  1. Yes For NW6, another option would have been to start with FUT then go with FUE to maximize graft. It seems as time is progressing doctors are more leaning towards FUE even for high NW patients. @webathon Donor shock loss mostly recovers . Its the recipient already thinning areas which may become worse and may not survive shock loss but since you are NW6 I guess you do not have lots of native hair in the recipient area. Another reason why people can opt for two sessions is that if for some reason the first transplant is not 100% successful it is not all lost. But since you are going with one of the top ones, that risk is minimal.
  2. Hi, This is a very valid and common concern. After having a hairline restoration its important to be on loss prevention regime like propecia/minoxidil to slow down the furthur loss but it still can happen. So I think once we get a hairline restoration we should be mentally and financially ready for maybe needing another one 5-10 years down the line. Another reason why the hairline restoration should be conservative to start with. I think a good doctor can give you a plan according to you genetic predisposition to which class of NW will you go. For a decade later you dont need 100 % coverage to look natural , its how the follicles are used.
  3. Ok now I notice, its pretty small scar. Nice work with closure technique.
  4. Hello, So your first procedure was aslo FUT I assume ?
  5. Good point. Thats why for high norwood doctors will add good density to the front third and low density on crown area, just enough for concealers to work. If you dont want to use concealers then BHT/SMP is another option to improve crown. But for sure for the hairline you need good grafts. Concealers and BHT and SMP do not help that much in the hairline.
  6. Difficult to say as I had a hairline transplant 9 months back and the hair texture is improving so it maybe just regular transplant improvement cycle. The crown I can see minor improvement. I have decided to follow the regimen for at least 4 months before looking too much into improvement. I am happy that it is easy to apply, no headache (I got from alcohol based solutions) and the smell is not bad. Will update the progress in a month or two
  7. Yes .1 % , 2 ml DUT + Biotin . has been two month, no sides.
  8. I use the one from Strut in USA and I wash my hair after 3-4 hours after applying. Its for different reason though as I cannot keep it on while sleeping because of aroma/smell in the vicinity. I was wondering the same. Is applying overnight better than 4 hrs. But to compensate I apply 3 times a week.
  9. If you are above 25 I think it is ok to go for transplant. Yes enjoying 20s and early thirties is an important aspect of life. But you have have to understand that your MPB may progress if you are not taking medication so when you get transplant it should just not just cover the completely bald area but a little behind it too so that future hairloss doesnt make it look bad. Also keep in mind that you may need another surgery 5-10 years later. But with GOOD doctor and CONSERVATIVE hairline approach you should be good. Hopefully 10-15 years later we will have stem cell/hair cloning. There are people who regret doing surgery early but some like me wished that we had done it earlier.
  10. When you guys say microdosing a topical formula does it mean smaller dose on a smaller interval keeping overall does to prescribed limit or smaller than prescribed dose per day ?
  11. FUT + FUE for the hairline then maybe BHT + FUE for some crown density (enough for concealers to do magic.
  12. Your improvement is extermely good.Your donor is not that bad. I think the buzz cut in the back makes it look thinner but it is decent. You dont need a transplant at this point though. I think wanting a transplant at this point is the hair greed bug and we tend to go through it. 🙂 . I had some decent result with my 1 st tranplant but now my expectations became even higher. I am also trying the topical DUT and hopefully if the improvement is even half good as yours I wont need another.
  13. Yes i will update. It has been 45 days only, I would expect to see some impact from 4 months onward and probably keep track using monthly pictures. Uptil now no sides and I got used to the minty aroma which is much better than the alcohol based solutions. Twice a week applications is easy and 20 mins after applying the solution the hair looks ok unlike some other solutions which make hair look sparse after application. I really hope it works since application is so easy.
  14. If you are planning to use topical , no need to start with Oral, just wait for your order. From struts (USA) it was pretty quick probably less than a week for me. Not sure if you are in Europe or US. Again if ordering from Struts I would recommend just Dut+Biotin solution . They sell many concoctions but the minimum content , the better and less chances of sides. I am pretty happy with it in terms of easy to apply, no sides, no scalp irritation and no bad smell. Hopefully they are as effective as the FUE clinic ones.
  15. Dont rely 100% on youtube promotional videos. 4 months is too short even for early growers. People who had transplant get growth spurts after 6 months usually. 6-9 is usually the biggest transformation time.
  16. Were you happy with growth in a year time after transplant ? Is there a reason you didnt inform doctor about the problem earlier . It is strange for someone to loose transplanted hair after 4-5 years unless they were extracted from non MPB safe donor region. Since this was your first transplant I do not see any reason why donor hair will not be extracted from safe zones as there should have been enough. Is it just a bad transplant or is it also something to do with your physiology. Before you go for another procedure its better to try to find the cause of the issue. Make sure that you do not have retrograde MPB.
  17. PRP is very iffy, not sure if it does anything on its own. Some doctors use it with Transplant. Some people have started trying topical Dutersteride (From Strut in US, Fueclinic in Europe) and have heard some good feedback but I think it is still new. But even Topical may go into blood stream and mayhave some side effects though lesser than oral version.
  18. For High packed, as someone mentioned Hasson and Wong but there are other good ones for Hairline like Ron, Shapiro, Raymond Konior, Cooley etc. You can have consultations with them and and then see with which one are you most in sync. You can check the ones recommended on the Forum.
  19. Yes since you are above 30 you do not need a very low hairline for natural look. Rather than lower hairline make sure your hairline and temples go well together and have enough density. I would say it should be between 2000-2200 . Again a good doctor probably seeing you in person can give you better estimate.
  20. 2000 should be good enough. Not sure how old you are but need to save grafts in case you need crown work in future. The problem with highly packed small areas is that it requires a lot of graft. Unless you are sure that you will not progress more than NW3 , then you can go with highly packed hairline.
  21. I would say 2000. Less than that may work but will not give you the desired density you want. You also need some temple work to make it all work together. Go conservative with hairline because if your loss progresses you should have enough grafts left for more sessions.
  22. I don't see density as being a huge problem for you at leaset not evident in the pictures. Transplant cannot bring teen density back. Its the hairline shape. It seems you are frowning in most of your pics which make the V shape of your hairline probably more prominent than it is. It may also be that V shape doesn't go well with almost shaved sides. Also V shape needs good temples to go with. Your hairline and temples may need some more work will will improve the overall appearance a lot. Time to consult a good hairline expert. Not sure how long people have to wait between 2 transplant but I think usually around 15-18 months.
  23. You guys leave the Topical DUT overnight ? I usually apply it daytime and then shampoo my hair in 3-4 hrs.
