  1. Thanks for the response @forest Congrats on the makeover, your previous style was a mess and the new look would be a game changer for sure!! Had you not heard of finasteride before, that you never took it before? Do you feel confident you will be able to take it for the rest of the life considering the potential side effects? As for beard, you're right, scalp hair is best, but beard hair blends in well in the top area only. So if in the future you reach nw 7 or 8 you would also need to cover the crown and back of the head too. Then you can't use beard hair there. You would have to use scalp hair but you already used up some precious scalp hair already. Is this something you discussed with the doc?
  2. Man great documentation. I have some questions for you 1. how did you style your pre transplant hair? I'm really curious to know this 2. You still have some thinned out hair on top. Do you expect them to survive? Or was the transplant planned assuming they will not survive? 3. Do you have to allow them to use your photos in their videos and social media? 4. How do you think you will go bald in the coming years? Which norwood scale will you reach? Did you start taking finasteride only after this procedure? Is it oral finasteride? 5. Why didnt you use beard hair? Euginex is known to use that well. So you could have kept donor hair for future tranplants.
  3. interesting how most people who have done HTs comb their hair back and not front. combing forward could give the illusion of a better hairline but people don't use that. I think for your face if you hadn't lost any hair at all it would look good to have some hair falling on the forehead. but with a HT, I wonder how it would look.
  4. imagine you're young and foolish and upon noticing some receding hairline you swiftly got that filled with a transplant. now fast forward 15 years you've lost far too much hair and you kinda regret that great hairline because that hair could have been used somewhere else. can you take that transplanted hair as donor again and move it somewhere else? what is the success rate like with good surgeons?
  5. just an honest thought - why not discuss here so it benefits everyone? we're all in the same boat pretty much
  6. @Melvin-Moderatoryou had some hair left on the top when you had a transplant and you didn't take Finasteride to prevent shock loss. Do you know if that hair survived? what was your expectation before surgery? Did you plan on them surviving? Thanks!
  7. it makes sense the way Melvin explains this. apprenticeship is a thing after all. it's a not a bad thing they make it clear who gets involved at what price. And Indians in particular would need more options as $5 per graft is ridiculously high for most of the population. and I did not question their ethics. when I said business minded I meant they are interested in opening a chain of transplant centres and creating a "brand". I am only concerned that it might eventually dilute their quality. just a healthy dose of skepticism, I hope my concerns are invalid.
  8. Eugenix seems very business minded. They seem to be interested in setting up a big company. I think ideally they should have only one package where the main docs do the surgeries. Is this an India specific thing? There are some other famous docs in India who too provide the "brand name" but other docs do the surgeries. But in the US, all the famous docs cost a ton, but they do the surgeries themselves.
  9. Most doctors don't even consider using chest hair. Only Dr. Umar Sansui (as far as a I know) is very willing to use all body hair. I don't know his success rate, you should email him and ask. Beard hair is more commonly used. Here is Eugenix's video on this topic and it contains some stats: But then there might be other doctors who ge better results.
  10. wow this looks great! I think with this hair style one can use all the hair from the lower donor area? if it's kept shaven /buzzed anyway..
  11. Yeah it could be true. I would feel more convinced if there are other medications out there (not hair loss related) which have a similar mechanism
  12. I don't understand how you can apply something on your scalp, it gets absorbed into the blood stream and it has effect only there. Is there any medication in the world which is advertised like this? "apply this on your skin, it will get absorbed into blood stream but the effects are restricted to just that region"
