  1. I totally agree with this. Firstly, I recently had a HT done at Asmed. Now about this thread. On the one hand, I think that it's too early to call a result bad as Payam says because perhaps Payam is a slow grower. On the other hand, I don't think that a forum is the best place for calling someone liar (literally) or crybaby (indirectly). Do you want to know why? Because those truth seekers what might cause is other people not posting their HT experiences because nobody wants to be called crybaby when you are going through a process that totally changes the way you look and feel for the better or for the worse. Hopefully for the better but the process is long, with an "ugly duckling phase" included. I am sure that Payam wants to be proven wrong some months later and share a great recovery phase. Just let the guy express their feelings and fears after all these months of physical and economic sacrifices and "invested" grafts, because I don't think many of us talk about how do we feel about this with everybody, probably not even with the family to not make them worry. Besides, it's here where you have the chance to get replies from people that are experts or have had a HT done before, that's why we are here to begin with. This is just my humble opinion.
  2. You only needed some hair on your front sides so you are lucky but now your hair could be seen on a TV spot of shampoo. And yes, finasteride side effects also downgrade my sexual life, as I have always said, and that is really bad, but everyone insists that I should keep using it...? Didn't someone mention that some people use finasteride topically?
  3. I agree with you. I don't know the patient nor the doctor and I don't know if the patient did or didn't contact the doctor but the reality is that his hair is worse after the first HT. He lost grafts, he wasted money and he went through a stressful situation, so the least anyone could expect is a (total) refund as he already had another doctor fixing that mess. Fortunately, he got a good result after the first bad result and he can go on with his life. I wonder why some patients writing on the forums have so much trouble trying to reach their doctors, not a single doctor but many of them, and the patients are only attended by receptionists after the HT that are not doctors and end up being a wall for the patient and a shield for the doctor. That is not ethical.
  4. I had my HT done today. Did they give you a pen drive with photos and the HT details the following day when they check and wash your head?
  5. I am in Istanbul and will have my first HT done with Koray Erdogan (Asmed Clinic) on Monday 30th July 2018. I will probably make a separate thread though. I can confirm how nice the people that work there are. Everything is extremely well organised and even though the doctor appears busy he does the important things like planning the HT and drawing the hairline and, most importantly, leading the surgery. All the girls and guys working there are really friendly and supportive with all patients. The exact numbers will be provided on Monday after they have checked the 360 degrees photos so please don't take the following figures as definitive but, after checking my hair, the doctor has estimated 2,880 grafts and 1.9 hairs per graft average with 61 microns thickness for covering 60cm2 (hairline and front). But right now all I have is a promising hairline drawn on my shaved head.
  6. I guess that you are really happy so far. No photo from above?
  7. I had a few top doctors drawing a hairline on my photos and the one I liked the most was Koray's. Because of that and all the positive results they had achieved, I also chose Asmed. I will post my case too. Good luck!
  8. It looks very good. The only "problem" you had was the receding hairline and now it's solved. The rest of your hair looked awesome already. I think that the different thickness and colour is a common issue but not sure for how long.
  9. Thank you, once my adventure gets started I will open a new thread and say everything about it, most of all to help others like you guys do and everyone should. How is your new head looking after eight months?
  10. Thanks. This forum is absolutely invaluable. I will post my HT thread once it has begun, too.
  11. BHR is Fisanga, right? I agree with you, donor hair is invaluable. I am happy that the doctors that have replied to me this far (Koray and Feriduni) have told me that my donor hair is very good and because I have never had any HT I want to choose one of the best so they can optimise my limited resources and the results are the best possible ones. The only challenge I see in my case is that the alopecia is diffuse (worse on the front) and I am sure that that's because I am taking finasteride (for fifteen years now, since I was 19-20) because my father is bald (except the safe zone) so I can tell you that finasteride slowed down the hair loss for sure. To be honest I don't use minoxidil often because my hair looks worse with it but perhaps I should use it more. So Koray Erdogan includes taxes in the price, right? Did you check my humble thread, mate?
  12. I am in contact with Asmed now, after seeing my photos the doctor considers I would need 2,800-3,300 grafts which means some money but I guess that it's best to choose a good doctor from the start so your future treasured grafts are safer. Do the other top doctors charge more or less the same? He considers that is better to cover the front even though there is diffuse alopecia on the crown/top centre, hopefully it is okay to just cover the front for now and it will still look good? Obviously my hairline is what troubles me the most, but still wondering...
  13. Your first photos show receding hairline but the rest of your hair looked alright to me so perhaps that's why you didn't experience any shock loss because they only had to work on the hairline which is great now in between.
  14. Thanks for replying. Dr. Koray Erdogan replied to my consultation and he says that the hair on the crown is miniaturised. He recommends that I get surgery on the front (hairline and front side) because if I get HT on all the upper side (among my native hairs) the shock could be important for the native hairs that he believes are weak. I will send better photos of that area because they don't look that bad close enough, just to be sure. Has anyone received similar advice from this or any other doctor? EDIT: This doctor after seeing my photos think that I'd need 2800-3300. EDIT 2: I have contacted Diep and Feriduni as well, waiting for replies.
  15. This is a great result. Beautiful hair! I am considering HT with this doctor.
  16. Comparing your photos of before and now shows how much you have gained! I found your thread entertaining and insightful and I'm delighted with your satisfaction. I just sent an email to request information with my photos attached. Was Koray the doctor? Who Erdogan and Umat are, other doctors at Asmed? How much did you pay? Your thread is a really good reading so thanks and don't stop. I assume that Deb1982, Justjax and Yaz89 chose Asmed as well, is that right? Where are their threads? I really need a new hairline as you can see: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/187752-looking-advice-2.html
  17. I am so glad that you finally got the results that you deserved because you must have felt really bad. Your hair looks awesome now.
  18. Wow, I wouldn't expect your baldness to be as serious as it was because of your current looks. By this I mean that with good doctor(s) and money almost anyone can recover the hair that they once had which is wonderful. What doctors would you recommend me (anywhere)? My thread: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/187752-looking-advice-post2528088.html#post2528088 k an
  19. Good to know that my donor is good! That gives me hope, thankfully. The "stable" hair loss must mean that finasteride has worked for me because I started losing hair when I was very young. @Markee To paint my scalp until I get the surgery done doesn't look like a good idea in my case because as you can see my hairline is poor and every trick would be noticed, I think. Now how do I choose a doctor? Judging other people's results posted on the forum? Is it better to choose one from the "Coalition" or it doesn't matter? I could travel in Europe (where I live) or to New York/Miami (because of my work) but it's becoming a difficult decision to choose one. On second thoughts, I would travel anywhere if I can afford the total costs and the doctor is well recommended.
  20. I'm not sure how many would I need because in my case it's diffuse plus the hairline, that's also why I couldn't let some hair uncut like you did. I did an online consultation with Feriduni but will naturally ask more doctors. Can you tell me how much did you pay for how many grafts? I think that your results will be awesome so keep us posted.
  21. Thanks for the information, I would like to get the surgery done anyway. Finasteride has slowed the alopecia for years but I want a better hairline already.
  22. Sorry, this could be a very dumb question but what's the point in choosing one of the best doctors if he is only in the beginning and at the end of the surgery session. I am considering this doctor among some others but if anyone can provide a reasonable answer to my question I would appreciate it. Thanks. Oh boy, one year waiting list, so long, I'd love to have it done this year. Can you tell us price per graft? That was a very cool haircut in between.
  23. Thanks! You can check my just posted photos on here and I would love to hear your opinion, I'm getting a haircut tomorrow, always need at least one per month because otherwise it doesn't look good but also when it is too short it doesn't look great either. I am wondering do you have to pay twice for two sessions with the same doctor? And also what criterion do they follow about grafts? Do they try to implant grafts that have several hairs? Did you take a photo with you to show them how you wanted the hairline to look or they just decide based on your face? Sorry for all the questions. Yes I think you had a positive attitude throughout the process. I hope to behave well like you did and of course to get the best possible results. After the surgery I will probably dismiss finasteride (after 15 years) although I know that the original hairs might fall because of that so not really sure what to do about that and if a future surgery could replace the original hair that fell. Check this out and tell me your thoughts... http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/187752-looking-advice-post2527715.html#post2527715
