  1. I still have some slight numbness in my recipient zone to this day and it's been 1 year and 4 months. It's not too bad, but it's there. This can last all your life from my understanding. I had an FUE procedure done.
  2. How the hell did the doctor utilize the amount of grafts and have such a stellar results? 🤩 🤩 🤩 Congratulations on getting your youth back! AMAZING!!!
  3. Looks amazing! How many grafts were utilized? May we see the donor site as well?
  4. It's looking really good! Much more defined hairline and it's lower. Very natural. I would love to see a head on picture of before vs after as 8 months should be a good indication of where growth is going.
  5. I am glad your procedure ended up favorable. Good stuff! Do you want another procedure? If so, I say go for it. Not to sound rude or be too forward/prying, but I recommend you only do a HT if that's what you want and not based on what someone else wants. I am assuming she said to fill in your crown based on your feedback and that you both want another procedure. If you are considering another procedure, which doctors are you looking at?
  6. Shapiro changed my life. I’m not the same man anymore and never will be… It’s been amazing having hair again, and the many people I’ve revealed the transplant to had no clue I got it done. They say my hair looks super natural and are surprised when I tell them it’s transplant. They are blown away by my before pictures. My new appearance has elevated my life and I can’t fathom how I was managing my confidence with a bald frontal third in the past. Shapiro and his team are world class and truly take care of their patients. You should check out my thread in my signature which outlines the entire process. I felt 100% comfortable and actually enjoyed the operation. They took care of me from start to finish. The results speak for themselves. I am going in for a touch up in May. This is not an issue of their work, but because of the approach they take which makes 100% sense. Start off with a good base/foundation, and determine what next steps are best for the patient. This is to allow the doctor and patient to make educated decisions on touch ups/refinement, and to not blow all of your grafts in a mega session like some clinics do. You want to leave some in the tank and approach the situation holistically. All in all, I cannot recommend SMG enough. Reach out and talk to Matt Zupan to learn more and get a quote. Tell him Danny sent you and to take care of you. You won’t regret it.
  7. Konior, Nadimi, Shapiro, H&W from the North America side.
  8. Shapiro should be on this list as well in my opinion. Konior continues to speak highly of Dr. Shapiro, and actually turned me down when I requested a surgery with him because I had prior surgery with Shapiro at that point in time. He told me the was one of the best and that I should stay with him. So take that information as you will...
  9. I think this is a fantastic idea! You are correct that it's combed to the right. I can have Shapiro lower my left side and keep the right a little more conservative. I will add some more grafts to the temple points as well. This 1500+ graft surgery will be for fine tuning my look and should be my last surgery for the next 10 years (or so I hope...) lol
  10. 14 Month Update Okay, I lied as this will be my last update as I have decided to pull the trigger on a second transplant with SMG. It may sound aggressive, but I would like to pack more in the hairline and potentially lower it ever so slightly if I can My surgery is booked for May 31, 2022 to add more density to the hairline and hopefully round it off a bit more. We are shooting for 1500 - 1800 grafts and I will post a new thread on the matter in May. It would be cool if I could get some video of the procedure. Maybe a collab with @Melvin- Moderator? Haha I did some mock ups below for my desired hairline and appearance. What do you guys think? Too aggressive to be done with 1800 grafts? I am hoping for a slight lower of the hairline and to pack in the front. If we cannot do this, we will just add density to the hairline:
  11. Day 7 is when you can start taking gentle showers with low pressure. Grafts are thoroughly adhered after Day 7 - 10. I think you should be fine though, and I would not worry about it as there is nothing you can do now. Just be careful and enjoy the ride!
  12. I was on finasteride and copper peptides for 3 months before the surgery. I did a M/W/F routine to start as fin made me cloudy and have headaches at first. I will admit, I am not sure how much fin would have helped, but I was completely bald in my frontal third. So, no amount of medication was bringing that back no matter how hard I tried. Thus, that made my hair transplant decision clear for me personally. Currently, I take Fin 1MG M/W/F/Sa/Su and oral minoxidil everyday now. I have noticed the hairs behind my frontal area have gotten stronger and it looks much better.
  13. We are looking to bring it to a NW 2/3 area. They are going to fill in the corners and pack in the hairline. Additionally, add a little more to the temples to complete the look. When I go in the office, we will have a better idea when they buzz my donor hair to see how many grafts we can use.
  14. This is a fantastic result with the number of grafts. It honestly makes me wonder what Diep could have done with me if I stuck with my FUT appointment. Congrats on the new hair!!!
  15. @SLA @Melvin- ModeratorI am booked for a second surgery on May 31st!!! We are shooting for 1300 - 1600 FUE Grafts depending on how my donor looks. I am super stoked and excited to be working with SMG again. I will be posting another thread tracking my progress for the second surgery. I may do a Youtube video as Melvin suggested, so that SMG has some live content as well.
  16. @SLAThank you for the detailed follow-up. I am not trying to be greedy, but I do want to pack in the hairline a little bit more and add some to one temple point as those hairs did not grow as well as the other side. Maybe I should just shoot for a max of 1 - 1.5k grafts? I am meeting with SMG tomorrow as well and will report back with their advice.
  17. 13 Month Update This will be my final update as I have decided to pull the trigger on a second transplant with SMG. It may sound aggressive, but I would like to pack more in the hairline and potentially lower it ever so slightly if I can I am to the MOON with my results and I have not worn a hat in a year now... I used to wear hats every time I would go out, but now my hat is collecting dust in the closet If anyone is thinking of going to SMG, DO NOT HESITATE. Yes, they are a little more conservative, but they get the most natural results I have seen on the forums. They are also class act and a well oiled machine. The techs have been there for many many years and have a ton of experience. They take care of you and will make you look amazing Ron Shapiro, Dr. Josephitis and the SMG crew have changed my life. Thank you so much!!!
  18. I have only harvested 3,332 grafts thus far. If I use 1.5 - 2k more grafts, I will have utilized a total of 4,832 or 5,332 grafts. Average donor supply is 6 - 8k grafts. So, with that number in mind I would have roughly 2 - 3k grafts left to use. I started to lose my hair at 18 years old and when friends look at pictures of me back then, they can immediately see how thin I was. It got more aggressive as time went on and I was pretty much bald in front third by age 26/27 and my bangs failed to cover it. I am now 28 years old. Finasteride and oral minoxidil has stabilized my hair and I believe caused some regrowth as my crown has filled in and the hair behind my frontal third is stronger than ever. However, with the above, is it still possible I will lose more as I get older? Here is were I was before the procedure: Absolutely understand. I want to be realistic and need to plan accordingly. I appreciate your guidance here.
  19. @yalla8Any updates? Would love to see how the HT turned out.
  20. Thanks for all the feedback once again. Should I shoot for 1500 or 2000 grafts? If I did 2000, my total donor supply used would be 5322 giving me roughly another 1 - 2k grafts left in the tank. I really want to lower my hairline just a smidgen and beef it up as well.
  21. Have you considered Hasson & Wong or Konior? Nadimi? Shapiro?
  22. Remember, we will never get back to the days of having a full head of hair like your uncle. Even if you max out your donor supply, it will never be as thick, so we are simply creating an illusion. My father in law has a lower hairline than me and a full head of hair. However, I choose to accept that fact since I made my situation immensely better and look great because of it. 70% of men start balding or losing hair in some capacity which is why the age appropriate hair comment is said very frequently. Be careful chasing too far for “perfection” and be happy that you have a full head of hair. Some people I know aren’t so lucky or fortunate. But I understand your point.
  23. Wow, this is a really darn good result. He made those 2605 grafts go a long way, and it's very age appropriate. You are looking great and just shaved off some years off your age. I hope you have been rocking it well!
  24. This is very typical for Dr. Diep as the office is super disorganized and all over the place. If you can look past these flaws and focus on the results, you will have your answer. I am not here to dissuade at all, but it's known that the front office staff are a bit incompetent because myself and others have also experienced the same with Diep. With that being said, look at the results to make your final determination. However, if the lack of organization scares you, then you may want to consider other surgeons. Diep has had his fair share of home runs and you can find plenty of great results/examples. You will also find some negative reviews, so just do your research. Hope this helps.
