been apprehensive about hair transplants : If they work or not or even if they work for some will they work for me or how my scalp will react to transplanted hair. Since I was apprehensive I waited so long and finally got a no recipient shave FUE but only 1300 grafts. Doctor asked me for anything between 1300 to 1800 depending how far behind I want to cover. I would not even call it an operation. It was smooth and yes there was some pain (less than a root canal). So as they say most doctors get a lot of help from the technicians in putting the hair inside the slots and so was my case with guidance from the doctor. But extraction and punching was just the doctor and also a part of front hair line placement . So I would say its not just the doctor that matter its the experience of the technicians helping in surgery. Progress: Used neck pillow for 3 days as had some discomfort for 3 days. Used painkiller and antibiotic for 3 days. I was also using liposomal ATP spray for 3 days, I had scabs till about 13 days which I gently removed after long soak and baby shampoo. After a month I still have almost 70 % of grafts. Its not clearly visible in my pics though. Good: Healing was quick and I could go out and socialize just after a month without needing a cap. My donor area hair has grown and I could get a fade away kind of haircut. So hair transplant not noticeable with a certain hairstyle. Its only a month and things have been looking fine but in case my procedure has a successful result a couple of things I would change. I should have probably got this done few years back. I should have done some more grafts (1800) as if you are going through the session and the whole healing process its better to get a chunk of it done. I think its ok to get this done in 20s as long as you build a conservative hairline and take into account future hair loss. Because you are not loosing those grafts, they will remain with you. But please do not aim for a teenage hairline in your 20s.
