  1. My surgery got postponed due to some unforeseen circumstances. It should be end of this month of mid November. More updates to come soon...
  2. Doesn’t Matthew McConaughey actually wear a wig or a hair piece according to Joe Tillman? Lol.
  3. Thank you so much for the great advice. I’m practicing now and I look forward to posting my own story. I appreciate your wisdom and kind thoughts. Regarding my upcoming surgery with Ron Shapiro, I’m not nervous at all, because I’m confident in my surgeon. When I was with Diep, it was a different story. Reading your posts is honestly terrifying. Comparing your experience with literally every other patient’s hair transplant (who didn’t go to Diep) is not even in the same ballpark... Your story is the polar opposite from everyone else who has gone to top tier surgeons like H&W, Konior, Rahal, Cooley, Gabel, Nadimi and etc. The dysfunctional staff and lack of organization at Diep’s office was a huge red flag to me when initially working with them. Every time I called to try and get more information, they punted to reach out by email. It took weeks to get any type of response and when I did, it was lackluster and unhelpful. It was so shockingly bad that there was a debacle of their staff attempting to get me connected to Diep for my consultation. During this two hour process, my wife literally said “Are you kidding me? Is this a place you trust to do your surgery? That’s awful.” It’s definitely not surprising to see this dysfunctional behavior continue through to the operating room and in the office. Now that I’ve worked with other top tier clinics, the experience is dramatically different. All others are responsive, helpful, and intelligible. I know it’s about the results, but what about being able to do your job and be competent so that your patients feel comfortable with the clinic? It honestly baffles me that Diep is on the recommended list based on his staff alone... Again, the results talk, but I find it unacceptable that Diep’s clinic operates the way it does when compared to literally every other clinic. It’s so shockingly bad it honestly disgusts me as no human deserves that treatment. It’s not a witch hunt at all, but just speaking the truth. I really hope Diep tightens things up or he’s going to continue to lose more potential patients...
  4. Congratulations! Fantastic result! Looking fresh and glad that you got a major confidence boost.
  5. Transection rate is nice. I switched from Diep though due to donor work, ethics, false expectations set by doctor, unresponsive staff and his overall technique. I also talked to other clinics and they say past Diep's past patients go to them to fix issues or get repair work. The best clinic in the world said this: "His donor work looks like someone just tenderized meat." Ouch.. But I can see the resemblance:
  6. Can we see some clearer pictures of your hairline? Any close-ups of the hairline zoomed in?
  7. Looking great! Correct me if I am wrong, but am I seeing some doubles/triples in the hairline though?
  8. Not to hijack the thread, but can I wear a helmet to go ziplining 11 or 12 days after my FUE procedure?
  9. My body is super sensitive to any medication and that is why I am low dosing it for now. I took it in the morning for the first doses, and just did one last night to help. I am still a little fuzzy, but it's manageable. I could try topical fin, but I heard this is systemic anyways and it's much easier to do it orally. I will update us in one week to let you know if this subsides.
  10. Already experiencing headaches/cloudiness from first two doses. No, it’s not placebo, but I hear this typically subsides after one week of usage as my body is not used to fin yet.
  11. It’s just a start to monitor to ensure I have no crazy sides. Also, I’m not doing minoxidil as H&W told me that’s a no no due to the poor affects it has on your collagen and that it only helps for the first 6 months and is not that great. I can take biotin supplements though. Any mg you recommend for biotin supplements? Daily dosage as well there?
  12. Not take things off topic, but I took the plunge into oral fin. It’s the only proven drug to help prevent/stop hair loss until another safer product hits the market. Going to start off with .25mg every day for 3 months then switch to .5mg for every day for a year. Wish me luck on the sides, but lower dosage will help me monitor/manage it better I hope. If I lose my dick, it’s the risk I took with many hours of research. I think everyone should be required to research it heavily before taking the pill. Or take some type of comprehensive knowledge check. Just my two cents.
  13. Probably is. I’m gonna try it and see if it makes any difference. If not, topical fin for me...
  14. Sorry to bump an old thread, but where can I purchase Essengen-F or any topical fin? I cannot find it anywhere!
  15. That would be interesting to understand as topical fin also bares the same side effects at a reduced rate per my understanding.
  16. I am a Norwood 3 getting close to Norwood 4... Idk. I don't want to get multiple transplants either.
  17. I am in the same exact boat. I am trying to conceive a child right now and Fin is a no bueno with that. I am getting a HT in January, but should I even bother doing it if my hair loss is going to progress? I have MPB and it's not going away... Any alternatives besides Fin? I refuse to take Fin as I am not taking any risks associated with it. I am 27 and my surgeon is recommending it, but I am too scared of the side effects. Even users who have never had sides, stop taking it and then develop side effects. Scary shit. I thought HT was the solution to not taking oral meds, but it only seems to be a more permanent bandaid? Considering ditching the HT route altogether if I have to take meds...
  18. I’m beginning to question the motive of all these HT doctors. It’s all about the money and that’s end of story. Out of the 5 consultations I had with the top tier doctors, only one of them gave it to me straight and actually cared about my future/longevity with donor hair. They actually look at future of my hair loss progressing. Mega sessions and doing HT for patients who don’t need it is becoming more common. I think doctors should be more upfront about the data and a long term plan instead of just performing surgeries. It’s just my two cents though. If someone wants to get 5k in one session when they only need 2-3k, then so be it. Lol
  19. Shapiro does not want to graft more than what is absolutely necessary for the future as your balding could progress. They want to reserve your donor hair for future procedures and ensure that you can add more if you absolutely need it. You may be super happy with 3000 and it look great so adding more is not necessary. Additionally, if you need to add more later, they can target the weaker areas instead of just filling in too densely in areas that may need that much coverage. It's about the illusion of density and if they can spread that across your head instead of concentrating in the frontal third, then they would rather do that.
  20. You should try Shapiro or Konior. Canada border will not re-open until early 2021 or March of next year until a formidable vaccine is released. Otherwise, we have to play the waiting game.
  21. Incredible results! Sorry to bump the thread, but any updates @dberliner? Would love to see how it looks a year later.
  22. Thank you for all the help. H&W is my first choice, but I believe the Canadian border won’t open back up until Spring of 2021 at this point. American cases need to dramatically decline for Canada to even consider Re-opening. So, I will opt for Dr. Ron Shapiro. Cooley and Gabel were on my list as well, but Shapiro is legendary on these forums and has many many years of experience, so I feel comfortable going to him now. I also like his work, but I’ll start a new thread once I make the final choice. I cannot wait until I share my results as they are going to be dramatic.
  23. Looks fantastic! Completely different look and it suits you very well. Can’t wait until the hair matures more and we see the last/final results.
  24. Unfortunately, Dr Diep’s assistant said the max they could harvest is 3500 and that is their limit. They told me that they don’t have time to do more, but if I wanted to harvest more, I could ask Dr. Diep on the day of surgery. That is poor business practice and 4 other surgeons said it was completely possible to get 4K or more with the strip method. I want a minimum of 4K for my surgery or I’m not doing it. It’s a shame because I asked why they did it for others and they said they no longer do it... So, I cannot go with them even if they had better transplant patterns and good donor management. That whole clinic gives me a bad taste in the mouth and have been super unprofessional with me throughout the whole process. I won’t go into it, but it was a nightmare to work with their assistants who could barely setup a consult and left me hanging for over an hour after the slotted time. Unforgivable.
  25. It has been brought to my attention that a new topical solution is being released which combines GHK-Cu and ESS60 For Hair Growth. This looks very promising and here is an article outlining the benefits: This article states it's as effective as minoxidil and overall the better option. What are your thoughts and opinions on this topical solution? It looks like a viable option and something I want to user after my hair transplant.
